Outline your ideas about voluntarism for me. How does 1 bang out a medium of exchange in this construct if all we're doing is trading? If you're suggesting a demolition of this system, that's fine. I'm not exactly on board but that's fine. I think there's some valuable ideas & lessons that can be salvaged from this ameri-freemarket-newrepublic experiment.
Double standard is alive for the Dems. Twice they have manipulated the system, ignored voters, to get their man in no matter the voters rights! Talk about crooks! Thanks for reminding us!
I'll tell you what gets worse! Go live in Iran or Libya or North Korea and seehow you like it! Bush, gave it all he had to protect this nation. And, It is the Dems who allowed the fall of Fannie-Freddie! They helped your retirement hit the toilet. We need to start thinking of the nation and its security, and sure, reform things, but bashing Bush, will not qualify as an inteligent comeback for th Dems creating their own rules. They eat their own. Look at Hillary! She got spit out!
Bush protected the nation? Are you stupid. Ya letting 9/11 happen is protecting us sending thousands of troops to Iraq for no reason is protecting us.
Don't give me bullshit bud. you just hate Democrats. You don't care about the US you just care about republicans and the destruction of the states.
I am not your bud! And I don't give BS, but you sure know how to dish it. I once hosted La Donna Harris when she ran with Barry Commoner! I was once an anti-nuke activist! You have no clue what I know. I care about the country and believe it is time for fiscal responsibility, and strong national security! PS Those 9-11 terrorists did their training during the Clinton Years! Saddahm was sick, and used WPMs and would have again! But, Have a nice Day!
Bush new about the attacks and didn't believe they could happen. Well guess what buddy???? it happened. If you cared about the country then you wouldn't like Bush. But since you do like Bush you obviously don't give two shits about the US, since he single handily destroyed it in 8 years. And made the top 10 list for the most hated people of the 20th century.
you like a man that was ranked with Hitler, Saddam Hussein, and Stalin
Where did you get your education? People of the conservative side whether they like Bush or not, love their country too! You all in Mass. make up your own rules to vote in people just because you are Democrats! Today! Yet when Romney was Gov. your Democrats voted to block an appointment! Bush did not destroy this nation! But the Left extreme will! You can count on the infiltration of our education system, and many other areas. Bush may not have been perfect, but Dems control Congress!
republicans controlled congress with Bush and helped him kill the US. Rightr now Democrats control office and try to fix every thring republicans got this country into. War in Iraq, Economy and like I said if bush stopped 9/11 we would also not be in Afghanistan.
Bush was the worst president in history. Actually one of the worst leaders in history. I served in the Air force under him. I served for the US constitution and never him.
And Romney also destroyed Mass. one word BIG DIG. look it up.
Way to Democrats. You have officaly made Ass your Kingdom in which you can do whatever you want. To Hell with the Two Party system, I like your style. I hate your party, but hey I dont live in that Kingdom the Democrats have built for themselfs. Oh one last thing, I'll be intersted in seeing just how the elections go next year.
I like NFPs because I like the idea of not paying taxes. I also like the idea of people interacting with people instead of people being subjugated by "the system". I'm also all about having people working; to me, that's pulling 1's own weight- nothing is more psychologically empowering.
Of course subsidy doesn't help the poor. It's actually tantamount to enabling. But I'm suggesting it as a micro business under an NFP heading. Hell, that could even generate a few jobs; somebody's gotta man the cash registers. Somebody's gotta administrate it all.
But ultimately, I'm not talking about a subsidy, I'm talking about a means to empower everyday people.
Then again, we could just start NFP, resale markets. Kinda like a Goodwill but there's only 1 initial buyer then it's resold in a tax shelter-type setup.
Well I think free marketeering is just outsider capitalism. Some call that crime or racketeering but that's never really bugged me. Nevertheless, there's another problem with the free market though, enough money can buy the state's favor. That doesn't put everyone at the same advantage. That's part of the problem. That's why I think we need some moderate regulations. At best, I save the little monies & can for a rainy day & get ready for the worst.
Actually, I'm optimistic about the economy. Honestly, I think the free market is a good model but it's not the perfect model. How many libertarians does it take to screw in a lightbulb? None. The free market will screw in the lightbulb.
I'm reminded of Yunus's analogy about the free market being like a superhighway without a speed limit; it doesn't work well. Remember, even the Autobahn is regulated; rather, it's got much needed advisory limits.
Hmm, that's a little better. Believe it or not, that's ultimately where humanity will be if we don't kill each other 1st. Eventually, we'll have enough cures for disease & access to resource & means of producing energy that we won't need gov't or money. But that's a long way into the future. People don't hate you, this generation just isn't ready to wrap it's mind around your theory.
