Each day 2000 barrels of oil spewed out into the ocean. Yet, despite that leak in the Timor Sea and the Mexican Gulf leak, just a few weeks ago the Australian government awared a "deep sea drilling contract" to BP (of all frigin people!) to start deep sea drilling in the Great Australian Bight. It's a the whole world, not just America!

The spill is not that bad. The media made it much much worse than it really is. 95% of the oil has already dissipated. Take a look at the very bottom of this recent article which came from a tourist evaluation looking at different beaches. In terms of what? The UK might I add has a larger external debt as a percent of total GDP.
UK : 416%
USA: 94%
Equally, it is no coincidence that Standard and poor and Moody's downgraded britain's credit worthiness to near junk status. Thank God for crashing economies of Greece, Spain, Portugal, and Iceland. With B.P.'s death, perhaps it will take the UK over that edge too.

The UK has approximately a $2.6 trillion economy yet the UK has an external debt of over $9 trillion... as a percentage of your GDP, that comes out to 415% exceeding your GDP. The U.S. in comparsion has a $14.3 trillion economy and an external debt of $13 trillion which translates into 94% percentage of total GDP.
