I always loved how Lucy got her just desserts at the end. On the other hand it was nice Linus helped her at the end, maybe he loves life more than Lucy does
What I liked about this Charlie Brown show is that FOR ONCE IN HIS LIFE CHARLIE BROWN ACTUALLY KICKED THE FOOTBALL FROM LUCY, AND HE DID IT FOUR TIMES, while he was invisible. Also I didn't know Snoppy had a basement in his doghouse. And its funny that Snoppy made Lucy levitate at the end.
"I kicked the football while I was invisible!" "You don't have any proof!" Oh, Lucy, if you only knew of us in the next universe over, reading and watching you people's adventures. Then again, this also works against CHARLIE'S favor. But at least Lucy looks better just being left to float helplessly in the air.
This cartoon was obviously done not only to get back at Lucy for her football tricks, but also as an antithesis to It's Your First Kiss. Not a bad job.
@U1986NuclearGrounds I was starting to wonder if I only had a dream of seeing a show of CB kicking Lucy's football while invisible. That was the only thing I remembered from this show
Speaking of the Cat Next Door and Snoopy's doghouse, it should also be noted that the inside of said doghouse is so amazing and absurd that it always manages to escape said cat's wrath. We always see the wooden structure itself destroyed with a patch of healthy, green grass (never mind the lack of sunlight) underneath.
All that stuff he could do, much like - here I go again - the early comics. Especially said cat owners, given how much money it must cost the Brown family to constantly replace Snoopy's doghouse, even though HE'S the one taunting the cat.
Then again, aside from Charlie's "morals" and timidity, the ending WOULD be pretty cruel what with all those victims out for the boy's blood. Or an ending that implies it. In short, I guess that could've been worse.
In fact, how come some of the neighborhood kids aren't out searching at first? Are they that apathetic, or did they read their own script? Also, I can only imagine the other stuff Charlie could get away with while being invisible: crashing another of Violet and original Patty's parties; spooking the folks in the local corner store (a penny's worth of whatever and all that); confusing various bullies; harassing the owners of the Cat Next Door...I could go on.
Now if only they could do the same to Violet, both Pattys, Frieda, Sally, and (maybe) Marcie. Especially Sally. She seems TOO enthusiastic to move into her brother's room. I certainly hope his invisibility inconvenienced her to no end, 'cause she's been asking for it. I should probably bring up the matter of everyone's parents and the cops, especially since adults are becoming more prominent in the cartoons, but never mind.
It finally happened; Charlie kicked Lucy's placed football. A historic event if we viewers ever did see it, eh? Truthfully, after reading the comics, I now see it as a pointless gesture, but I'll go into more detail when I reach A CB Celebration. Still, good riddance to bad rubbish. Lucy can be a total jerk anyway, especially to Charlie and Linus. It's always a welcome show to see her humbled even though it's not gonna last.
Since there's nowhere else to review Life Is A Circus, CB, I'll hafta review it here before I review this one. And I'll make it brief:
A. Snoopy and Fifi can't be together, huh? And to think CHARLIE can't get a girl.
B. I'm surprised Snoopy didn't pull off his vulture imitations or even his WWI Flying Ace schtick. Although, to be fair, that probably would've stripped the other animals of THEIR jobs.
@Stephen10528 I know, because she really DOES act like a witch, halloween or not! In the Great Pumpkin, Lucy says, "A person should always choose a costume which is in direct contrast to her own personality". That is why it was so funny when she dressed up as a witch, because that is how she really acts!! Like a witch! HA HA!

you know, at 1:48 watching Charlie Brown behind a tree, staring at Lucy breathing hard, kinda give you the wrong ideas.

The look on Lucy's face at 2:44 is priceless, it contains all the hallmarks of a true psychopath.

Gokuvstheworld 8 months ago
@AndrewOfHorror You know what would make it epic? If Peter Griffin showed up.
Peter: "Alright! That's the last time! DO YOU HEAR ME?!"
Lucy: "Yes."
Peter: "You're gonna hold down that football till Charlie Brown kicks it! DO YOU HEAR ME?!?" (He kicks and punches Lucy)
Lucy: (Sobbing violently) "YES!"
Peter: "GOOD! Go ahead, Charlie."
(Charlie kicks the football)
Charlie: "Yay!"
Peter: "One more thing. You're not a licensed therapist." (He kicks her) "Road House."