Secession? I can't get on board with tearing stars off the flag. But I genuinely understand & appreciate why you feel that way. Between the inept feds & wasted tax money, I'd be pissed too.
If I understand your notion of voluntarism, it's great in theory but difficult to sustain in practice. BUT, it's a fine ideal & should be considered while developing new theory. I'm DEFINITELY digging that.
I think unplugging & finding passive ways of survival are the only way to stick it to the man. In a perfect world, we'd all have own land & have ot work it ourselves. I think about Tyler Durden's speeches about khakis. I also think about the whole bit about venison, leather pants & vines growing out of the Sears Tower.
Is that the exact answer? Probably not. But I think there's some elements we can incorporate into our ever-evolving theory.
Massachusetts Democrats are hypocrites because they voted to take the power to appoint an interim senator away from the governor, just a few short years ago, when it seemed that John Kerry might be elected President and Massachusetts' sitting governor, Republican Mitt Romney, would name the interim successor.
The argument has all of the maturity of a grade school playground fight -- "You did it to me, so I can do it right back!"
2004: Rep. Ruth Balser votes against Romney appointing an interim senator if John Kerry became POTUS. On the house floor Balser balked, "Its a job that by definition cannot be replaced except by a choice of the people. A governor cannot appoint someone to represent the voters."
2009: Balser votes to change 2004 ruling, defending her vote to reporters with, "I have not changed my position. I'm taking a very consistent position." What a screwball!
Massachusetts needs to oust Gov. Patrick, who gave biotech industry $1 billion in corporate welfare yet failed to provide even $1 of promised property-tax relief, but instead slapped us with a $1 billion sales tax hike. Bill Weld cut taxes 41 times and reformed welfare, whereas Governor Patrick has a knack for putting people in an anti-incumbent mood. Voters are growing weary of learning the hard way, despite Democrat roots, that Deval and his crony liberal lawmakers cannot be trusted.
President Obama pushed Massachusetts lawmakers to rescind the 2004 election law to allow Governor Deval Patrick to appoint an interim senator to fill Edward M. Kennedys Senate seat, insinuating himself yet again into Massachusetts affairs, which are none of his business, but this issue is definitely in his self-serving interest. Voter regret anyone? Obama get lost will ya?
luk our Govt and our politicans are fucking our world up,y? why do we let them? why dont we unite as people to overthrow these pricks, i mean what kind of Country state or whatever keeps secrets from its own citizens, thats just not right we need to get rid of our people in the Govt and replace em with people of the new age who actually understand the peoples needs instead of their own prostitudehunting asses. they probably use our money to pay for their hookers those cheap fuks. lets organize
If you're saying that we need to do away with the IRS, I'm on board too... sort of. We still need a way of procuring money; that's a reality of being a citizen. But I totally agree that the coercive nature of such bodies is all wrong.
Like I said, the power is actually infrastructural, the elected officials are just cogs. You could plug anyone into their jobs & we'd still get the same yield. In the end, some things get done but most don't.
So I guess I'm asking you about your own model of leadership. What's your platform? If it's small gov't, that's cool w/me. There's a myth that leftism means big gov; nothing could be further from the truth. Is your platform to dissociate money from gov, I'm there. But tell me.
Well my approach to avoiding the coercion & disorder is simple: I don't let it bother me that much. Most of all, I work to empower myself such that politics don't affect me. If that means pursuing energy/food independence or getting out from under a mortgage/car note or being prepared for a crisis, that's what I do. But I don't complain about politicians because I ain't interested in running for office. If you plan on running, lemme know your platform.
I guess I'm saying that politics are a part of life. If it's at work, at civic admin or on the fed/global level, it's all politics. With that, I think you may agree (although that realization offers no solution to the "coercion & disorder" as you cogently remarked).
He just said that he would vote "for His causes"(meaning Kennedy's), then he said he would "give my very best efforts"...Doing the bidding of a dead Kennedy requires no effort at all, does it. Just vote the party line and that's it...That's all Kennedy every did. So this goon is going to do whatever John Kerry tells him to do. Yet another rubber stamp in the Senate.
Agreed, coercion & disorder suck. BUT, politicians are people in the sense that they're flawed, sentient beings. They're people in the sense that they can be brilliant & boneheaded at the same moment. Nevertheless, we aren't "giving" them power per se. We elect them. The system that mandated them (& us) was designed & set long before any of us were conceived
Irrespective, leadership will always have an element of politics. Like life, we peons are stuck dealing with situations piecemeal.
Somebody's gotta run things. We've seen what happens when people are left to their own device without governing laws or a governing body. I agree, politicians aren't great. But who else is gonna do it? Are YOU going to run for office? Let me know what your platform is.
Believe it or not, I tend bar at nights (I live in CO). But yeah, I'll have ot check your channel for more insight. Until then, peace.
