I got the motorsport version... but the HD Hero itself is exactly the same in all the different versions. The only difference is the mounting brackets that come with it. :)

Hello jetlag. I have a few questions of this camera.

1. What version of hd hero is this, helmet, motorsport etc?

2. How do you make the video to not shake very much in high speed? When I Mount my usual digital camera on my summit it´s allmost inpossible to watch the video.

I would be glad if you could try to answer the questions and if you get the time you could watch my latest video here on youtube so you can see how shaky the image is when I shot on board vids. Thanks

is the HD Hero any lighter than the regular? i know that with my reg gopro, it has so much weight to throw around that the mount just comes right off.

No, it's actually slightly bigger and heavier.

@jetlag2222 big let-down. hope they got stickier adhesive, or else i may have to do bolt-on configurations. a guy on my forum sold me a slash battery tiedown with the gopro mount bolted on.

here's a trick to try: go into the auto department of any store & look for a bottle of Rain-X Rain-dissipating fluid. It's got silicone in it, so if you just polish some onto the camera lens(or the camera housing) it should really help. Trust me, on a windshield it makes the water dot up so it just wicks away, so there's no water film to blur the camera

Yes it is. Completely waterproof inside the case up to 100 feet. I may take it diving at some point. :)

hmm... definately great quality in that little camera. I have the normal wide one, I have used it for RC and also for when im snorkeling and I love it. BUT, now i need to get this!! anyone want to buy a normal hero wide? :P Great video jetlag2222.

No it is not free. Anything that works this good will not be free. lol. But it IS very reasonably priced for what it does. It's called Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. It's only about $90 US now and you can download a demo that works for 30 days to try it out.

It was so cool when it was inside the summit! love your videos. i just have a quick question. the HSN on my REVO 3.3 is broken (dont know how) but it is just sitting there all loose and it doesn't tight in when i turn it. is this a "normal" problem? Thanks

No way, I ordered my HD hero in october :( still waiting here in the UK but I have had My UPS tracking link so It is on the way. Well I just got mine yesterday, and I live in the US, so they probably shipped at the same time. Mempey just got his yesterday too. I have not had any problems with it at all yet except that it's hard to see what it's pointing at with no viewfinder. lol. But they are fixing that in Jan with a plug in LCD screen.

You won't be able to get the brushless edition for cheaper anywhere for a while because it's brand new and everyone is waiting for it. So they have no reason to lower the prices. It will come with 2 nimh batteries that you can charge with almost any charger. Dynamite rc makes a vision peak ultra charger that works great with nimh and lipo.

Not Cheap, but stupid fast as long as you still have enough duckets to get some 6S of lipo power. I made my own brushless 2200 monster Emaxx and with the 5000mah 35-45C 6S it is so rediculous I have never run down the batteries to the cut off, I always snap something or other first. With a smile though! I challenge all to check this out, I have no affiliation to them!

can you plug in external mics so you can put it near the engine/motor and then you can hear it roar/scream

actually it has a very good mic built in that works right thru the plastic cover. I had to turn the sound way down so it wouldn't drown out the music. So if you want to hear the engine or motor scream, you can definitely do that. :))

The normal RC Hero is great. Go watch my video on it if you haven't already. It is plenty good enough to film r/c if you are budget conscience. The HD Hero is just better quality video.

Thanks! I made a bracket from a piece of alunimum and bolted it to the back shock base assembly. So it's bolted right to the frame to help it keep from shaking.
