Wow. I completed the game twice, back in the days, with a Toreador and a Gangrel, and each time I shoot the beast out of the sky the hard way, no lights. Being the last boss, I thought it was only natural of being that hard. Can't say I'm unhappy I didn't found the lights....
@BoomDowg Likely not. The game wouldn't change much at all. I'd have different powers, people I talked to wouldn't have the "Oh, you're Malkavian" bit when they first met me, and the dialog options would read different (but have the same results). I don't know that it'd be worthwhile to play the same game again.
@darkchiron It is, actually with a few mods like the companion mod or additional clan quests, this game has a lot of replayability value. Allso you can get a diffrent heaven as a nosferatu, or as a Tremere you can get an apartment in their heaven. You can attmpt doing quests in a diffrent way. This game probably is the best RPG of all time. You will enjoy it, i guarantee.
@MisterAAnderson I've beaten this game like 6 times. I'm saying there aren't enough differences in the game to warrant actually making a new video series. And honestly, I don't want to play this whole game over at least 2 more times to show things like new havens.

I have Temple of Elemental Evil, and it's a pretty good game. I think if I did any of them like that I'd have to try to do Planescape: Torment. I'd just have to consider how to manage it with all the reading and me not being all that good at voices. :D
@darkchiron Oh yes, that is one big problem that needs a lot of patience. You could also think about Vampire The Masquerade Redemtion which is actually the previous Vampire The Masquerade, though it's more a Diablo hack & slash game, so if you don't like that kind of stuff you may not like that one.
Did you play a Tremere way, with Strauss ending? It's fun. Anyway, I was with you all the time, you were doing this playthrough and I will ask you - are you going to do more playthroughs of this game? Of course with other clans. You did very good job there, so i think, every fan of this beautiful game wants to see it. I am waiting for your answer.

Not sure how I'd work Caine and Jack into the end sequence. Maybe watching and laughing on a web cam from the internet cafe? There's a comic series on DeviantArt that covers the jack question. Enjoy.

On a related note, your CoC walkthrough allowed me to finish the game vicariously through you. The whole thing bugged something fierce for me just after escaping Innsmouth and all my saves went up in smoke. Watching you play through to the end made me kinda happy for it though. BAD Platforming!

I'm curious. The dialogue at the end seems different than other videos I've seen. Jack didn't mention "the kid" in them, and LaCroix's dialogue was different. Is that a Malkavian-only thing, or from a patch or something?

When I fought him, I had to use all of the spotlights (three, I think).
By the way, I call him a Tzimisce because Chiroptean Marauder is a 6th level power in the Vicissitude discipline of that clan (i.e. Fleshcrafting). He also clearly demonstrates Animalism early on, another Tzimisce discipline. The last one is Auspex, but not sure how they could demonstrate that. Maybe that's how he knew he was being watched by Jack that first time...

They are not mistaken... while it wasn't mention in game, the game file for cab driver dialog has the file name Caine... and for some reason both him & Jack have purple aura which usually belongs to mage.
Well it is kept quite the secret isn't it. But yes strangely this cab driver seems rather. Well special that and jack and him seem to be quite knowing eachother. Playing up to a small prince like that..men that is cold.
Another weird thing... if you use auspex on both jack and the driver... sometimes you get the purple energy aura, which usually belong to mage...
It is however possible if one of the myth behind caines power was correct... 1 of the many myths was that the discipline was develop when either the Crone or Lilith who has mage magic... teach Caine how to turn the curse into power.

Well, if he IS Caine, then tell me why it's canon that Beckett woke Caine up from a long period of rest in a cave FAR AWAY from L.A., AFTER the events of VTM:B?
There is no logic. Caine waking up brought about the end of the world. If he had woken up before and been your personal cabbie, the game wouldn't make sense, since Caine's return made nearly every vampire powerless, with only diablerie allowing a quick breather.
He's most likely a Malk who is deluded enough to believe that HE is Caine.
Remember that strictly speaking only the table-top game books are consider the canon... not novels or PC games... so they can have all 13 antediluvian show up in game and it wouldn't matter... would only be crappy.
and if u remember the future telling woman at the beach in santa monica, she said "the father, is it the father behind him?" i guess she meant the father of all vampires

Your series was the first ever "lets play" type videos I've ever seen - inspired me to make my own with tes iv: oblivion dark brotherhood, though mine aren't nearly as good :p
And I believe I still have the distinguished honor of being the first and only guy to do an LP on here for the game completely. But I'm sure someone else has some on some other site. Many people have attempted to LP this game after I did, but they're all still working on it. :D I'm amazed more videos aren't up about this game.

Yea, it gets better with my more recent videos - as well as various other things. Unfortunately for some reason, I don't have full control over the sound settings. This program I have to use to record my audio + microphone, for some reason doesn't allow me to change specific ingame sound settings (like lower the music), it only allows me to change the master sound (overall sound)
Ah, you do it that way. I highly advise against it if you can help it, but I know that's not always an option.
Only thing you can do then is turn down the master volume of the game using the game's settings. It's still always difficult to make things sound just right.
wow.... when I played I never tried turning on the spot lights.... epic fail for me, I wasted all My ammo on the sheriff while he did his fly by hits. Though I got a great laugh when he threw the hookers and cars at me.... makes you wonder where all those hookers were hiding out.

