It would have been a good guess, but the Breakfast Club (Feb 15, `85) came out b4 St. Elmo's Fire (June 28, `85). You have to be a real John Hughes fan to care enough to know. St. Elmo's fire wasn't one of his films though, but Sixteen Candles (May 4, `84), Weird Science (Aug. , `85), Pretty in Pink (Feb. 28, `86) and Ferris Buellers Day Off (June 11, `86) all were great movies of his, with most of them taking place in "Shermer, Illinois". John Hughes, you made the 80's awesome.
