one thing that buggs me about this game, they didn't put the final stage music in the options screen.

I remember renting this game from Blockbuster, getting to the end, and having no idea how to throw Scar off the edge. Even tried setting my controller to auto-fire so Simba would keep attacking him while I had dinner. No dice. Should've known it was something as simple as attack+jump.

Yeah, I definitely like the music from the Genesis/Mega Drive version better. The SNES version does have better voice quality when it comes to spoken parts though (that doesn't include Simba's roar, that actually sounds better here).

Omg If youtube existed 14 years ago, i wouldnt had spent more than half unfinishable hour to kill Scar by accident with the throw move... that made me dream with Scar that one night

This was such a classic! I remember getting to this stage and getting my ass kicked by Scar a lot. Finally got lucky and threw him off the ledge. I gotta play this game again someday.

I noticed an odd detail about the TLK games.

In the one for the PS1, whenever you see Scar in the gameplay, he's missing the tufts of hair on his shoulders.

In this one, you dont see Scar's shoulder hair either.

I remember playing this when I was like 6 or something, and the level that got too before my Sega Genisis broke was the "Hakuna Matata" Level. It sucks not being able to play the very last level for me. But I was the one that got the furthest on this game compared to my sisters so I'm proud to say that I got kinda far. lol

As a young boy I played this gabe but I didn't succeed in finishing it. I've finished it today even thanks to youtube which has hepled me in the moments of the game I didn't know what to do...thanks for posting:)

Indeed. The only hilarious thing I remember about it is that when you fall to your death, Mufasa says "What are you doing, Simba?" :DD

LOL I never got the chance to actually play it, but from every video I saw it looked like fail.

They never made a good 3D game for TLK, except for one, but it's a fan made game, and not really strictly lion king (in fact they try and avoid any direct association with the movie) called "Impressive Title" by KovuLKD. It's worth a look, and has quite a large population

I played this as a kid and I haven't touched it since then. Seeing it again REALLY brings back memories, and the music is just so memorable, it's amazing.

i remember when i used to have this game it took me a month to complete hakuna matata cos i always died on the waterfall and then it took me another month to complete simbas return cos i used tog et lost in the caves but it was still a fantastic game

This game is sooo good, but so hard for a kids game!

It's the same with Mickey Mania...I'm sure Disney games at the time were just immensly hard for no reason. Maybe they were trying to appeal to all markets...My Dad used to enjoy these games :P

You know, it's so funny, I never liked Disney movies or really anything about Disney but the games were great--fun to play, challenging, and usually minor technical miracles on the Sega.
