I agree with what you are saying dont get me wrong..im a songwriter myself and you get older of course your style and ideas change, all im really saying is it isnt nessecary to completley change your entire style and forget about the sound that inspired you in the first place. Going from Heavy Riffs to a piano Kinda Makes me wonder..I do appreciate all types of music, but dont turn your back what got you started playing in the first place.

Ok, i understand what your saying. but listen to One Way Mule or Too Much of Not Enough off of Diorama. They are still pretty heavy! I must say Young Modern is very different and luckily I genuinely enjoy that type of music too. Young Modern is more along the line of the Dissociatives(they are fantastic!) I guess if they wanted to completely change, then it's their perogative. Man Who Knew Too Much is great off of Young Modern, fantastic bass line. I guess we'll agree to disagree! :-)

He's obviously got some new inspiration that isn't depression and hate. He still plays loud and rocky music, its just he's added something extra to it (joy and happiness). But don't lose sight of what they've always been, and thats a band that produce songs like cemetery which is a softish song on the same album as a song like freak. all of their albums have different soft and loud songs.

To watch this video makes me sad..what happened to these guys? Frogstomp, Freak Show and even Neon Ballroom all rocked..Diorama and that new one they just put out are complete crap. What happened to the angst The crunchy guitars? These guys had some killer tunes back in the day..it's really a shame they changed their sound. Daniel Johns needs to quit being a happy pretty boy and get angry again..it seems that when rockers get happy, the quality of their music goes way down..bring back the Angst!

I everyone suppose to stay the same? Music should come from the heart and experiences going on in your life now. What these guys were feeling going through ages 15-18 aren't going to be the same as what they are going through today. I personally have enjoyed all their albums and hearing them change over the years. While I aboslutely love their grunge stuff,I think Diorama was their most muscially INCLINED album yet. A true music lover APPRECIATES musical genius, which these guys have.
