  • @sickyanne Tishoo paper

  • @SickYanne he used standard "tissue paper" which can be obtained in stationers , craft or gift shops

  • what about the size of the paper? or the scale?

  • @joonjoon819 Those hands in the video are human hands that should give you some idea of the paper size, better still the 1ft ruler you can see in the video is a1ft long. As for Scale I have never weighed it but obviously the lighter the better . . .

  • uhhhhh why did my lil bro watch this video, now its my problem :(, but nice easy steps :)

  • @AdamChocoSo It's not a problem this will be a bonding exercise that will glue your very souls together . . .

  • WHAT KIND OF PAPER DID YOU USE??

  • @msjhasz29 AS STATED IN EARLIER POSTS It is standard "tissue paper", which can be obtained from stationers, craft or gift shops.

  • Thanks so much for sharing this... been searching for the steps on how to make like this. Am gonna use it for my wedding.. Blessings to you... Please share more, and would appreciate if you will put audio on it.. :)

  • can you please number the materials which did you use?

  • Dude, can you please tell us the measurements? Its hard to make estimates...

  • can you give us the measurements of the paper? please? I need it for our project...

  • WHAT KIND OF PAPER IS THIS???

  • For an outdoor wedding, I would need to use fire-retardant spray on the paper before-hand, correct?

  • Awesome idea! If u add a tea light candle will this fly? Or do u just blow air and send it outside?

  • I Loved watching you make this. I think you did a wonderful job and showing us how to makeone ourselves. HaveA Nice Day & Thank You for sharing.

  • why the hell is it that when i what to know how to make things smaller the only way is doing it big.

  • what kind of paper is this?

  • Nice folding technique. I'm pretty confident I can make one now.

You can actually use cold boiled potato (just rub like a glue stick) to glue the lantern. Theoretically is would be even lighter if used properly.

  • why is there no sound? i hate it when people make instructional videos and are too shy to talk in them. nobody cares what ur voice sounds like! have some confidence!

  • @TheWingedScapula Has stated in an earlier post this video was composed & posted as an exercise in visual only presentation for international understanding, all the information you need is in the video.

I felt that in would be arrogant to assume that further verbal explanation is necessary as this would only have been in my native tongue of English. The surprising popularity of this presentation especially from Non-English speaking countries bears witness to this being a wise choice . . .

  • @GordonDipple music would have been a nice touch. good video.

  • HEy MAN, NiCE BaLLoOn., IS ThiS reSIsTanT to WInD?

  • wouldnt this be dangerous if a plane hit it or if the tops went on fire and it fell into a house?

  • Well done, Fantastic idea

  • What comes next???

  • Very good, thanks for the video. Yesterday was Chinese mid-autumn festival and if I found this earlier I would have made a flying lantern out of it. Oh well, there is always next year ;-)

  • Hey Gordon, I just built one of these balloons today, I'm headed to Hamburg tomorrow to surprise my girlfriend with it. She's gonna freak!!! Thanks. Any suggestions on candles used for the inside?

  • @mckinnonjames how was your girlfriend encounter with the balloon? i wouldlike to do the same..

  • gordon, you dont need add the top after . the top is a part of gome.

and the whater is not necessarie . glue can add directly with botle. a simple line of glue resolv. thanks for this video..

    regards

    a brazilian baloner

  • what is the wire used for? can we use something other than the wire? like tape?

  • @oobiemoobies The wire is to attach a fire lighter, or other heat, source for longer outdoor flights.

  • this thing is awesome! my friend made one and i made i bet with him that i could use my bb gun the shoot and tilt the flame canister while it was 40 feet in the air an set it on fire... i won.

  • Is that water that you are mixing with glue?

  • @Jeloubool yes it is water , the glue does not need to be so strong because of the light weight material and the water evaporates away and makes the balloon lighter.

  • @GordonDipple which would be lighter, stick glue or your concoction of glue and water?

  • whats the materials?

  • Hi. Is it possible to make a mini hot air balloon with any type of fabric?

  • no it will be too heavy

  • that is cool

  • thanks man i have to make 1 4 skool and it really helped

  • i tried doing it and it really worked! i had so much fun!

  • me parece un excelente video y boy a tratar dde imitarlos haciendo mis globos muchas GRACIAS DESDE MÉXICO

  • how come the paper doesnt catch fire from the heat??

  • a good qeustion, i reckon the air must not heat up enough to set alight to the paper.

  • lol i thought my laptop sound card stoped responding!

  • i tried to make one outa normal paper and it worked but then it burnt a hole in the top and fell back down

  • i have a question do you put a candle in it or something

  • I filled it with heat from the space heater. You just keep refilling it when the hot air cools. You could probably use a blowdrier on low, too.

  • Buen video, gracias.

  • Thanks ^^

I sorta made one, and looks pretty nice [except there's too many holes -.-]

I had to make one for school, and it helped~

  • Thank your for you comment. I am sure it is fine, you can always patch up the holes with bits of tissue, at least you tried! Well done.

  • wat kind of paper is that? thanks...

  • In the last month I have had three enquiries asking for written instructions on how to make this balloon. The following is how I replied to these requests : -

  • The instructions are in my head. I did make the video to be a rough self explanatory visual presentation with no commentary so that it could be understood internationally all you need is in the video if you look very closely.

  • The ruler in the video is 1ft long and the tissue paper is standard size if that helps. If you go through the video and write down step by step you should have some sort of instructions. Basically it is a loose cube with a 12" hole top and bottom, cover the top hole using a 14" square and glue a 12" square wire frame in the bottom.

You could start with something like :-

Take eight sheets of standard tissue paper fold in half, etc.

  • How did you blow it up??

  • It was filled with hot air from an electric fan heater for the purposes of the video.

A single burner camping stove could be used to prime it for external launches or a fire-lighter attached to the centre of the wire frame if the environment is safe to do so.

  • how good is that!

    thanks Gordon

  • do you think you could light a fire under it to make it fly?

like attaching the base to a cotton/acetone mix and lighting that up?

  • sem som?

  • Pesaroso sobre nenhum som. Eu tentei fazer-lhe toda a apresentação visual para a compreensão internacional.

  • no sound?

  • Sorry about no sound. I tried to make it an all visual presentation for international understanding.

  • this is such good material

  • It is standard "tissue paper", which can be obtained from stationers, craft or gift shops.

  • hey...my paper burned....ZZZ

  • cool!! : D

  • that is an awsome way to make a hot air ballon

  • THANK YOU [2]

  • THANK YOU
