My Favorite Superman movie by far. The whole turning back of time ruined the first one for me and of course Terence Stamp is one of the greatest supervillains to grace the screen.
Does anyone have the scene where Non throws the Siren light Killing the kid who was at least a mile away at the time. trying to escape on bike to get help at that small town they tore apart. I haven't seen that scene in 30 years. they have never played it again since. Didn't seem like a Big Deal at the time.

My initial reaction was I cant believe how dated the film looked, then something happened to me, and I remembered how much I loved these films! By the end of the trailer it all came back, and I dont care about the dated graphics, I need to go watch this amazing unique revolutionary film.
Superman's epic line "Would you care to step outside" is not in the Richard Donner version. Instead he says "General, haven't you heard of freedom from the press".
Actually Donner was fired with 80 percent of Superman II filmed. So they brought in Lester too refilm almost the entire film. I do like Donners cut though, and am glad its finally out on dvd.
What made superman 1 and 2 brilliant was the great acting of Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman, Ned beatty, Margot Kidder and all the rest of the staff. They all fitted in perfectly into this movie. The plot was great: introduction, body and conculsion. Ten out of Ten.
Superman 2 would have been a better movie if they didnt fire Richard Donner and replaced him with the other director, Who then directed superman 3 and made it a slapstick comedy...

Do you think there'll ever be a chance of an ANIMATED Superman movie, with Christopher Reeve made to look like Superman? I think it can be done...I'm sure there's plenty of Voice actors that could pull of a convinving Christopher Reeve voice/accent. Even if it's fan made, I'd watch it.
@Treyb3yond Sorry, but I am a Smallville fan despite it's flaws. That show does get some credit for being able to get Christopher Reeve to guest star, having Helen Slater (Supergirl 1984) play Lara El, and Teri Hatcher (Lois &Clark) playing Lois and Lucy's mom.
Smallville admitted that they based their General Zod on this one here, and he is last seen on that show in exactly the same situation as he is in the beginning of Superman II.

Trailers back then sure did show too much from the films. At least that means back then you can tell if the movies are good or not. Some teasers now hide the truth that the movie is crap.

Superman II was shown on Direct TV in Northeast Georgia about four months ago. Some idiot rehashed the scenes where Superman flies around the Earth to make it it go back in time to stop the arrival of Zod, Ursula, and Non. I hope they will never air that punk-assed, version ever again!
I remember seeing Star Wars, Close Encounters and Superman when I was around 6 years old. I wonder if films these days have such an impact on young people, as they weren't churned out in those days.
This and superman returns are the best, one had bad cuts and animation for its time, 3 was just plane shit and four had a shoe string budget which handicapped all their screen shots special effects and the worst thing about iv was that reeves was gonna be nuclear man but the finances wouldnt allow it.
I remember i was quietly doing my homework in the comfort of our house when suddenly this Superman 2 trailer flashed on our tv screen for the first time, i jumped out of my seat and started screaming at the top of my voice running here and there around the house because of joy and excitement! Minutes later, my 3 siblings joined me in jumping up and down! Oh how we love Christopher Reeve so much! No one can replace him in our hearts!

Where the narrator sais if you've only seen the first part, you haven't seen the best part. And he WASN"T KIDDING :)
The first one I think is still the Origin story to beat, But it laid the foundations for what was a better Sequel :)

Superman II was shown on Direct TV in Northeast Georgia about four months ago. Some idiot rehashed the scenes where Superman flies around the Earth to make it it go back in time to stop the arrival of Zod, Ursula, and Non. I hope they will never air that punk-assed, version ever again!

This and superman returns are the best, one had bad cuts and animation for its time, 3 was just plane shit and four had a shoe string budget which handicapped all their screen shots special effects and the worst thing about iv was that reeves was gonna be nuclear man but the finances wouldnt allow it.

I remember i was quietly doing my homework in the comfort of our house when suddenly this Superman 2 trailer flashed on our tv screen for the first time, i jumped out of my seat and started screaming at the top of my voice running here and there around the house because of joy and excitement! Minutes later, my 3 siblings joined me in jumping up and down! Oh how we love Christopher Reeve so much! No one can replace him in our hearts!
