Twisting someone's words around like that may appear to be funny. But it's actually pointless and in the long run hurts your cause more than it helps.
It would make a lot more sense to just consider what Kirk really said rather than make a joke of it, but It is obvious that atheists have no defense against his testimony as a former atheist. I never see them dealing with the real issues, but just ridiculing those who disagree with them instead. That is evident not just from videos like this, but also certain comedies on TV. It is a typical response of those who have no defense for their position.
THIS WAS EDITED TO CHANGE KC'S MESSAGE. Einstein recognized the impossibility of a non-created universe. Firmly denying atheism,Einstein expressed a belief in Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the harmony of what exists. "I want to know how HE created this world, I am not interested in this or that phenomenon. I want to know His thoughts, the rest are details. HE doesnt play dice-this was a real statement about GOD.Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."
@58michaelm FAIL. Einstein realized that the universe was not eternal. He wrote a letter warning people not to call him a Christian. and I quote "I am and will always be a Atheist" Albert Einstein. Humans with religion are blind and lame.
this is funny and clever... all we need is for a foolish believer who doesnt know anything about computer software & has doubts about his god... and feel that well since kirk is going out like this well so will i, only with a big bang and start shooting people, remember the son of sam was a creationist and thought his dog could speak and his dog told him to kill, maybe he misunderstood the bible too. or what about Waco Texas what a big misunderstanding about the bible that was. amazing simply am
Kirk Cameron is an actor. He gets paid to do what he's doing. He wasn't sixteen years old for three years in a row, either, but he got paid to do that on tv, too.
He became an atheist for a reason, and it probably had something to do with becoming an adult and/or learning about science. He became a christian because he's an actor and makes his living pretending to be things on television.
"THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES IS NOT IN ANY SENSE FOUNDED ON THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION." (Treaty of Tripoli, Article 11: Written during the Administration of George Washington and signed into law by John Adams.)
Thumbs up for WMM being a piece of shit. I tried the WIN 7 version, and its so fucking generic, you cant do anything with it. But this was funny. Good job.
I also want to pick up that bible he has and read about the bullshit they're telling people.
Not really - if anyone actually believes this is genuine - then they are mentally handicapped.
The motive behind this is probably very simple - Kirk Cameron, is going to be a dumbass until his last days. This video shows us what a moderately intelligent KC will sound like - still some problems, but an upgrade is an upgrade. ^_^
Creationists quote-mine, twist, and just plain lie all the time to advance their mission of making our kids science illiterate. This video makes fun of that practice.
NP for the delay, hope things went well with the family. If god created all of the rules for damnation and salvation, then how did I throw myself off the boat? He made the ruling on my status long before I ever existed, right? So how am I to be happy we DESIGNED a life preserver to go with his DESIGNED laws of damnation and salvation? And what is the life preserver exactly? Worship of the being who put us in this predicament? Would you ever damn one of your kids? Why is it ok for god then?
Then as for those who believe and do good, he will pay them fully their reward and give them more out of his grace; and as for those who disdain and are proud, he will chastise them with a painful chastisement. And they shall not find for themselves besides Allah a guardian or a helper.
@Cocacoladdict9 yeah but he hates the jews so why would he help them? lol
I remember the day of the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami and seeing it's destruction and then thinking there is some bonehead somewhere else in the world saying "God blessed me today, i got a job". Glad he was busy helping you with your pittiful problem while he let thousands die instead. Maybe he would have saved Japan if 65% of them weren't atheist. America is 95% christian and we riot during a disaster....odd.
@dredsdomain If he trys to kill my brother I'll barge into the heavens and rip God's empty head off from his fucking body.I would try to do that even if he didn't try to kill my brother but he doesn't exist. :D
Non existing God tell me about it! I saw this journal on DeviantART.She said things like ''pray for Japan.'' and thanked Jesauce Chrust for getting something.I wasn't sure what it was though that she got.
@Cocacoladdict9 seeing isn't always believing.god is probably in some other dimension so being able to get any evidence the way you want would be nearly impossible.our dimension and his dimension work differently, you should go watch something about the 4th dimension and you might understand.
@Cocacoladdict9 Woah, that must have been a typo on my part. Some serveys say atheists make up 10% leaving christian and misc the other 90%, other say Christians make up 76%, so not sure what to go by exactly. But still it's an astonishing number.
@shymoneykid Nope. See I just prayed to god for him to make you give me all your money. Didn't work. But if you want to prove god right. Give me all your money.
@lagerbaer actually, there's plenty of science in the bible itself... the problem is that you athiests choose not to see it. it takes more faith to believe (scientifically) in evolution then in creation. you'll deny that, but it's definitely true
@widecelica Do you actually have one thought in your brain that was not instilled by Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron or your local pastor? I doubt it, because then you would see how what you just said is incredibly stupid. There is no "science" in the Bible. Nothing that goes beyond the knowledge of the time, unless you twist some innocent verses out of context. It doesn't take more FAITH to believe in evolution. But it certainly takes more of an effort to go beyond picturebook explanations.
@lagerbaer ah yes, you're one of those very angry athiests... well don't worry, i'll try to keep it simple worded for the simple minded: back around 1500 bc when people thought the earth sat on the back of an animal or a giant the bible states clearly in Job 26:7 "He...hangs the earth upon nothing." also atoms were discovered somewhat recently and we learned they make up all matter that we see.Hebrews 11:3 states "...so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible." Questions?
@widecelica Why didn't biblical scholars talk about their incredible relevation about atoms? Why didn't a scholar say: "This passage says that everything is made up of atoms, we should run a few experiments to see if its true"? Why do they always wait for real scientists to discover s.th. and only THEN come forward and say "We knew that already". No, you didnt'! I invite you to use the Bible to answer as of yet undecided questions of science. Is there a Higgs boson? Is dark matter real?
@widecelica Your comparison fails. Scientists are not the ones who claim that we knew it "before everyone else". You believe that a bunch of middle east goat herders in the Bronze age already knew about atoms. The evidence was there all the time, sure, but it wasn't noticed or written down. Is that so hard to understand?
Biblical fundamentalists fail at science, logic and decency.
@lagerbaer actually, i never claimed scientists said that. please read and understand my words, don't misconstrue them. and by the way it was written down, that's what i said. the bible. and i gave you two verses.
@widecelica But don't you see that the order is off? FIRST, the REAL scientists discover stuff. Then some gullible idiot says: "If you look at this verse, it kinda sounds like this". It has NEVER happend that the Bilbe was used to obtain NEW knowledge. It is very childish to wait until someone else says something smart and then act as if you'd known it all along.
@lagerbaer actually, it's funny you mention that cause again, you'd be wrong. Matthew Fontaine Maury is the father of oceanography and discovered the ocean currents. you know what gave him the idea to look into it? psalms 8:8 where it mentions the "paths of the sea". he was sick at the time and he said "if god says the paths of the sea, then when i get out of this bed, i'm gonna find it" his book is still used in universities and is still considered a basic text. you were saying?
@widecelica LOL. Seriously? The fact that the ocean has currents is like, the VERY FIRST THING you notice when you get on a fucking boat. You get on a boat, you stop rowing, you drift away. Bravo, you've just discovered ocean currents. The Greeks knew about them, the Romans did, the Vikings did. Every seafaring nation did, and certainly before the Bible was written. Want to try again?
@lagerbaer lol, you just told me that the bible was not used to discover anything. he was the father of oceanography and has mapped out all the paths of the sea but of course now that i told you you don't want to admit it because you have been proven incorrect. they may have known that they were moving but they had no idea where it was going and no way of knowing which way it would go until they got into the current so no, i don't want to try again. i gave you factual proof, you gave assumption
@widecelica Well, the Bible didn't tell him WHERE the paths of the sea went, either? Only that they existed. And this was known all along.
Anyway, by your standards of evidence, you should pray to Allah, because the Quran also claims to have a lot of "scientific prophecies", like astronauts and DNA. Why are vague Bible verses scientific while vague Quran verses are not? And what about Maori? The believe New Zealand is the rising end of a sinking canoe of the gods. Sounds like plate tectonics...
@lagerbaer i love your tactics. the way you change the subject away from teh real matter to go for something else. the original topic was evolution and then changed to science and now other religions. what's next? politics?
@widecelica I questioned your claim that "there's plenty of science in the Bible". Apart from long-debunked stories from creationist websites and VenomfangX's youtube channel, there isn't much to back up this claim. The Bible was never used in any way to discover new scientific concepts. It's like saying the ancient Greeks predicted computer viruses in the story of the Trojan Horse.
@lagerbaer i already explained how it was. now you're being ridiculous to bring attention away from my examples. there's plenty to back up my claims and then some, you just choose not to see it after i bring it to your attention. i can't fix stupid. be on your way
@widecelica This from a person who gets all knowledge from creotard websites. I already explained precisely why your examples are bullshit, so you have to come up with something better. I'm pointing out that when applying your very own logic to other works of fiction, conclusions become ridiculous. But since it's your logic, you would have to believe it. So Lord of the Rings predicted Homo Floresiensis, War of the Worlds predicted Lasers, Star Trek predicted mobile phones etc.
@lagerbaer geez! so angry! no websites, i just read quite a bit. i don't watch start trek so i wouldn't know and i don't like Lord of the Rings so that's all up to you if that's what you want to refer to for your history/predictions.
@widecelica You obviously don't read unbiased scientific sources, only what has been approved by your pastor. You are saying that "vaguely sounds like" is equal to "absolutely already knew about". By the way: At no point have I said whether or not I was an Atheist. I could be an Atheist, a Moslem, a Christian. Whatever. Many religious people would call bullshit on your claim that Bible verses REALLY talk about atoms or oceanography.
@lagerbaer actually, I've never talked to make pastor about this. it's never come up. i don't just hear what "scientists" say about it. i actually read, as should you. the more you read the more you'll learn, and don't worry, i don't care what it is that you do or don't believe because apparently no matter what kind of evidence or proof or historical date or scientific data i show you or point you towards you'll still make up an excuse to argue so think what you please.
@widecelica Genesis 6:20 "Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. "
And then, of course, it says 7 later, as you point out. So my question is this: If the Bible has no contradictions, then the only explanation is 2 of every bird came to Noah, and the rest he had to catch to make the total 7. Does this make sense to you? It seems to me the Bible says both 7 and 2 of each kind of bird...
@ProblemHonorStudent ah yes, that part. God was first explaining what was going to happen cause God brought the animals to Noah, not the other way around. and then he started getting into the details. that's why he also specifies about the clean and dirty animals. it was an overview, and then details just like we do. "i need those papers over there, but i need the top and bottom sheet, not the others" just details.
@widece I understand your justification, but it seems like a cop out. Again, this isn't "just a book", right? It's the PERFECT word of god, according to you. So if that's the case, why didn't god get it right? If I said "get me 2 of each kind of bird" and then I wanted 14, wouldn't that be a little confusing? It's like the 2 thieves I pointed out earlier. If I told you "1 guy was mean, and 1 guy was nice." you'd understand that. If I said "both were nice." It's a DIFFERENT STORY then the 1st.
@ProblemHonorStudent right but again, he didn't have to be confused because he wasn't getting the animals. God brought teh animals to him. he didn't even have to tell him how many animals were coming to him, he just gave him that as supplemental information. maybe so he can start getting food ready? i don't know, i wasn't there but i would imagine he had to have a system to feed them and all those intricate details.
@widecelica God sent him 2 birds of each kind. Then god told him to have 14 birds of each kind. So that would mean
1) God changed his mind (from a perfect being, that makes no sense).
Or
2) Noah gathered up 12 birds of each kind.
And yes, Noah would have to have a system to feed all those animals. This is an experiment I would love to see replicated: Take 2 of every animal, put them on a boat with the same dimensions, food for all of them, and have 7 people care for them with 0% fatality.
@ProblemHonorStudent actually there was a korean study in 1992 at a world-class (at that time at least) research center called KRISO led by a Dr. Hong. in ref to the animals it was also calculated that only about 16000 animals were needed to preserve all types of animals. that being said there were also not as many animals back then then there are more but you sound smart enough and i'm sure you know why so i don't have to explain all that
