  • Great 70's TV Memories, RIP Arthur.

Bill Lynton did indeed die some time ago, not sure about Ken Wilson.

Does anyone have a copy of the 70's Theme tune "Kazoo Shuffle" ?

  • Very funny guy. R.I.P.

  • Thanks for this and all your kind words regarding Arthur, my dad! :-)

    Simon

  • @unclefibsy Thanks for your message. I'm glad that people got to see Arthur on youtube and that I got to know him :-)

  • Loved Arthur RIP me old mate

  • is it me but were the genaral public nicer in the days gone past

  • Does anyone know if Ken Wilson is still alive? He appeared quite a few times too, I remember the wedding witness prank that he was in, also the "man in the middle" one too. I know that Sheila Bernette & Eve Polycarpou (Adams) are still with us. I imagine Bill Lynton is long gone, he must have been in his mid 60's when the series was 1st one. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

  • @Brapper777 I suspect he isn't as he wasn't featured in the Candid Camera anniversary show which was recently shown. I would like to know myself. My favourite prank with him was the Ballet Dancer one. Maybe someone out there could let us know.

  • @Brapper777 I've just seen Ken Wilson and Peter Dulay on the Irish version of Candid Camera which starred Mike Murphy. I think that the series was made in the mid to late 80's. Dulay and Wilson do look older but, at least it was nice to see them doing new pranks. You can see the clips on the pddybrry youtube page. Sorry for the long delay in replying. It would be nice to know what happened to him.

  • Was watching some Candid Camera clips last night and only found out that Jonathan Routh had passed away in 2008. So today I checked to see if Arthur Atkins was alive and well and found out he passed away too.

Peter Dulay, Jonathan Routh and Arthur Atkins were my hero`s still are. I know a lot of people`s hero`s may be some rock star etc etc, but to these guys gave me so much laughter in my gloomy wasted school years that it was a pleasure to look forward to Candid Camera.

    They make me laugh.

  • as akid i loved candid camera so sad to hear arthurs passed away

  • RIP Arthur Atkins, thanks for the laughs

  • Thanks for posting this. Arthur was a very funny man. I was sorry to hear that he died.

  • I got to know Arthur when he opened a wine-bar near where I used to live. It was called Spirals on the Finchley Road, London in the early 1980's. I walked in one day and couldn't believe that Arthur Atkins from Candid Camera ran the place! (I had loved his sketches in the mid 1970's). I got to know him and his wife Anesta really well over the years. The wine bar was soon full of celebrities such as Noddy Holder/Don Powell (Slade), Ozzie and Sharon Osbourne, Imagination and others. I'll miss you!

  • @noizefeeler Nice story, very little info about the guy anywhere!

  • @noizefeeler Thanks for your comments-Arthur was my uncle,

and it was a shock when he died so suddenly.

I also went to Spirals quite a few times-my mum {his sister} and dad went there often and would see Noddy Holder and Don powell many times. They told me how friendly they were.

I attended his funeral at Hendon crematorium;it was jam-packed with people who loved him!

  • How Sad, never knew

RIP Arthur, gave me many a laugh.

  • RIP
