Recrustista: Many would think that coffee, raspberries, blueberries and grapes are handpicked crops. The reality is they are all these crops have been mechanized because those 7 billion people are not willing or eager to go out and pick. The reality is we cannot afford to hand harvest our fuel.

Come on guys... Jatropha curcas is a hand-harvested plant if I ever saw one. With very close to 7B people on the Earth, most of them in areas suitable for Jatropha, that is lots of hands! And I bet they could have gotten more ripe ones, and less green ones, at better than 1-2 km an hour! LOL

the fruits are totally ripe and I wouldn't recommend to harvest them earlier. THey have a higher oil content if they are approxemately yellow. But I got another question: How much percent of the fruits have not been harvested, after the harvester passed the shurbs and have you recognized any injures at the plants after harvesting? Thanks for answers

Where is that and what age are those plants? They look like 1-2 years old. It also looks that the fruits are over ripe, so they detach from the plant easier; do you have any video to see the harvester in operation when the fruit is green at the peak of oil content?
