  • Oh god that tripod on the m240 looks Heeeavvvyy!

  • @imachavel M240 - 7.62X51 M249 - 5.56 Yes the m240 is 30 cal, heavy and as you can see crew served. M249 is a squad weapon carried by one person, SAW you have 200 in the drumb, on the M240 its 100 rounds in the bandoleer or 250 in a can. Good video thanks for posting Airforce.

  • What's the difference in the two guns? Just the style?

  • @dcpinner

    No, go look it up.

  • I was allowed to shoulder both at the airshow... the m249 is about 20lbs, the m240b is like 30lbs. Rough estimate. I couldn't carry these into combat, I'd die.

  • @renardthatch I bet ya could with some good ol' exercise! lol

  • GET SOME!

  • i know what i like better

  • BAD ASS VIDEO. that fires the .30 cal round? or more often stated, the 300 round?

  • no matter how heavy they are they do one hell of job on zombies

  • I wonder why the military doesn't fully standardize this weapon to fulfill all machine gun roles, seeing as how its a general purpose machine gun. Sure there are some problems like the weight and the heat shield, but those don't seem like hard fixes.

  • GET SOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • wheres the t&e ?

  • Yeah, the m240 ain't an LMG its an MMG, a Medium machine gun.....

  • The M240 is an amazing variant of the MAG 58. Belgian engineering and design plus American modification and know how equals on hell of a gun!

  • GODDAMN I love the sound of those fuckers. hope i'm the one to handle one of them bitches if i go over seas.

  • God those M249's are some of the sexiest guns ever

  • @unforgivingdemon thanks alot I just checked this video again after like 5 months haha

  • m240 we just call it the gpmg

  • yay brass detail!

  • those bitches get real damn heavy real damn fast

  • How many are issued per sqaud in the Marines (M249)?

  • @softly93 3 M249s per squad in the Marines and 2 per squad in the Army.

  • the m240 is a heavy mother... i like the m249's looks better

  • how long is the range?

  • @wes723ley For the -240, it's 800 metres with the standard setup (bipod), and on a tripod in the Supporting Fire config., it's 1800 metres. Roughly 600 metres for the -249.

  • m240 is a sexy gun

  • Love the sound of the M249 and M240 :D

  • grow some fkn balls, mikey c

  • I'm glad the guy didn't give in when they were "no balls"ing him. He's trying to work on his accuracy with it and they just want a long burst. Normally it's fun to no balls a guy, but the guy saying it was just so freakin' annoying.

  • Was the guy shooting the weapon, a civilian shooting for fun or a soldier training? I'm confused because he didn't seem to confident with the M240

  • Looks like Air Force SP's so it's probably either their first time or first time in a while.

  • yep theyre air force u can tell by the rank insignia

  • The M240 is not light!! lol

  • @uns33nshadow it is a light machine gun, or LMG, it is called a light machine gun because it is portable, they have the mounted guns that are much heavier than these firearms, making these light, and those really fucking heavy

  • wow good description you know so much about this weapon.. you probably carry it all the time!! sit down and color boy lol but that's not what i was talking about.. but it's still a heavy weapon because the amount of volume of rounds it dishes out.. I wouldn't go room clearing with this weapon because it is heavy

  • eh i really dont know alot about it, ive fired it, walked with it, cleaned it, but never really looked at the INDIVIDUAL weapon itself, i just happen to be a major fan of the gun class, LMG

  • @partynmyjeans actually ur wrong the M-240 is a MMG (Medium Machine Gun) or a GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun) which means it can be used it multiple roles, whether that is mounted or carried

  • Got that right; about 33 lbs for the gun alone, and then 2x 220-round belts....don't know about the 240, but the Cdn C6 version has an adjustable gas regulator and the rate of fire can be changed between 400-1200 rpm.

  • @bluecollarcanuck The M240 has the same adjustable regulator.

  • @PlumpSquirrel Yeah, I know. To correct my above mistake, though, I think the max. rate of fire for the -240 is 950 rpm. The MG3 is set at 1200. (Also, the -249's only has 2 settings- 750 and 1000. At least, the Cdn. C-9 does.)

