this is the quadrupedal robot made by boston dynamic. imo this robot is much closer to real life application than Asimo. i've never seem someone kick Asimo to see if it can stay up but this one can.

No, the first step should be to discern what you are designing the robot for. An all terrain robot needs to be more advanced in certain areas than a robot that will be interacting with humans. Why should a hospital robot need to climb over rubble?

As robots become more commonplace, their collective abilities will start to even out and work in new environments. But we're not there yet.

I've always hoped that when (if?) I got old, I'd have a robot to help me. No one wants to be a burden and robotic assistance could give the elderly more independence. Also, robots (unless programmed) will not abuse the elderly like some humans do in convalescent care facilities. The applications for advanced robotics to help people are enormous. Hopefully, the weaponization of robots will be kept to a minimum otherwise, the chance of any of us growing old becomes less and less.

The only major military aggressor in the world these days seems to be USA, and they are using war robots that don't look anything like humanoids (more like humvees). A lot of people in here are saying hey nurses need to be human.I disagree for 50% because most nurses just do their job(unemotional)otherwise they would get crazy,simple because they don't care.
