I identify with this song through vulenerability and cadence. The music is beautiful and digs deep into my soul. My grandpa died last July. The next day when I woke up and the pain started to work its way into my heart and mind, the melody of this song kept me company the whole day. The sound of Karen O's voice seemed to mold over the feelings I was experiencing. I interpreted it as feeling the need to let something go, but having a hard time doing it. On that day i wasnt alone, thanks to this.
