I mean, when you know that your father's animagus form was the very same as your patronus, you can get a little befuddled until you can actually understand that it was yourself that conjured that very same patronus and not your parent's. Not to mention, Harry must have been a little overwhelmed, and when you're overwhelmed you can exactly think straight.
