  • Whenever i try playing skyrim *without* overclocking the gpu heats up to around 107 degrees and the laptop shuts down within 10 min. The weirdest part is that the game runs super smooth on medium settings. I mean there is no sign of any extreme gpu stress (although i know it is at 100% gpu usage). I mean how do you play crysis 2 without the gpu overheating??

  • @pchaubal89 u need to clean out fan cuz of dust so ur gonna have to take it to a pc repair dude cuz doing it ur self voids ur warranty :(

  • @pchaubal89 There is a problem with your cooling fan. Happened to me too. temp used to go upto 100-110 followed by a shutdown.

  • I did a system requirements check for this game and it told me this card failed the minimum requirements. Oh well. I don't need all the special what not. As long as it works I'm fine. Not planning on playing competitively online anytime. I'm taking it slow. I'ma just start with adventure games and what not and work my way up.

  • my video card is better than I thought O_o

  • @PS3Man141 same lol

  • Hello Nish

I have i5-460m ant ati hd550v and msn afterburner 2.1.0 installed but i cannot find MSIAfterburnertext.txt file in the directory. There is a cfg file.

    Please help in overclocking

  • @kislayapankhuri

    open .cfg file and:

Seek UnofficialOverclockingEULA field and add following text:

I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it

    its from the ab-forum.

  • which display driver did you install for this card?

  • how u did this i have same laptop . can you suggest me settings?

  • Thanks for the instructions :) I can play black ops with shadows and 2xAA at a decent framerate

  • -which tool do you use to overclock your video card?

-how long have you been overclocking your card?

-did u experience any problems because of overclocking such as overheating?

-what is the temperature of your card during overclocking and how much does it vary from normal? please reply.....

  • @kalaimadhavan I use MSI Afterburner...you can search it on google.

    -Around 8-9 months.

-No probs as such...just overclock slightly.

-After a slight overclock temp increases by about 5 degree celsius...goes upto 90 degree celcius on normal games...and upto 95 on graphic intensive games like crysis! Temps above 105 start causing problems...so upto 95 is pretty safe!

  • @nishdasher Thanks for the reply.I installed and used MSI afterburner but i cannot increase the gpu clock nor the memory clock as it shows the stock clock speeds(450 and 600 Mhz) as maximum speed . How did u increase those ?Please help...

  • @kalaimadhavan Go to the MSI Afterburner install folder and open the MSIAfterburnertext.txt file and make these changes(erase your text file) : hxxp:// textbin.com /34d06 (Enter link correctly) ... just copy and paste that in that text file and save it.

  • @nishdasher

    cant find this file
