Than you're looking in the wrong places. I admit the more mainstream stuff isn't good but you should look for the lesser known people and there you may find people who sing the kinda music you like and do it good.

Also other languages may have what you want.

Take hip hop for example. We mostly know it as gantas singing about bitches but my bother listens to a Japanese guy who has hiphop beats and jazz and it sounds great plus he isn't singing about bitches.
