  • I read online about some place where you can buy cheap imitation flex track. I wish I could remember where. You wouldn't even need the rope to pull it.

  • @JoeCnNd If you ever remember that link PLEASE POST IT! (you'll have to put spaces between things as YouTube doesn't let you use real links. )

  • That's so cool. I am thinking you could probably just tie knots at predetermined intervals for quick adjustment.

  • outstanding! This is perfect. I am working on my diy camera dolly now and I will use this for sure.

  • Brilliant. Now begins my search for PEX in Asia. whee.

Also, if you wanted to get creative, you could try drilling a hole through the PEX and putting a hook through it. That would allow you to have S curves AND avoid having the rope under the track on one side.

  • that's great

  • I like it!!!

  • Thanks Johnny! Glad you liked it.

  • thanks brotha- wouldn't have figured the PEX idea without these vids, saves $. keep it up

  • Yes, thanks! I am always looking for the cheapest way to solve a problem, but still have decent quality.

Good luck and let me see something you shoot using this stuff!

  • Thanks for sharing this!

  • THANK you for commenting! :)

  • very good videos...... congratulations

  • Thank you so much! I am nearly done with my Jib Crane vid, but I just got a JAG35 depth of field adapter and have been playing with that all week. I'll probably have something up soon.

  • hope to see it soon

  • Check out my videos - the Jib/Crane vid is up as well as the one that shows footage from the JAG35E Depth-of-field adapter.

  • looks good, I built my own dolly but used a different method as you although I will use your method for the curved track.

  • Glad to hear you liked it. There are umpteen ways to do that - all you need is a strong cord and ANY way to secure the ends so the cord stays put. You could tie the cords to washers, etc. Lots of variations. What design did you use to build your dolly? I'd like to hear about it.

  • Yes I will be going out today to purchase some of that bendy pipe lol. I made my dolly using waste pipe and t sections and some corner sections. Im also going to paint it. I will probably make a video on how I did it and post it. Im making a crane jib this weekend and a boom pole.

  • That is a nice way of doing it too. Gives me some ideas! Can't wait to see your jib/crane vid.

  • Glad you liked that. Hey! I LOVED your vid! That was some really nice dolly work - and it actually had something other than test shots! It was an actual project! Way to go. I';ll be posting my vid about my jib this week, I hope.
