well it's really just an old folk song that's found in different versions all over europe and america. This version uses the same lyrics as the one by Coley Jones on the Anthology of American Folk. I'd like it more if it wasn't for those huge ass glasses.
Another variation of this is "Cabbage Head" by Ruth Brown... Great song, either way... Love the story songs... especially the funnier ones...