Just finished the game. Its was cool I tried Brujah its quite nice. My ending was lonewolf and i really liked how you walk away like "I had enough of this shit man!".
As I said, as the game moves on you can very noticeably tell a difference in the game. It starts to feel very rushed. The company was likely running low on money and just wanted it done.
offcorse, when I think of it, It can't be ennyone else:P It was he who sent all this strange emails too?:P with something like "to night there will bli spilt blood blah blah" and signed: a friend
It's hard to tell, really. A vampire as old as the one supposed to be in that coffin would look that way, and be immobile. They can't just be woken up, they have to wake themselves. So it seems whether it's really an ancient vampire or not is unanswered.
fantastic walktrought, now i know about the other quests like griffith park (at start in chinatown i've used the bug with tree to skip chinatown quests n' go directly to fight with ming-xiao), thanks for your great work! 5/5 :)
is it me or does lacroix crawl rather .... oddly. it's very ribbit ribbit like.
what's funny is, my LARP ventrue was 10 times worse than lacroix and 10 times more resourceful than your malk.
i ruled the ventrue with an iron fist, and we had the city on their knees. we killed all their influence immediately and pooled all out influence. we killed ancients, werewolves, slaughtered giovani, laughed at the sabaat. the kindred hated me. i had arcons on speed dial, who ousted princes for me.
But think about it - your told that the blood hunt is off, sure, but it would take a little bit of time to spread it right throughout the LA Vampire Community, AND LaCroix would have set the hunt on you straight after you left.
Can you imagine the memo? "The bloodhunt on Nines is off. Oh, but he's already dead due to InsertVampireNameHere, so go and kill him instead."
He called it off before you leave to talk to Nines in Griffith Park. He told you personally, so he could say you knew for sure before you headed out there.
lol I didn't even know about the whole spotlight insta-kill thing, I just sat by the Swat guys with a flamethrower torching him when he came near and feeding when I got low on health. Worked pretty well and the vampires left me alone for some reason but it took forever. Now that I know you can beat him in like three seconds I feel like a sucker... oh well.
6) It's possible he somehow figured out what was really inside the coffin. Either that, or he discovered that the coffin was already opened (probably by a vampire - who else would want to steal a mummy and not its tomb?) and figured something wasn't right about it.

And I believe I still have the distinguished honor of being the first and only guy to do an LP on here for the game completely. But I'm sure someone else has some on some other site. Many people have attempted to LP this game after I did, but they're all still working on it. :D I'm amazed more videos aren't up about this game.
Your Oblivion videos seem alright, I'd just make the game audio a little quieter in comparison to your voice.

Yea, it gets better with my more recent videos - as well as various other things. Unfortunately for some reason, I don't have full control over the sound settings. This program I have to use to record my audio + microphone, for some reason doesn't allow me to change specific ingame sound settings (like lower the music), it only allows me to change the master sound (overall sound)

Ah, you do it that way. I highly advise against it if you can help it, but I know that's not always an option.
Only thing you can do then is turn down the master volume of the game using the game's settings. It's still always difficult to make things sound just right.

Yup turning the master volume down improved it quite a bit compared to my first video introducing the series.

wow.... when I played I never tried turning on the spot lights.... epic fail for me, I wasted all My ammo on the sheriff while he did his fly by hits. Though I got a great laugh when he threw the hookers and cars at me.... makes you wonder where all those hookers were hiding out.

Just finished the game. Its was cool I tried Brujah its quite nice. My ending was lonewolf and i really liked how you walk away like "I had enough of this shit man!".
Though i'm quite curious though about the driver.

Yeah, unfortunately.
As I said, as the game moves on you can very noticeably tell a difference in the game. It starts to feel very rushed. The company was likely running low on money and just wanted it done.

It's hard to tell, really. A vampire as old as the one supposed to be in that coffin would look that way, and be immobile. They can't just be woken up, they have to wake themselves. So it seems whether it's really an ancient vampire or not is unanswered.

if you enter the dialog of the game you get a strong hint of what was in the coffin.
Mr Driver has an Allias in the dialog as Cain, not necessary the Cain, but i think there's Enough pointing at it.
The Mummy is likely the guy the Norwegian professor mentioned as a 1 eyed Ruler of more then 200 years.

is it me or does lacroix crawl rather .... oddly. it's very ribbit ribbit like.
what's funny is, my LARP ventrue was 10 times worse than lacroix and 10 times more resourceful than your malk.
i ruled the ventrue with an iron fist, and we had the city on their knees. we killed all their influence immediately and pooled all out influence. we killed ancients, werewolves, slaughtered giovani, laughed at the sabaat. the kindred hated me. i had arcons on speed dial, who ousted princes for me.

But think about it - your told that the blood hunt is off, sure, but it would take a little bit of time to spread it right throughout the LA Vampire Community, AND LaCroix would have set the hunt on you straight after you left.
Can you imagine the memo? "The bloodhunt on Nines is off. Oh, but he's already dead due to InsertVampireNameHere, so go and kill him instead."

He called it off before you leave to talk to Nines in Griffith Park. He told you personally, so he could say you knew for sure before you headed out there.

lol I didn't even know about the whole spotlight insta-kill thing, I just sat by the Swat guys with a flamethrower torching him when he came near and feeding when I got low on health. Worked pretty well and the vampires left me alone for some reason but it took forever. Now that I know you can beat him in like three seconds I feel like a sucker... oh well.

6) It's possible he somehow figured out what was really inside the coffin. Either that, or he discovered that the coffin was already opened (probably by a vampire - who else would want to steal a mummy and not its tomb?) and figured something wasn't right about it.
