To answer you're question, this is the same version that is at the end of Mother Love. This version got transposed so the pitch is higher which makes everything kind of sound weird.
Question Dave, in the end of "Mother Love", I hear this same song with Freddie singing but it sounds a lot different than this version, did he ever release that version?
I really adore this song!!! When I listen to it I just forget everythig around me & just listen to it like its my last time. Its beautiful, just like Freddie...RIP Freddie, We all love you!!!! P.S How are you doing in heaven Freddie??? Its been a long time since you've been on earth with us.... <(^.^<) ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
@JoshuaovfitzyI If you're a man who used to have sex with "countless boyfriends", who loved to dress as a drag, who lived amongst gay men, whose personal assistant was gay, and so on... and you have slept with 3 or 4 girls, it makes you a gay man who had sex with a few girls, not a bisexual... but let's not turn his into a debate, I don't really care to know if he was 100% gay or 95 % gay...
It was actually a german actress called Barbara Valentin... not even sure that they had a "real" relationship. Still it doesn't change the fact that Freddie Mercury was gay. But if you need to believe that he was bisexual, fair enough.
A really great montage of early pics in the life of one of the greatest musical performers of all time! There will never be another Freddie Mercury! And for a short time, we were lucky enough that he walked among us and shared his beautiful gift.
ey up :) on behalf of every rock fan in the world (especially west yorkshire lol) thankyou freddie for showing us how to rock, you truly were heaven sent, the candle that burns twice as bright burns twice as quick, youchanged the world and remained so humble, freddie mercury- god of rock, loverl of live, singer of songs
very exciting to hear them in early days. if they were at motown or something the execs would've broken them up & tried to make fred into an idol. thank god that never happened:P
@FREDDIEMANIAC - Read it again, I said you really need to listen to alternatives to McCartney and Dylan, because even though Mercury was a good performer and good vocalist, he was not the best. The best singers are opera singers who can use their voice without need of a microphone and embellishments.
There is more to life than Freddy Mercury's bottom.
Never heard that song before, only from the Mother Love ending. Voice wasn't as strong as later but you can already hear that things that made him very characteristic... Beautiful song.
@1:20 Look that little face, please... Right there on the podium like saying to himself: "Me in a second place? Never, never again!!!!!" And yeah, he's still in the first place, because he's still the best. God bless his beautiful soul again, again and again. You know, I bet he is in paradise gamboling in a pool of pure bliss, having fun. If he is not there, then is not paradise at all.
Quie diria, qu cuando era tan pequeño, creceria como el mas grande de todos!!! Freddie, es sin lugar a dudas, un camíno de esfuerzo, y de conquistas!!! Que dios te cuide en el cielo Rey del espectáculo!!!
24/11/91-24/11/2009 18 years....but the myth still live....freddie we still love....what a wonderfull person, so sensible and in love of life....FREDDIE IS THE REAL KING OF POP-ROCK NOT mj you miss me my friend...
ofcourse he didnt know hw was gonna be king of rock, but anyway why do we call this larry lurex?? i know for a fact this is freddie singing this song only he can like this, was larry lurex the name of his old band or something?
You call people " stupit "..then give them incorrect info..Larry Lurex was not a band, it was a name Freddie made up when he was asked to make a couple of demos...
( this one..a cover of Dusty Springfield's song..and also a cover of The Beach Boys,
I Can Hear Music ). Larry Lurex was Freddie's word play on the name..Gary Glitter.
Larry Lurex is just the name of the artist in this single. Some producer heard Freddie singing and asked him to do a single and he named the artist "Larry Lurex", Freddie also suggested Brian and Roger for guitar and drums.
does he really say "Those days when I was young enough to know the truth"? I alwas thought it's "when I was young enough to love the truth". That would make it even more melancholic. Nevertheless: great song!!!
BiggerL....In this song, Freddie is reminiscing about childhood....the things he loved so well, in his youth.....sharing his toys, watching his sailboat glide...etc...."Let everyone debate the true reality, I'd rather see the world the way it used to be....a little bit of freedom is all we lack....so catch me if you can, I'm going back." Not written by Freddie, but song SO WELL by him!
incredible photos ! thanks a lot ! I had this song (and Smile's too) on a tape but it has been distroyed unfortunatly. Too old. I am glad to can hear it again.
This has been a great find for me, being both a Dusty and Freddie/Queen fan. Both sadly missed. Both gave sooo much and suffered pain towards the end, but WHAT legacies. Ty both xxx.