@widecelica Yes, 16,000 may do it. But the logistics are still staggering. If each animal's care was only 3 minutes a day, each person cares for 20 animals an hour, that's 480 a day with no sleep, and multiply that by 7 and you get 3,150 animals that would receive 3 minutes of care per day. So every animal would get cared for every 5 days, apprx. And Noah and his crew couldn't sleep for the entire 6 months or however long it was. Feeding is quick, but cleaning takes time... LOTS of poop.
@ProblemHonorStudent agreed, that's alot. i unfortunately don't know the logistics of that. i believe there were 9 people on the boat, ark, however you wanna refer to it, but there are theories (we've heard that before) that they could've constructed hoppers for the food, some kind of gravity fed water system )especially since it rained for 40 days and 40 nights) that's just way too much for me to even think about. i'm not a farmer, i just eat food
@widecelica Yeah, I'm not much of a farmer either. But I'm not so concerned with the feeding as the cleaning. An elephant craps 200lbs a day. A DAY. And then all of the other herd animals... LOTS of poop. Logistically impossible, I would say. You probably are right about 9 people... Still that's only another 1,000 animals a day. And still no one gets to sleep. Thank god for meth?!?
I must call it for now... I have a heathen meeting to attend :)
@ProblemHonorStudent oh yeah, and about the thieves, maybe they both were mocking him at first. the bible doesn't say exactly how long they were hanging there or how long they were mocking him or details like that so again, i wasn't there to be able to specify that they were both mocking all teh time or maybe one mocked but after an hour or two saw that he really was teh son of God and then repented... i couldn't say
@widecelica I understand your view that one thief may have changed his mind. However, I would wonder as to why Matthew and Luke didn't both see the same things happening. Did Matthew get there and leave early, or did Luke show up late? Remember, this isn't like a wedding; This is the death of their Messiah. They would all have been front and center. Where would you have been if you were around then?
My point is, the Bible is just a book, written by men and men alone, and subject to human error.
@ProblemHonorStudent there are so many variables it's rediculous! he could've been talking to mary and james, he could've been away for a while informing someone of something or he could've been so focused on the soldiers or the crowd or anything. i can't speak for them. there's plenty of times that my wife and i will be watching a movie and she notices something that i don't. we were both front and center and were were both watching teh same thing but i just missed something. i wasn't there.
@widecelica EXACTLY! HUMAN ERROR! Not PERFECTION! What happened with the thieves? WE DON'T KNOW? Why? Because the Bible isn't clear, it has 2 differing perspectives on the same event. This is perfectly acceptable for humans, but for INFALLIBLE WORDS OF THE CREATOR, this is not. You can't have it both ways: Either the Bible has human errors, and is therefore fallible, or the Bible is perfect, and therefore should have no human errors.
It seems we both agree that there IS indeed a human error...
@ProblemHonorStudent never once did i mention an error. i stated that the perspective was different. i don't know what would've changed their perspective (maybe where they were standing) but i never mentioned that there was an error.
@widecelica The truth is not subjective. Our perceptions of the truth are. Either both criminals mocked him, or one did and one did not. One could change his mind, but without it being recorded, we are left with the DIFFERENCE in 2 human's perceptions to deduce what really happened. Again, fine for humans, not so for god. If he's perfect, and his word is perfect, and the bible is his word, differing human perceptions should never cloud our ability to discern the truth. Doesn't this make sense?
@ProblemHonorStudent i don't think that's clouding anything. one disciple may have seen both mocking him for like 15 min and then the other maybe have watched them after 15 minutes after the other thief repented. that doesn't change the series of events, only changes the perspective that it was written in
@widecelica "only changes the perspective it was written in."
I seem to be repeating myself on this one: Changes in perspective are fine and dandy, for a human. For god's PERFECT word, no such error can be. If your son told you he saw 2 kids beating up his friend, and then someone else said one kid was beating up his friend, and one was defending him, you'd realize someone had made a mistake in relating the story to you. Same thing here. Matthew and Luke weren't perfect, so neither is the bible.
@ProblemHonorStudent that's not true. i work for law enforcement and we deal with things like that all the time. now, that being said... if all the stories were written solely from Gods point of view with no human perspective then 2 things would happen: 1) it wouldn't be 66 books but just one really long book and 2) no human would relate to it in any way because there was no human perspective... it's kind of a double whammy in a sense but it does make sense... to me at least
@widecelica I will concede that it is possible for both stories to be true. It does show the differing points of view present. I understand you saying 1 long book and our lack of ability to relate. But again, this is god we're dealing with here. He could have made the law for salvation nothing more than ringing a bell, but he chose instead to sacrifice his son, and many others. My point is, he could have eliminated these inconsistencies, but he did not. Leaving us to believe in an invisible
@widecelica and a book that's supposed to be perfect, but has these inconsistencies. Some would even call them errors. Or we are damned. We are given so little real evidence, you can see this from your work in law enforcement. God creates people, knowing they will reject him, and yet does it anyway. If he made the rules for salvation, can break them at his whim, and still people go to hell (or are annihilated), he is ultimately responsible. Doesn't that make sense?
@ProblemHonorStudent well, i guess we can assume that "real" evidence is in the eye of the beholder so to speak (as i think we've been able to prove thus far) what we do in law enforcement when we get to a situation like this is we get both stories. we then take everything that is consistant from the victim and the eye witnesses and then we we get a picture of what really happened. if they were both guilty then they both go to jail, however (yes, biblical allusion coming) if the victim (cont.)
@ProblemHonorStudent in this scenario decides to drop charges against one, then they are no longer guilty because to have a crime you must have a victim so even if he was beating someone up, they've been "forgiven" thus no longer guilty. those are the eyes i'm seeing it through (obviously because my profession) now when it comes to why did God even bother with us humans when he knew what would happen? i always compare it to something dog breeding. you breed dogs cause you love them (cont.)
@ProblemHono and you know that they're gonna tear up some important IRS forms (personal experience) and they're gonna crap on the carpet and you will be very angry most of the time, but in the end you know you brought them into the world (this is weird, maybe kids were a better choice) and no matter how bad they are you still love them and you long for them to have a good relationship with you. maybe that makes sense, without the weird things. just replace dogs with kids and it should be better
@widece So if the kids are bad, you put them down? That's what god is doing in the bible; he says "Either belief in me with no solid evidence, and no way to see me, and claims in my book that make no sense, or be damned for eternity. Oh, and by the way, I love you and want you to be happy.".
I fail to see how he could make even 1 person KNOWING 100% that this person would spend eternity in hell, and not change his brain. Make his BS meter a little less accurate. Instead, he made us scientists.
@ProblemHono well he gave us the ability to make our own choices, which is why we screwed everything up. it's up to us if we spend eternity in hell. like i stated before, he made a way for us... almost everyone knows the way, they just chose either not to believe or they believe but chose against it... that's free will. God doesn't damn us, we damn ourselves, and the minute we stop blaming God and start taking responsibility of the heaviness that entails, the more your eyes will be opened
@widecelica 1st of all, I don't REALLY blame god, I don't believe in any sort of spirits at all. I'm trying to show you the logical fallacy inherent in your theology. For example: If you agree that
1) God created everything, including the laws of salvation
2) God can change things on this earth at his whim
3) God created the mind of every being, knowing their thoughts beforehand
Then I fail to see how god is not ultimately responsible for our damnation.
@ProblemHonorStudent well the first problem is with number one... he didn't make a LAW of salvation, he made a WAY for salvation. it's up to US to accept that way or not and God created us with the ability to make our own choices so, to recap: we choose to not accept the way he provided, we then accept the wages of sin, which is death (damnation) and vice-versa
@widece OK, the "gift" of salvation. If salvation is a life preserver, who is it who threw us off the boat? God decided what the prerequisites are for salvation. Like I said before, it could have been ringing a bell. Instead, it's believe in an invisible being (one of many, I might add) and "his" book, which is full of inconsistencies and fantastic happenings, or go to hell. And again, he knew 100% what decision we would make, yet made us anyway. Free will and omnipotence don't mix logically.
@ProblemHonorStudent sorry for the delay, family is in town and i've been spending time with them. we (mankind) threw ourselves off the boat. many invisible things? are you talking about the trinity or something else? not following. also, if you look at it from a biblical perspective it does make sense but of course for it to really make sense without a shadow of a doubt you would have to believe at one point or another and that i can't prove to you.
Alif lam Mim. 2- This book, there is no doubt in it, is a guide to those who guard (against evil). 3- Those who believe in the unseen and keep up prayer and spend out of what we have given them. 4- And who believe in the which has been revealed to you and that which was revealed before you and they are sure of the hereafter. 5- These are on a right course from their lord and these it is that shall be successful.
@widecelica What evidence did you provide? What "scientific data" did you provide? You provided a falsified anecdote that is found exclusively in creationist literature. That is neither evidence nor data. But then, the fact that you believe in the Bible already proves that you have pretty low standards for what evidence actually is. Go on, use the Bible as your guide through live. I'll rely on reason and critical thinking. When dealing with reality, they work pretty darn well.
@lagerbaer no, actually that is all incorrect. if i were you, i would stop assuming you know where my information comes from, that's be the smartest thing you do. second of all, if the evolution theory is correct and dinosaurs did live and were extinct millions of years ago, then why have we found t-rex bones with red blood cells in them and some of the bones not even fossilized yet? please answer me that oh mighty angry evolutionist?
@widecelica That's from Answers in Genesis. And it's, of course, wrong. The claim that there are unfossilized t-rex bones is simply wrong, and the fact that one can find remnants of organic molecules in fossils is nothing unexpected at all. The creationist loons have misunderstood and deliberately distorted some interesting findings which in no way discredit the theory of an old earth. It's all baloney, but you don't notice it because you are too absorbed in your creationist propaganda.
@lagerbaer you can always google Mary Schweitzer "Schweitzer first publicly announced her discovery in 1993. Since then, the claim of discovering soft tissues in a 68 million year old fossil has been disputed by some molecular biologists. The authenticity of her discovery, however, is now generally accepted in the scientific community although the mechanism of the preservation is not well understood" maybe cause it's not 168 million years old?
@widecelica "why didn't people find all this "evidence" of evolution before darwin's theory?"
Why didn't people see all the evidence for atomic power before Einstein's theory? Why didn't people see the evidence for gravity's more subtle effects before Newton's theory? Why didn't people see all the evidence for harnessing electricity before Franklin's experiment? Why didn't people see the usefulness of gunpowder before they saw it?
@ProblemHonorStudent on the contrary. i agree. because science and experimentation was able to prove these things. the science proved them to be true and then they were observed completely... it wasn't assumed from a theory that a man made up with no evidence to back up... at that time or this time.
@widecelica We ALL descended from the same life. Bacteria, molds, trees and humans all share the same protein structure for their amino acids. Not just humans. Please, be a doll, and go do some bona fide research. Your attempting to prove the earth is flat. When we have science that USES evolution, there is no longer room for INTELLIGENT debate.
There is room for "debating" flat-earthers, however...
@ProblemHonorStudent hey, if you wanna believe you're a mold then so be it, i however was in no way stating or trying to prove that the earth is flat... in fact the bible does have references to the earth being round or like a circle in at least 3 places... but i'm sure you don't believe that either...
@widecelica Never said I was a mold. I said we all were descended from the same original life. ALL life on earth has a common ancestor. If you don't want to look at the TRUTH because it shatters your BELIEFS, then you are willingly delusional, and should be treated for your delusions.
I don't care if the bible said "round face of the earth" or not. It also said that a rapist should pay his victim's father 30 pieces of silver, and then marry his victim. Do you believe that too? Progressive, eh?
@widecelica The bible also got simple shit wrong... Read the ENTIRE Noah's ark story, and then answer this question: How many of each bird did Noah bring on the boat?
Or if the 2 thieves crucified with Jesus both recognized him a Christ, or if 1 did, and 1 did not. Or who Cain had to fear so badly that he needed god to mark him to protect him?
Or why the earth came before the sun, or the animals before the plants, or...
@ProblemH... 7 pairs of every kind of birds a male and female to keep the various kinds alive throughout the earth... what about it? i could be a bit rusty but i think one denied him and mocked him and the other one did recognize him as messiah and repented. Cain feared the other people on the earth... brothers and sisters and possibly some distant relatives... remember, adam and eve were told to go forth and multiply. sun came after because God chose it to. light doesn't only come from the sun