  • @uns33nshadow 25lbs. not too bad lol just need the arms to carry it all day. the M240 is extremely reliable. worth the weight if you ask me.

  • @uns33nshadow Of course not, its a GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun)...

  • sounds like my BB gun

  • Won't sound like your BB gun when you're behind the trigger firing 100 round belt, bud.

  • u sure? slick

  • i was issued my M-240 last week.....so far i love it....any advice for me would be appreciated...

  • wear tight sleaves when firing prone :D

  • wow that was a pretty fast barrel change and i agree the M240 has to be one of the best light machine guns

  • beautiful sounding weapons....

  • nice guns. where can civilians get them?

  • I thought you were supposed to fire the M60 for AT LEAST 3 seconds to PREVENT it from jamming, so firing short bursts should not be an old M60 habit of his. If anything, the M240 should handle short bursts better than the M60.

  • The best thing i was ever told was say "die motherfucker, die" for each burst, or those who go to church "run fuzzy bunny, run" and it will prevent the jamming, unless your weapon is dirty. I loved the M240 more than my 203. Great weapon , feels like it has a soul

  • i vouch the m-240 any day. i carried it for two years. the rate of fire is adjustable. it will fire under almost any conditon. it will suck weeds through the feed tray while firing, and keep on going. it just spits out salad on the other side. i have fired it while its full of sand and dust in the desert. upside down, wet, you name it. it is also deadly accurate at long ranges. easy to disassemble and clean. i love it. =)

  • its retarded how surprisingly accurate the m249 is.

  • how heavy is it?

  • 24 pounds dry

  • I love the sound of automatic gunfire

  • has anyone tried da m2 50. cal b4?? man itz awsome!! ,

  • at 1:19, he said u gat no balls if u dun pull da trigger back!! :DD

  • okay. i admit. i replied before i watched the whole vid. they start tripod then go bipod. but anyway, the gun weighs almost 30 lbs and it has a buffer spring and whatnot, so that helps with recoil a lot.

  • it's on a tripod, dumbass

  • uh. this is my job. and these guys suck.

  • i am guessing shooting M240 is a good job in infantry unit

  • @JARHEADdog

I know this is like a super old comment...

but, it depends, you are usually the first person to be targeted, and it sucks carrying around extra rounds and barrels..all that shit gets heavy fast.

  • ya i know, but our life is never easy we MARINES live a dangerous life and ment to take all the pain and suffering

  • @GreazMonkay89 That's why teamwork is essentil I.E. Barrle bearers and ammo bearers, give s the enemy someone else to shoot at

  • damn that looks funner then hell

  • this will be my job in marines after i come out of boot camp,to shoot m240 bravo

  • the Marines use the M240G instead. there is no specific MOS in the Marines to shoot the M240b.I'm assuming your going into the Infantry

  • ya i ll be infantry unit

    gonna F&^&& THOSE TERRISTS

  • the mos is 0331- use of the M240G,MK19, and the 50 cal browning..infantry is seperate

  • Nice Video, Nice Sounds :)

  • i love the m240

  • who are they the army or marines?

  • They are Air Force Security Forces and Combat Arms Instructors.

  • Nice i love the M240, it's powerful but very stable machine gun

  • M240 is a dream. Hardly any moving parts. Easy to field strip and clean. Barrel change out easy. Hard to overheat. Gotta love it.

  • And it's unique roar is awesome on the video it sounds the same as any other weapon but in person that thing is loud as hell !!

  • M240 is the US designation for the British GPMG and I've heard former SAS say its the best machine gun in the world. Good stuff

  • I say the MG3/42 is the best but the M240 is still second best. Rate of fire being the reason.

  • m240 haves faster muzzle velocity

  • The M240 and MG3 use both the same 7.62X51 NATO rounds, so they have the same muzzle velocity of 2800 ft per second.

  • sorry no

mg42 shoots 855 metters per senod

m240 shoots 905 metters per second

  • The MG42 and MG3 use different rounds. Your confusing the 2. The MG42 uses the 7.92X57mm Mauser, the M240 and MG3 use the 7.62X51 NATO, they both hit about as hard though.

  • Only if the barrel length and rifling are the same.

  • Huh?
