This group never get old. I fell in love with them the first time I ever heard their music. Then I was blessed to go to one of their live concerts with a friend and I swear, I've never enjoyed concerts. But I absolutely ADORED these guys. You've got a permanent fan right here. It never feels lie Christmas until I hear at least one of Mannheim Steamroller's songs. Best Christmas group ever. ^_^

If you ever get the chance to go see these guys, by all means, do it! What you're not getting on the video is their back-and-forth 'patter'. Yes, that's Chip Davis on the drums, and Arnie Roth on the violin - Arnie says that Chip's so cheap, he could only afford half a violin! (check it out, it IS half a violin!) My favorite memory of their concert? Watching Chip sitting on the edge of the stage playing a recorder and kicking his feet - he's wearing tennis shoes with a tux!

No way?! Is the lead violinist there called Arnie Roth? Im almost definite I recognise him, when I was a child his daughter and I did a choir exchange (she was in a Chicago kids choir and I was in a Dublin kids choir) and my friends and I got to stay in his house and feed his dog asparagus under the table and get up to all sorts. He and his family were so kind and welcoming, we had a lot of fun on that American tour. Thanks Arnie! Keep playin :)

People pay money to advertise on his show because they know it reaches a large audience--about 25 million. Influence like that can get you a $400 million contract for 8 years. Air America does things differently--they had to pay radio stations to play their propaganda, which is why they went bankrupt.

As someone who loves and enjoys Chip Davis, Mannheim Steamroller please note that most concerts never are as sold or stated. Chip Davis, nor the original group do not show up. They send a group called "fresh aire" ?? playing the songs of Mannheim. I could understand if it was told before spending hundreds on tickets, however many have never seen the group or Chip Davis. He claims in many reports to have back problems, yet he was at the Macy's parade. Don't waste your money on Fresh Aire.

I am from Omaha, NE and growing up, every christmas, the day after thanksgiving, my parents would start playing christmas music in the house. Manheim Steamroller was always played in our home throughout the holiday season. I knew one of the bandmembers through church and I was friends with his daughter. I have also met two other members of the band, Jackson and Almeda Berkey, and they are the nicest, most down to earth people you could meet. I love their music.

Chip Davis and his Mannheim Steamroller band is his third adventure. He was the music side of CW McCall and before that he wrote advertising jingles for an Omaha agency. All their concerts are sold out for this year.