@widecelica Bible says both 7 and 2 birds, bible says in Mat that the theives both mocked him, and in Luke 1 did while 1 did not., So Cain was afraid of his BROTHERS AND SISTERS??? He says "They will know I am an exile, and will kill me." So, how come his family would KNOW he was an exile if they too had left the home of Adam? Use logic, eh? And the sun coming before the earth "because god told it to". is a STUPID COP OUT. Science has PROVEN the sun existed before the earth. Bible= Lies.
@ProblemHonorStudent lol, says 7 and 2? i told you and the bible says.... 7 kinds of birds and a male and female of each. 7 birds and 7 kinds of birds are different. at first they both mocked but then one repented (turned away from) and the other did not. they were told from different perspectives but the same story. about cain, yes, they would kill him cause he killed their brother abel! how is that not logical? if you had a brother and someone killed him you wouldn't wanna kill him? and how...
@widecelica And they would know he killed Abel HOW? Fedex? Email? Are you ignorant as hell? THERE WERE NO PEOPLE TO SPREAD THE NEWS! And you SAY Matthew only got half the story, and Luke the other, eh? So I guess Matthew had to leave early, and Luke got there late, huh? Not like it was an important day or anything...
And reread it CLOSELY! You will see the CONTRADICTION of numbers of birds on Noah's ark. Or you aren't reading it...
@ProblemHonorStudent genesis 7:3 "and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth." did i miss something? the brothers and sisters were there at the same time seeing as adam lived 930 years "multiplying", that's a lot of people being born and also multiplying. again, read and understand!!!! i said they were different perspectives! quit twisting my words or i will stop answering your childish questions! in ref to the rape...
@widecelica Genesis 6:20 "Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. "
I believe you already quoted the 7 of each bird verse...
Never seen that one before, eh?
And I understand that Matthew and Luke had different perspectives... But the TRUTH is not subjective, it is objective. And if the bible is god's PERFECT book, human perceptions shouldn't cloud the TRUTH.
@widecelica Matthew says that both thieves ridiculed Christ, and Luke says one did, and one did not. Neither says anything else about it. Matthew 27:44, Luke 23:39 and 40.
@ProblemHonorStudent ...rape, i do apologize because for some reason it didn't post... you've been posting way too much for me to keep up with. that was in the old testament and if you read you will see that the bible is in 2 different parts... old and new testament. in the new testament Jesus changed some of the laws due to the sacrifice coming and the prophecies that were being fulfilled
@widecelica I understand the Christian concept of the "covenant" and the change from OT to NT... But I thought god was the same "yesterday, today, and forever..."
@ProblemHonorStudent ugh! that's what i'm doing, i'm hitting reply again instead of post. yes, God is the same yesterday today and forever. he made a way for his people in the ot and he made a way for those in the nt and now... no contradiction
@ProblemHonorStudent umm, sorry, but you might have to redirect me to what i haven't answered cause i've been doing nothing but answering, but i'm not seeing them all. just let me know. umm, ref to the cichlids, thats not evolution... those are changes within species. i asked for something that has changed from one species to a completely different one. that evolution. i agree with changes and cross breeding and things like that cause its been observed... i mean real "evolution"
@ProblemHon (cont.) would they know he was exiled if they also left the home of adam? what are you talking about? where is this infallible science proving that the sun is older then the earth? seriously?! did they go to the sun and take samples and run a test? no. there is no physical way to tell without testing the actual sun, which we all know is not possible. you're sounding dumber and dumber every comment! and you're getting angrier as well. good job. don't be blinded by anger, or evolution
@widecelica I'm not even close to angry. You aren't intelligent enough to piss me off. You're just a stubborn, brainwashed fool. Let me ask you this, fool for Jesus: Do you believe in healing? Does god heal the sick?
@widecelica Isn't it cool how the bible contradicts itself, yet is the infallible word of god? Only a truly mysterious being could write a perfect book full of imperfections!
@widecelica "I am the same yesterday, today, and forever." The he kills thousands with plagues, famines, pestilence... and then Jesus comes, and it's "he who sinned not cast the first stone." That isn't a contradiction. How about the birds on Noah's Ark? Oh, you haven't REREAD it CLOSELY like I asked... That's cool. And "he cares for the sparrows... How much more does he care for you?" But he killed all those Canaanite children just to make way for Moses' kids?
@widecelica ATOMICS HAS NEVER BEEN OBSERVED! We only have the EVIDENCE of it happening. Like the A bomb. Just like evolution has bioinformatics. And many other SCIENTIFIC "PROOFS" to support it's theory. And you make a mistake by saying "just a theory". A theory is a body of info, based on several hypothesis, ALL OF WHICH HAVE BEEN PROVEN TRUE WITH NO EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY! For example: Music has several notes, but they ONLY sound good in the right combination. This is called MUSIC THEORY.
@ProblemHonorStudent one thing i like about the bible is that unlike the science books, it's never been rewritten to fix or modify a belief. i did read that the original atomic theory by john dalton originally said that atoms could not be destroyed... but now a days they say that they can, so that had to be rewritten too. big shocker.
@w Yes, unlike religion, science is able to correct itself when it is wrong. Thankfully, it is right more often then not. That's why your car, PC, phone, hairdryer, etc work.
Religion is stuck with whatever it says. The bible says a rapist should marry his victim, and you can't do anything but IGNORE it. You don't like the Sabbath law, so you IGNORE it. You don't like that god condones slavery, so you IGNORE it. All the babies god ordered Joshua to kill? IGNORED!
@ProblemHonorStudent well, first of all, look, up the definition of faith. religion, beliefs and faith mean different things. also, i addressed the whole rape/victim thing, just read, it wasn't ignored. i never said i didn't like the sabbath law. are you talking about human slavery? you mean the jews that were slaves in egypt that God delivered? hmm, read more. again, different times, but God sent certain people (joshua) to establish his land for his people. he did what had to be done.
@widecelica Yeah, I looked, I'm not seeing you "rape" reply... As for ONE animal that has been observed to change SPECIES (Don't try that Hovind 'kind' crap) the cichlid fishes are one. Faeroe Island House Mouse is another, just for fun. And god laid down LAWS for slavery in the OT. God also ordered BABIES MURDERED to establish Israel? And you praise him?!?
You're more delusional then I thought. And you DO IGNORE the part where it says "women learn in submission", and the part about 144,000...
@ProblemHonorStudent in reference to the slavery again, that was old testament completely different time. and the women learning in submission? it tells women to submit to their husbands, also tells husbands to love their wives like Christ loves the church... what of it?
@widecelica Electrical theory, theory of relativity, theory of gravity, theory of electricity and magnetism, theory of plate tectonics, theory of atomic structure...
Point is, a theory is not just a hypothesis. In science, a theory is the result of hundreds of repeatable experiments, all of which point to the same thing, with no evidence against it. None whatsoever. Or it is no longer a theory.
So please, go educate yourself in a proper school. Not a Christian one.
@widecelica And of course, all other scientists immediately jumped the wagon on this man made theory without evidence to back up just so they could piss off god.
@widecelica Why don't you try researching evolution instead of taking some creationist's word for it. If I was to study Christianity, should I study from a pastor, or should I study from an atheist? That's how you study evolution; You listen to creationists without researching the other side. Otherwise, you couldn't say it takes more faith to believe in evolution. ALL of the science points to it, and it works with applied sciences. Does the bible have any applications? Besides joint paper.
@ProblemHonorStudent angry Atheist number 2:i've done plenty of reading of evolution but i prefer non-fiction reading material actually. youre right, if i was going to study evolution thoroughly i would go to an evolutionary biologist or something close to that, not arguing with athiests on youtube, but this is more entertaining. "ALL" science? "applied sciences" no sir (or ma'am) there is no applied science, because if it was it would already be proven, which it is not. there are assumptions...
@wid Bioinformatics, resistance management in both medicine and agriculture, evolutionary theory is used to manage fisheries to greater yields, quantitative trait locus mapping, and sex allocation theory are all fields of science that evolution is used in or is the basis of the science itself. It is also used in generating computer programs (based on evolutionary algorithms), and it has been used in many other ways, as well.
@ProblemHonorStudent i in no way disagree with science because the science that you can actually prove coincides with the bible and does not contradict it. that being said, these computer programs were built by someone with knowledge, they didn't magically appear. information can be added if there's a source for the information. and don't get science mixed up with the belief of evolution. things adapt to their enviroments and they can die out, but they never "evolve". don't get confused.
@ProblemHonorStudent (continued) ...made in order to arrive to your conclusion. there was no eye witness or even a written historical document from the time that sludge became man. hence the more faith needed to believe evolution. believe it or not, more science is actually pointing to creation, not evolution, but of course no matter what i show you or tell you you will never believe me. that's where the term "blind faith" comes in; you believe without wanting to see.
@widecelica This is what's funny; You claim I have no evidence, but it is you that are believing in a book of myths. Why don't you believe the Egyptian account of creation? Or the Greek? It is a book of myths! Evidence for evolution abounds; The lack of an eyewitness not withstanding. We didn't have an eyewitness to atoms before we split them, did we? But the PRACTICAL APPLICATION made it FACT, no longer debatable. The jury is in, evolution happened. There is SOLID EVIDENCE.
@ProblemHonorStudent give me one "solid" piece of evidence that is irrefutable about evolution (the actual evolution that we're talking about, not just changes in a species or things dying out but something becoming something else over these so called millions of years) and i just might agree with you. why do i believe the bible? because the bible has not yet been wrong and is the divine inspired word of God, the CREATOR.
@w "there is no applied science, because if it was it would already be proven, which it is not. "
Then I provided you with a list of applied sciences. Now you say "give me proof." I thought I just did...
OK, google "observed instances of speciation". I can't list all of the examples here, AS THERE'S TOO MANY! But it does happen, has been seen to happen, and has been genetically proven to have happened.
DNA proves this. Our chromosome count proves this. Fossils prove this. Only religion argues.
@ProblemHonorStudent yes you did, and i love you you took it straight off the website. that being said, what i saw were even more assumptions about how with this theory we will be able to eventually maybe figure this out. that's not proof, that's just more assumptions. i said proof, not ideas.
@widecelica I took it straight from the website because it is easier than paraphrasing. Sheesh! And no, there were not assumptions. READ the articles, and research each one you want to. You will see we are WAY past the assumption phase of evolution, and well into the practical side of it. I gave you a list of sciences that use evo, and I gave you a phrase to google to see how many species we have actually WITNESSED evolve.
The sciences are PROVEN, not hypothetical. READ IT PLEASE!!!
@ProblemHonorStudent please, why don't you give me one animal that has been observed to evolve. and again, that's evolve into a different species. not adapt, but evolve.
@widecelica There are over 2 dozen different ways the proteins that make up our DNA could have been arranged to form the amino acids necessary to create DNA. However, all creatures on this earth, from the bacteria to the elephants, have the EXACT same set of proteins forming their DNA. Why?
Because we all are descended from the same life! Or god just created all these extra options to confuse us. Like he did with the fossil record. And DNA. And our chromosomes...
@ProblemHonorStudent i agree.we all did descend from the same life. the bible says so. adam and eve. that's what i've been saying! thanks for the support.
@widecelica "because the bible has not yet been wrong ..."
OK, so in Genesis, when it says that there was the earth, and then there was light, and then there was the removal of the waters, and then the sun and moon and stars were formed...
Light without a source. A planet flying around in space with no star. Water covering the earth.
These things have all been proven to be false. As well as talking snakes and asses, rising from the dead, walking on water, etc.
@YHWHisSovereign This low?? This is just for fun. If you don't have a sense of humor then don't watch it. I warn you about one thing. A rational atheist can rip your fancy, cosy world apart with simple questions. So, don't mess with us. :D
Fellow Atheists, Skeptics, Humanists, please consider joining Folding@Home (app running on computer whose goal is "to understand protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases"). The group Atheists, Skeptics, & Humanists - ASH Folding (#182116) would love to have you.
hahaha just read a comment there where the brainbox says of course the bible has flaws but it was written by man and men have flaws, but he or she says god spoke to these writers and they still managed to fuck it up,if a big bearded head stuck out of the clouds and started telling me something i would make pretty damm sure i got it wrote word perfect.
You just changed the video too. Kirk Cameron is not an atheist, The original is where He debunks atheism not Christianity. I cannot believe you would go through all that trouble just to satisfy your atheism.
"I cannot believe you would go through all that trouble just to satisfy your atheism."
what the f**k is wrong with theists these days?
Are you really THAT DENSE that you can't see that the video is a blatant parody of his original video...
Jesus christ, atleast theists a few generations ago had A LEVEL of sense and intellectual standards, you people in 2010 don't even have a percentage of that...its frightening how much fail a theist is full of these days..
@godlessmessiah Soooo, instead you just insult me this is called ad hominem fallacy. Yes, i saw the humor in the video. Sorry if my comment offended you.

