  • is it just me, or do ALL expert village videos SUCK?

  • Genius comparing $600 with $4000 equipment...of course the much much pricier Moog sounds different.

I think Expert Village needs a new expert. lol

  • This is a very poor video.

The Juno is poorly showcased, synthesis is poorly explained, & Moog is poorly pronounced. What's the point?

    Expert Village... indeed.

  • Wow, these are some real in-depth tips. Maybe next time you can show us how to turn a Casio on.

  • MOOOOOOOOOG!!!!

Howd'ya like that 'Mogue' fans :P

  • i think that people expect less talking and more action with the keyboard demonstration

  • Sounds like Everybody loves Raymond

  • Its pronounced like Vogue. Its mogue!

  • this dude sounds like raymond from everybody loves raymond lmfao

  • just.. no words...

  • Before I even got my first synth, I learned the hard way thet Moog was pronounced "MOUGUE" In my opinion, Moog by itself sounds better "MEWG" but Minimoog sounds better "MOUGUE"

  • Moog sounds cooler than mouge.

  • rhymes with vogue, not a cow's noise with a g at the end. EXPERT VILLAGE MY ASS

  • Wich Moog and Arp?

  • this guy sounds exactly like that indian dude of super troopers! agreed?

  • hahahahaha, agreed.

  • Stop Saying MEWG!

  • @rob909e : Stop being pretentious. Not everyone get's how it's pronounced. Maybe Robert Moog was the one who fucked up by naming his synth after his last name which he knew no-one would pronounce correctly. He was born in New York and should have known that no-one in the US pronounces "oo" as "oh".

On top of that... he made up a word "fooger" and now expects us to pronounce that with an "oh" sound too!!! WTF?! I think Robert Mogue is the problem here.

  • what can u expect from a sausage roll... probably an illegal in the UK

  • What are those tips?? you got me wondering!

  • hey I really need help with this and it's probably a stupid question but I recently bought a juno 6 and it was going fine until yesterday when it went completely out of tune.I'm aware there is a wheel for tuning on the back but all it just makes the out of tune keys more out of tune.

What can i do to get it back in tune?

  • dude can't even say moog right.

  • wow, so many keys and buttons and sliders to control

    all that 6 voices.

...just like the mooog and the arp...

thanx for the lesson - 1 star !

  • Didn't really show me much... but thanks i guess

  • is that kermit I hear?

  • I know how to play on these keys and I'm not like these mutherfuck3rs who wasting time just hunting for this stuff on ebay. I hate people who making this stupid movies which saying how to play keyboard, how to ride a dirt bike how to fuck your neighbors wife and whatever. I know how to do that so fuck u stupid people who needs these stupid advices for doing every thing. Screw you and piss off this shit.

  • You are COMPLETELY right! (y)

  • Then why do you watch this f**n movie? Why don't you stop wasting your precious time and go play your synth if you're so good at it. The heck, why don't you go f**k yourself. Prick.

  • WoOw, you're a rebel polishmade!

  • I should stock on a dozen of these and hype them up on youtube til they're worth 2k a pop on ebay!

    because you're mbaaa sheeep.

  • also the 60 has dcb, and a different hpf

  • what's the difference between juno6 & juno60?

  • the 60 has patch memory, the 6 doesn't

  • Recently I have purchased Juno-6 and now after playing her for several weeks I love her so much. May be the simplest synth ever.

She can be fat, she can be huge, or bright, funny and jolly. Extremely beautiful chorus. Real Roland masterpiece.

  • The oscillators aren't analog. They are divide-down digital clock pulses referenced from a master oscillator and shaped by a waveshaper. it was a good idea, revolutionary, I think. I like the juno 6 and 60 best.

  • Yes, this is a DCO based synth. But the oscillators are analog on this. The only actual thing digital, is the tuning. So it has analog oscillators, just they're digitally tuned.

  • no. when you pop one open, you can't solder jack points for purposes of voltage to pitch control to an oscillator because there aren't any oscillators in it. What there are are two chips, each one able to divide the master clock to three independent musical frequencies, via a lookup table, hence the six voices. If they were analog, one could skip the midi or DCB interface altogether, and put CV/Gate jacks to allow them to patch it into their modular.

  • I have a hard time believing this. The lack of solder contacts for CV does not make the oscillators themselves digital, they're just digitally controlled. You need to have a VCO to have solder contacts, like the molex pins available on a Jupiter-4..

  • The jupiter 4 uses a 555 clock and a few other components as an oscillator. It only makes a pulse wave, but it is analog in execution. After the 555, there are waveshapers.

The juno works on a similar method in that a master oscillator is divided into lower pitches via the two clock divider chips. While these clock dividers do have solder connections, they would not react to DC current in any way.

This is why juno pitch is mathematically perfect. On a true VCO, this is impossible.

  • It pisses me off when people say Moog like Moo-g. It's pronounced like Mogue. (I tell people that it rhymes with rogue)

  • Even Robert Moog accepts the pronouciation in this video now because everybody pronouces it incorrectly

  • i just bought a juno 6 and they rule. this is the worst video i've ever seen and i feel dumber for having watched it.

  • WoW, now I know why the lessons are free, they dont actually teach you anything. But lets be honest, do you really need to be taught how to use a Juno 6?

  • Watch me move sliders around and act like I know what I'm talking bout. Im an EX-PERT. woo wee look at me. This video teaches nothing except how little this person knows about "Moog" and "Arp".

  • Well said.

  • Moog is pronounced like Vogue with an M.

  • Dr. Moog prefered the pronounciation of "Mogue", but also accepted the pronounciation of "Moog". The real pronounciation was some harsh Dutch derivative that sounded like "Mahwk".

  • Beautiful synth. Magnificent maaan...that's why I bought another one after selling my first one due to...STUPIDITY!

    This keyboard rulzz!

  • What osc shape is that?
