Maybe I'm missing out on something, but have never seen anyone else doing TJW's music, besides Tina Turner doing this song?? Cheers Cheryl, South Australia. PS. Love TJW's Blues style music!x
@abe4u79 yeah, i know he wrote and oplayed on a couple of Tina's albums. Mistakenly thought he produced one. But steamy windows is classic MK sound and style. He actually played lead on Foreign Affair single.
@shubbaz He produced/wrote the songs for Tina's CD "Foreign Affair" ............:) This man is a genius. Wrote a lot of songs for others.....Saw him live last weekend at age of 67, still blues on top. God bless him.
As someone who grew up (partially) in Bossier City, LA, I can say this boy is a classic example of the great musicians that Loooosiana has given the world. Great song.
cool....I'm actually from Mangham but live in Bossier now....we opened up for Tony at the first Poke Salad festival in Oak Grove, La. and man what an awsome musician & song writer he is. All he had on stage with him was an old tele plugged into an old black face twin & his harmonica...no band behind him, just Tony! the old movie theater was standing room only...and the crowd loved it! He is one cool cat!
I'm hoping to be in Bossier City in October or November for a high school reunion. Hoping to find a good club to visit for some great music. Maybe even an open mike night. I jam every Wednesday night and play at an open mike night every other Thursday. Been having fun with that. Remembering my days in The Tremolos in the 60's. Used to play The Elks Club in S'port and college frats, etc.
I've loved TJW's music since Soul Francisco, Rainy Night in Georgia, Polk Salad Annie, Willie and Laura Mae Jones and all the other early stuff he wrote. He sure did come before Mark K by 10 years or so.
I've listened to about 10 Tony Joe White songs and I keep hearing parts of rifs that sound a lot like Mark Knoffler's playing. Who came first, Tony or Mark? I think it was probably Tony J, but does anyone know for sure?

Tina wouldn't have had a version of this song if Tony Joe hadn't wrote it. Remember that.

Definately TJ. He has played with the coolest old school r&b artists. I think he is one of the sexiest men in the music game.

Tony is older and has been around longer, so you do the math

Well, as much as I prefer Tony Joe White, Tina Turner has actually got three years on him in the age stakes...