58michaelm 3 months ago
@58michaelm FAIL. Einstein realized that the universe was not eternal. He wrote a letter warning people not to call him a Christian. and I quote "I am and will always be a Atheist" Albert Einstein. Humans with religion are blind and lame.

Just like every other tv preacher.

@lagerbaer actually, there's plenty of science in the bible itself... the problem is that you athiests choose not to see it. it takes more faith to believe (scientifically) in evolution then in creation. you'll deny that, but it's definitely true
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Do you actually have one thought in your brain that was not instilled by Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron or your local pastor? I doubt it, because then you would see how what you just said is incredibly stupid. There is no "science" in the Bible. Nothing that goes beyond the knowledge of the time, unless you twist some innocent verses out of context. It doesn't take more FAITH to believe in evolution. But it certainly takes more of an effort to go beyond picturebook explanations.
lagerbaer 10 months ago
@lagerbaer ah yes, you're one of those very angry athiests... well don't worry, i'll try to keep it simple worded for the simple minded: back around 1500 bc when people thought the earth sat on the back of an animal or a giant the bible states clearly in Job 26:7 "He...hangs the earth upon nothing." also atoms were discovered somewhat recently and we learned they make up all matter that we see.Hebrews 11:3 states "...so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible." Questions?
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Why didn't biblical scholars talk about their incredible relevation about atoms? Why didn't a scholar say: "This passage says that everything is made up of atoms, we should run a few experiments to see if its true"? Why do they always wait for real scientists to discover s.th. and only THEN come forward and say "We knew that already". No, you didnt'! I invite you to use the Bible to answer as of yet undecided questions of science. Is there a Higgs boson? Is dark matter real?
lagerbaer 10 months ago
@lagerbaer why didn't people find all this "evidence" of evolution before darwin's theory? you're digging your own grave. think before you speak
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Your comparison fails. Scientists are not the ones who claim that we knew it "before everyone else". You believe that a bunch of middle east goat herders in the Bronze age already knew about atoms. The evidence was there all the time, sure, but it wasn't noticed or written down. Is that so hard to understand?
Biblical fundamentalists fail at science, logic and decency.
lagerbaer 10 months ago
@lagerbaer actually, i never claimed scientists said that. please read and understand my words, don't misconstrue them. and by the way it was written down, that's what i said. the bible. and i gave you two verses.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica But don't you see that the order is off? FIRST, the REAL scientists discover stuff. Then some gullible idiot says: "If you look at this verse, it kinda sounds like this". It has NEVER happend that the Bilbe was used to obtain NEW knowledge. It is very childish to wait until someone else says something smart and then act as if you'd known it all along.
lagerbaer 10 months ago
@lagerbaer actually, it's funny you mention that cause again, you'd be wrong. Matthew Fontaine Maury is the father of oceanography and discovered the ocean currents. you know what gave him the idea to look into it? psalms 8:8 where it mentions the "paths of the sea". he was sick at the time and he said "if god says the paths of the sea, then when i get out of this bed, i'm gonna find it" his book is still used in universities and is still considered a basic text. you were saying?
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica LOL. Seriously? The fact that the ocean has currents is like, the VERY FIRST THING you notice when you get on a fucking boat. You get on a boat, you stop rowing, you drift away. Bravo, you've just discovered ocean currents. The Greeks knew about them, the Romans did, the Vikings did. Every seafaring nation did, and certainly before the Bible was written. Want to try again?
lagerbaer 10 months ago
@lagerbaer lol, you just told me that the bible was not used to discover anything. he was the father of oceanography and has mapped out all the paths of the sea but of course now that i told you you don't want to admit it because you have been proven incorrect. they may have known that they were moving but they had no idea where it was going and no way of knowing which way it would go until they got into the current so no, i don't want to try again. i gave you factual proof, you gave assumption
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Well, the Bible didn't tell him WHERE the paths of the sea went, either? Only that they existed. And this was known all along.
Anyway, by your standards of evidence, you should pray to Allah, because the Quran also claims to have a lot of "scientific prophecies", like astronauts and DNA. Why are vague Bible verses scientific while vague Quran verses are not? And what about Maori? The believe New Zealand is the rising end of a sinking canoe of the gods. Sounds like plate tectonics...
lagerbaer 10 months ago
@lagerbaer i love your tactics. the way you change the subject away from teh real matter to go for something else. the original topic was evolution and then changed to science and now other religions. what's next? politics?
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica I questioned your claim that "there's plenty of science in the Bible". Apart from long-debunked stories from creationist websites and VenomfangX's youtube channel, there isn't much to back up this claim. The Bible was never used in any way to discover new scientific concepts. It's like saying the ancient Greeks predicted computer viruses in the story of the Trojan Horse.
lagerbaer 10 months ago
@lagerbaer i already explained how it was. now you're being ridiculous to bring attention away from my examples. there's plenty to back up my claims and then some, you just choose not to see it after i bring it to your attention. i can't fix stupid. be on your way
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica This from a person who gets all knowledge from creotard websites. I already explained precisely why your examples are bullshit, so you have to come up with something better. I'm pointing out that when applying your very own logic to other works of fiction, conclusions become ridiculous. But since it's your logic, you would have to believe it. So Lord of the Rings predicted Homo Floresiensis, War of the Worlds predicted Lasers, Star Trek predicted mobile phones etc.
lagerbaer 10 months ago
@lagerbaer geez! so angry! no websites, i just read quite a bit. i don't watch start trek so i wouldn't know and i don't like Lord of the Rings so that's all up to you if that's what you want to refer to for your history/predictions.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica You obviously don't read unbiased scientific sources, only what has been approved by your pastor. You are saying that "vaguely sounds like" is equal to "absolutely already knew about". By the way: At no point have I said whether or not I was an Atheist. I could be an Atheist, a Moslem, a Christian. Whatever. Many religious people would call bullshit on your claim that Bible verses REALLY talk about atoms or oceanography.
lagerbaer 10 months ago

