Why doesn't anyone make a issue of women having to cover themselves in Saudi Arabia? Even if when some dont want to?

Its a law there, and its done to safe guard their culture, Just like France is banning burqa to safeguard THEIR culture, Why is it that western women who go to Arabia willingly wear the niqab and accept their culture but Muslim women in France cannot accept France's culture?

Let women wear what they want in your Muslim country and we'll allow women to wear they want it ours. :)

the Burqa is more of an Arab custom that accompanied Islam on its way out of the Arabian Peninsula when Islam spread. Islam itself does not require a burqa

@hellojulie u r absolutely right, the problem now a days with people practising islam is that, they try to connect everything to islam, from food, clothes, color, hair, beard, etc, what ever they see they join with religion which is very wrong, as rightly said, religion should be practiced and not the customs and traditions as every region has its own customs and traditions. u cant deny the fact that rape and sexual abuse against muslim women and girls is pretty much non existent in muslim countries compared to the west. This is becasue

A) women dont parade their "features" and dress modestly (covering themselves)

B) Women rarely leave the house without their husbands/fathers/brothers

interestingly enough Orthodox Jews also have a strict segregation between men and women during their prayer service. So the mind is focussed purely on God, and there is no distraction. Furthermore, Jewish women cover their hair upon marriage (like Muslim women and like christian nuns [in the Bible it says for women to cover their hair 1 Corinthians, chapter 11) so this isn't anything new or unique to Islam ... if you ban the headscarf you should not be hypocrites and also ban nuns and others ...

At the end of the day the Burqa has always been a control tool. Nothing more, nothing less. Anyone that thinks different has bought into the lie. Keep in mind that I have no problem with Islam itself, but the Burqa has nothing to do with Islam. It's the way for men to control women, and for anyone that hasn't noticed, that has been a constant through much of human history. Same control, different form. I clearly stated that I had no problem with Islam in my first post. You may want to go back and read that part. I also did not indicate in any possible way that I wanted to make those kinds of choices for people. I look at history, I study it from many sources, and then come to a conclusion. To expand on my stockholm statement, I apply it toe many aspects of many different religions. Find me a point in th history of any religion where that religion was not used as a tool of control. This is not the only thing that I would apply that to. And where did the hypothetical violence come from? That had absolutely nothing to do with what was said. Maybe if you are going to make comparisons to what I said, then maybe what you say should say something that actually relates.

She says French Women don't wear the burqa, but they do! The may not be 'French' with long ancestral roots, but many women who believe in Islam in France with French citizenship wear the Burqa. Many of these come from the French colonies - Algeria for example but they are French, unless you want to discriminate against who really is French.

at 33:30 - this issue of wearing sunglasses is addressed, but also when it comes to facial identification software (LOOK THIS UP if you dont believe me), human identification is possible despite full beard, glasses and a hat!! This is because only certain criteria are necessary for 'averaging' the rest. i.e. we need the nose, some forehead, cheek bones for a basic profile. A burqa renders identification impossible (as does a balaclava or bag over head)
