Hmm... Not completely sure how he did it. I think when the smoke popped, it made his brown suit change color and his jacket just opened to give the illusion of a completely different outfit. Just watch 0:16 over and over again to try and notice any differences yourself. Yes it ruins the trick but I wanna know how its done.

For some reason every time I see a comment saying the sparkles or the smoke must of changes the colors of his suite I laugh. Its quite obvious. As you can see, it appears hes wearing a white jumpsuit with a black under shirt, right? Well that black undershirt is actually his tie that falls down when he pulls the flaps that are neatly attached to his pants. As the machine emits the smoke, he pulls the flaps, and if you look at the part of his pants on his ankles, you notice it gets tugged. Meanwhile, the smoke reacts with the his clothes, changing the color. He doesn't move his legs, so the flaps don't come off early.

Movie was EDITED. At 0:18, frame became ALL WHITE (just a good point to edit). After the frame, the guy came change his suit (of course you cut that frames). Then resume with the bang...and new suit.

The Reason why you don't want to film this is (not only because you can rewind it) but it works on after images.

Meaning, when the light flashes, it blinds us for a second and then disorientates it for another 2 seconds afterwards, loooooads of time for the ...unvail..

While on camera, we don't suffer from the after-image of the bright light and therefore the secret is more easily exposed.