God was first explaining what was going to happen cause God brought the animals to Noah, not the other way around. and then he started getting into the details. that's why he also specifies about the clean and dirty animals. it was an overview, and then details just like we do. "i need those papers over there, but i need the top and bottom sheet, not the others" just details.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widece I understand your justification, but it seems like a cop out. Again, this isn't "just a book", right? It's the PERFECT word of god, according to you. So if that's the case, why didn't god get it right? If I said "get me 2 of each kind of bird" and then I wanted 14, wouldn't that be a little confusing? It's like the 2 thieves I pointed out earlier. If I told you "1 guy was mean, and 1 guy was nice." you'd understand that. If I said "both were nice." It's a DIFFERENT STORY then the 1st.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent right but again, he didn't have to be confused because he wasn't getting the animals. God brought teh animals to him. he didn't even have to tell him how many animals were coming to him, he just gave him that as supplemental information. maybe so he can start getting food ready? i don't know, i wasn't there but i would imagine he had to have a system to feed them and all those intricate details.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica God sent him 2 birds of each kind. Then god told him to have 14 birds of each kind. So that would mean
1) God changed his mind (from a perfect being, that makes no sense).
Or
2) Noah gathered up 12 birds of each kind.
And yes, Noah would have to have a system to feed all those animals. This is an experiment I would love to see replicated: Take 2 of every animal, put them on a boat with the same dimensions, food for all of them, and have 7 people care for them with 0% fatality.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent actually there was a korean study in 1992 at a world-class (at that time at least) research center called KRISO led by a Dr. Hong. in ref to the animals it was also calculated that only about 16000 animals were needed to preserve all types of animals. that being said there were also not as many animals back then then there are more but you sound smart enough and i'm sure you know why so i don't have to explain all that
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Yes, 16,000 may do it. But the logistics are still staggering. If each animal's care was only 3 minutes a day, each person cares for 20 animals an hour, that's 480 a day with no sleep, and multiply that by 7 and you get 3,150 animals that would receive 3 minutes of care per day. So every animal would get cared for every 5 days, apprx. And Noah and his crew couldn't sleep for the entire 6 months or however long it was. Feeding is quick, but cleaning takes time... LOTS of poop.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent agreed, that's alot. i unfortunately don't know the logistics of that. i believe there were 9 people on the boat, ark, however you wanna refer to it, but there are theories (we've heard that before) that they could've constructed hoppers for the food, some kind of gravity fed water system )especially since it rained for 40 days and 40 nights) that's just way too much for me to even think about. i'm not a farmer, i just eat food
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Yeah, I'm not much of a farmer either. But I'm not so concerned with the feeding as the cleaning. An elephant craps 200lbs a day. A DAY. And then all of the other herd animals... LOTS of poop. Logistically impossible, I would say. You probably are right about 9 people... Still that's only another 1,000 animals a day. And still no one gets to sleep. Thank god for meth?!?
I must call it for now... I have a heathen meeting to attend :)
Take care
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent lol, take care, as for the poo... slide it through vents on the side that open and close? pretty much a big toilet
widecelica 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent oh yeah, and about the thieves, maybe they both were mocking him at first. the bible doesn't say exactly how long they were hanging there or how long they were mocking him or details like that so again, i wasn't there to be able to specify that they were both mocking all teh time or maybe one mocked but after an hour or two saw that he really was teh son of God and then repented... i couldn't say

widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica I understand your view that one thief may have changed his mind. However, I would wonder as to why Matthew and Luke didn't both see the same things happening. Did Matthew get there and leave early, or did Luke show up late? Remember, this isn't like a wedding; This is the death of their Messiah. They would all have been front and center. Where would you have been if you were around then?
My point is, the Bible is just a book, written by men and men alone, and subject to human error.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent there are so many variables it's rediculous! he could've been talking to mary and james, he could've been away for a while informing someone of something or he could've been so focused on the soldiers or the crowd or anything. i can't speak for them. there's plenty of times that my wife and i will be watching a movie and she notices something that i don't. we were both front and center and were were both watching teh same thing but i just missed something. i wasn't there.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica EXACTLY! HUMAN ERROR! Not PERFECTION! What happened with the thieves? WE DON'T KNOW? Why? Because the Bible isn't clear, it has 2 differing perspectives on the same event. This is perfectly acceptable for humans, but for INFALLIBLE WORDS OF THE CREATOR, this is not. You can't have it both ways: Either the Bible has human errors, and is therefore fallible, or the Bible is perfect, and therefore should have no human errors.
It seems we both agree that there IS indeed a human error...
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent never once did i mention an error. i stated that the perspective was different. i don't know what would've changed their perspective (maybe where they were standing) but i never mentioned that there was an error.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica The truth is not subjective. Our perceptions of the truth are. Either both criminals mocked him, or one did and one did not. One could change his mind, but without it being recorded, we are left with the DIFFERENCE in 2 human's perceptions to deduce what really happened. Again, fine for humans, not so for god. If he's perfect, and his word is perfect, and the bible is his word, differing human perceptions should never cloud our ability to discern the truth. Doesn't this make sense?
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent i don't think that's clouding anything. one disciple may have seen both mocking him for like 15 min and then the other maybe have watched them after 15 minutes after the other thief repented. that doesn't change the series of events, only changes the perspective that it was written in
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica "only changes the perspective it was written in."
I seem to be repeating myself on this one: Changes in perspective are fine and dandy, for a human. For god's PERFECT word, no such error can be. If your son told you he saw 2 kids beating up his friend, and then someone else said one kid was beating up his friend, and one was defending him, you'd realize someone had made a mistake in relating the story to you. Same thing here. Matthew and Luke weren't perfect, so neither is the bible.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent that's not true. i work for law enforcement and we deal with things like that all the time. now, that being said... if all the stories were written solely from Gods point of view with no human perspective then 2 things would happen: 1) it wouldn't be 66 books but just one really long book and 2) no human would relate to it in any way because there was no human perspective... it's kind of a double whammy in a sense but it does make sense... to me at least
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica I will concede that it is possible for both stories to be true. It does show the differing points of view present. I understand you saying 1 long book and our lack of ability to relate. But again, this is god we're dealing with here. He could have made the law for salvation nothing more than ringing a bell, but he chose instead to sacrifice his son, and many others. My point is, he could have eliminated these inconsistencies, but he did not. Leaving us to believe in an invisible
cont
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@widecelica and a book that's supposed to be perfect, but has these inconsistencies. Some would even call them errors. Or we are damned. We are given so little real evidence, you can see this from your work in law enforcement. God creates people, knowing they will reject him, and yet does it anyway. If he made the rules for salvation, can break them at his whim, and still people go to hell (or are annihilated), he is ultimately responsible. Doesn't that make sense?
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent well, i guess we can assume that "real" evidence is in the eye of the beholder so to speak (as i think we've been able to prove thus far) what we do in law enforcement when we get to a situation like this is we get both stories. we then take everything that is consistant from the victim and the eye witnesses and then we we get a picture of what really happened. if they were both guilty then they both go to jail, however (yes, biblical allusion coming) if the victim (cont.)
widecelica 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent in this scenario decides to drop charges against one, then they are no longer guilty because to have a crime you must have a victim so even if he was beating someone up, they've been "forgiven" thus no longer guilty. those are the eyes i'm seeing it through (obviously because my profession) now when it comes to why did God even bother with us humans when he knew what would happen? i always compare it to something dog breeding. you breed dogs cause you love them (cont.)
widecelica 10 months ago
@ProblemHono and you know that they're gonna tear up some important IRS forms (personal experience) and they're gonna crap on the carpet and you will be very angry most of the time, but in the end you know you brought them into the world (this is weird, maybe kids were a better choice) and no matter how bad they are you still love them and you long for them to have a good relationship with you. maybe that makes sense, without the weird things. just replace dogs with kids and it should be better
widecelica 10 months ago
@widece So if the kids are bad, you put them down? That's what god is doing in the bible; he says "Either belief in me with no solid evidence, and no way to see me, and claims in my book that make no sense, or be damned for eternity. Oh, and by the way, I love you and want you to be happy.".
I fail to see how he could make even 1 person KNOWING 100% that this person would spend eternity in hell, and not change his brain. Make his BS meter a little less accurate. Instead, he made us scientists.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHono well he gave us the ability to make our own choices, which is why we screwed everything up. it's up to us if we spend eternity in hell. like i stated before, he made a way for us... almost everyone knows the way, they just chose either not to believe or they believe but chose against it... that's free will. God doesn't damn us, we damn ourselves, and the minute we stop blaming God and start taking responsibility of the heaviness that entails, the more your eyes will be opened
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica 1st of all, I don't REALLY blame god, I don't believe in any sort of spirits at all. I'm trying to show you the logical fallacy inherent in your theology. For example: If you agree that
1) God created everything, including the laws of salvation
2) God can change things on this earth at his whim
3) God created the mind of every being, knowing their thoughts beforehand
Then I fail to see how god is not ultimately responsible for our damnation.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent well the first problem is with number one... he didn't make a LAW of salvation, he made a WAY for salvation. it's up to US to accept that way or not and God created us with the ability to make our own choices so, to recap: we choose to not accept the way he provided, we then accept the wages of sin, which is death (damnation) and vice-versa
widecelica 10 months ago
@widece OK, the "gift" of salvation. If salvation is a life preserver, who is it who threw us off the boat? God decided what the prerequisites are for salvation. Like I said before, it could have been ringing a bell. Instead, it's believe in an invisible being (one of many, I might add) and "his" book, which is full of inconsistencies and fantastic happenings, or go to hell. And again, he knew 100% what decision we would make, yet made us anyway. Free will and omnipotence don't mix logically.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago

When dealing with reality, they work pretty darn well.
lagerbaer 10 months ago
@lagerbaer no, actually that is all incorrect. if i were you, i would stop assuming you know where my information comes from, that's be the smartest thing you do. second of all, if the evolution theory is correct and dinosaurs did live and were extinct millions of years ago, then why have we found t-rex bones with red blood cells in them and some of the bones not even fossilized yet? please answer me that oh mighty angry evolutionist?
widecelica 10 months ago

The authenticity of her discovery, however, is now generally accepted in the scientific community although the mechanism of the preservation is not well understood" maybe cause it's not 168 million years old?
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica "why didn't people find all this "evidence" of evolution before darwin's theory?"
Why didn't people see all the evidence for atomic power before Einstein's theory? Why didn't people see the evidence for gravity's more subtle effects before Newton's theory? Why didn't people see all the evidence for harnessing electricity before Franklin's experiment? Why didn't people see the usefulness of gunpowder before they saw it?
Do you feel stupid yet?
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent on the contrary. i agree. because science and experimentation was able to prove these things. the science proved them to be true and then they were observed completely... it wasn't assumed from a theory that a man made up with no evidence to back up... at that time or this time.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica We ALL descended from the same life. Bacteria, molds, trees and humans all share the same protein structure for their amino acids. Not just humans. Please, be a doll, and go do some bona fide research. Your attempting to prove the earth is flat. When we have science that USES evolution, there is no longer room for INTELLIGENT debate.
There is room for "debating" flat-earthers, however...
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent hey, if you wanna believe you're a mold then so be it, i however was in no way stating or trying to prove that the earth is flat... in fact the bible does have references to the earth being round or like a circle in at least 3 places... but i'm sure you don't believe that either...
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Never said I was a mold. I said we all were descended from the same original life. ALL life on earth has a common ancestor. If you don't want to look at the TRUTH because it shatters your BELIEFS, then you are willingly delusional, and should be treated for your delusions.
I don't care if the bible said "round face of the earth" or not. It also said that a rapist should pay his victim's father 30 pieces of silver, and then marry his victim. Do you believe that too? Progressive, eh?
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@widecelica The bible also got simple shit wrong... Read the ENTIRE Noah's ark story, and then answer this question: How many of each bird did Noah bring on the boat?
Or if the 2 thieves crucified with Jesus both recognized him a Christ, or if 1 did, and 1 did not. Or who Cain had to fear so badly that he needed god to mark him to protect him?
Or why the earth came before the sun, or the animals before the plants, or...
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemH... 7 pairs of every kind of birds a male and female to keep the various kinds alive throughout the earth... what about it? i could be a bit rusty but i think one denied him and mocked him and the other one did recognize him as messiah and repented. Cain feared the other people on the earth... brothers and sisters and possibly some distant relatives... remember, adam and eve were told to go forth and multiply. sun came after because God chose it to. light doesn't only come from the sun
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Bible says both 7 and 2 birds, bible says in Mat that the theives both mocked him, and in Luke 1 did while 1 did not., So Cain was afraid of his BROTHERS AND SISTERS??? He says "They will know I am an exile, and will kill me." So, how come his family would KNOW he was an exile if they too had left the home of Adam? Use logic, eh? And the sun coming before the earth "because god told it to". is a STUPID COP OUT. Science has PROVEN the sun existed before the earth. Bible= Lies.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent lol, says 7 and 2? i told you and the bible says.... 7 kinds of birds and a male and female of each. 7 birds and 7 kinds of birds are different. at first they both mocked but then one repented (turned away from) and the other did not. they were told from different perspectives but the same story. about cain, yes, they would kill him cause he killed their brother abel! how is that not logical? if you had a brother and someone killed him you wouldn't wanna kill him? and how...
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica And they would know he killed Abel HOW? Fedex? Email? Are you ignorant as hell? THERE WERE NO PEOPLE TO SPREAD THE NEWS! And you SAY Matthew only got half the story, and Luke the other, eh? So I guess Matthew had to leave early, and Luke got there late, huh? Not like it was an important day or anything...
And reread it CLOSELY! You will see the CONTRADICTION of numbers of birds on Noah's ark. Or you aren't reading it...
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent genesis 7:3 "and also seven pairs of every kind of bird, male and female, to keep their various kinds alive throughout the earth." did i miss something? the brothers and sisters were there at the same time seeing as adam lived 930 years "multiplying", that's a lot of people being born and also multiplying. again, read and understand!!!! i said they were different perspectives! quit twisting my words or i will stop answering your childish questions! in ref to the rape...
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Genesis 6:20 "Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. "
I believe you already quoted the 7 of each bird verse...
Never seen that one before, eh?
And I understand that Matthew and Luke had different perspectives... But the TRUTH is not subjective, it is objective. And if the bible is god's PERFECT book, human perceptions shouldn't cloud the TRUTH.
Just sayin...

ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent one thing i like about the bible is that unlike the science books, it's never been rewritten to fix or modify a belief. i did read that the original atomic theory by john dalton originally said that atoms could not be destroyed... but now a days they say that they can, so that had to be rewritten too. big shocker.
widecelica 10 months ago
@w Yes, unlike religion, science is able to correct itself when it is wrong. Thankfully, it is right more often then not. That's why your car, PC, phone, hairdryer, etc work.
Religion is stuck with whatever it says. The bible says a rapist should marry his victim, and you can't do anything but IGNORE it. You don't like the Sabbath law, so you IGNORE it. You don't like that god condones slavery, so you IGNORE it. All the babies god ordered Joshua to kill? IGNORED!
Quite a "faith" you got there.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent well, first of all, look, up the definition of faith. religion, beliefs and faith mean different things. also, i addressed the whole rape/victim thing, just read, it wasn't ignored. i never said i didn't like the sabbath law. are you talking about human slavery? you mean the jews that were slaves in egypt that God delivered? hmm, read more. again, different times, but God sent certain people (joshua) to establish his land for his people. he did what had to be done.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Yeah, I looked, I'm not seeing you "rape" reply... As for ONE animal that has been observed to change SPECIES (Don't try that Hovind 'kind' crap) the cichlid fishes are one. Faeroe Island House Mouse is another, just for fun. And god laid down LAWS for slavery in the OT. God also ordered BABIES MURDERED to establish Israel? And you praise him?!?
You're more delusional then I thought. And you DO IGNORE the part where it says "women learn in submission", and the part about 144,000...
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent in reference to the slavery again, that was old testament completely different time. and the women learning in submission? it tells women to submit to their husbands, also tells husbands to love their wives like Christ loves the church... what of it?
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica Electrical theory, theory of relativity, theory of gravity, theory of electricity and magnetism, theory of plate tectonics, theory of atomic structure...
Point is, a theory is not just a hypothesis. In science, a theory is the result of hundreds of repeatable experiments, all of which point to the same thing, with no evidence against it. None whatsoever. Or it is no longer a theory.
So please, go educate yourself in a proper school. Not a Christian one.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@widecelica And of course, all other scientists immediately jumped the wagon on this man made theory without evidence to back up just so they could piss off god.
lagerbaer 10 months ago
@widecelica Why don't you try researching evolution instead of taking some creationist's word for it. If I was to study Christianity, should I study from a pastor, or should I study from an atheist? That's how you study evolution; You listen to creationists without researching the other side. Otherwise, you couldn't say it takes more faith to believe in evolution. ALL of the science points to it, and it works with applied sciences. Does the bible have any applications? Besides joint paper.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent angry Atheist number 2:i've done plenty of reading of evolution but i prefer non-fiction reading material actually. youre right, if i was going to study evolution thoroughly i would go to an evolutionary biologist or something close to that, not arguing with athiests on youtube, but this is more entertaining. "ALL" science? "applied sciences" no sir (or ma'am) there is no applied science, because if it was it would already be proven, which it is not. there are assumptions...
widecelica 10 months ago
@wid Bioinformatics, resistance management in both medicine and agriculture, evolutionary theory is used to manage fisheries to greater yields, quantitative trait locus mapping, and sex allocation theory are all fields of science that evolution is used in or is the basis of the science itself. It is also used in generating computer programs (based on evolutionary algorithms), and it has been used in many other ways, as well.
You have been lied to.
Google "practical applications of evolution."
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent i in no way disagree with science because the science that you can actually prove coincides with the bible and does not contradict it. that being said, these computer programs were built by someone with knowledge, they didn't magically appear. information can be added if there's a source for the information. and don't get science mixed up with the belief of evolution. things adapt to their enviroments and they can die out, but they never "evolve". don't get confused.

@ProblemHonorStudent (continued) ...made in order to arrive to your conclusion. there was no eye witness or even a written historical document from the time that sludge became man. hence the more faith needed to believe evolution. believe it or not, more science is actually pointing to creation, not evolution, but of course no matter what i show you or tell you you will never believe me. that's where the term "blind faith" comes in; you believe without wanting to see.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica This is what's funny; You claim I have no evidence, but it is you that are believing in a book of myths. Why don't you believe the Egyptian account of creation? Or the Greek? It is a book of myths! Evidence for evolution abounds; The lack of an eyewitness not withstanding. We didn't have an eyewitness to atoms before we split them, did we? But the PRACTICAL APPLICATION made it FACT, no longer debatable. The jury is in, evolution happened. There is SOLID EVIDENCE.
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago

ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent yes you did, and i love you you took it straight off the website. that being said, what i saw were even more assumptions about how with this theory we will be able to eventually maybe figure this out. that's not proof, that's just more assumptions. i said proof, not ideas.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica I took it straight from the website because it is easier than paraphrasing. Sheesh! And no, there were not assumptions. READ the articles, and research each one you want to. You will see we are WAY past the assumption phase of evolution, and well into the practical side of it. I gave you a list of sciences that use evo, and I gave you a phrase to google to see how many species we have actually WITNESSED evolve.
The sciences are PROVEN, not hypothetical. READ IT PLEASE!!!
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago

So either god's tricking us...
ProblemHonorStudent 10 months ago
@ProblemHonorStudent i agree.we all did descend from the same life. the bible says so. adam and eve. that's what i've been saying! thanks for the support.
widecelica 10 months ago
@widecelica "because the bible has not yet been wrong ..."
OK, so in Genesis, when it says that there was the earth, and then there was light, and then there was the removal of the waters, and then the sun and moon and stars were formed...
Light without a source. A planet flying around in space with no star. Water covering the earth.
These things have all been proven to be false. As well as talking snakes and asses, rising from the dead, walking on water, etc.
It is a book of MYTHS!

Love this parody.

Is this a new low for atheists? No, they have always been this low.
YHWHisSovereign 11 months ago
@YHWHisSovereign This low?? This is just for fun. If you don't have a sense of humor then don't watch it. I warn you about one thing. A rational atheist can rip your fancy, cosy world apart with simple questions. So, don't mess with us. :D

@hailtheempire What are the questions?

@hailtheempire I disagree.

hahaha just read a comment there where the brainbox says of course the bible has flaws but it was written by man and men have flaws, but he or she says god spoke to these writers and they still managed to fuck it up,if a big bearded head stuck out of the clouds and started telling me something i would make pretty damm sure i got it wrote word perfect.

You just changed the video too. Kirk Cameron is not an atheist, The original is where He debunks atheism not Christianity. I cannot believe you would go through all that trouble just to satisfy your atheism.

@meeene4
