  • I'd like a stereo remix of this album, get on it Linnet!!

  • I'd like a stereo remix of this album, get on it Linnet!!

  • This is Brian, isn't it?

  • The Beach Boys, for me, just become tedious to "get into" when it comes to all their post-Pet Sounds stuff. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but I start approaching one of America's greatest rock and roll bands like I would Kingston Trio records. There are scattered moments of greatness here and there but nothing is a WHOLE anymore from 1967 onward. Luckily we're getting the "SMiLE" album later this year! The ORIGINAL this time, as good as it can be constructed.

  • @MattHatter What do you mean later this year, I haven't heard anything?

  • @1955disney OH YES. Al Jardine leaked the news in late February, then Capitol Records confirmed it on March 12th I believe. I found out on March 15th. Google "Beach Boys SMiLE release 2011" and you'll find a ton of articles.

  • @MattHatter Thanks, that's really cool. Hopefully a date is set soon. Thanks for making me aware, I don't follow music releases, so I wouldn't have known until it came out if you hadn't wrote that.

  • @1955disney Yeah, another thing that's confirming it is that all "SMiLE" bootleg clips here on You Tube are being pulled by Brother Records (the B.B.s label).

  • It's wacky I know, but this was one of my favorite songs from the Wild Honey LP. Thanks for sharing it!

  • This sounds goooood!

    Beach Boys is incomparable!

  • This song is so fucking punk! The Beach Boys were ahead of their time.

  • This song, while fun, is sub-par. I imagine it had potential as a live piece during this era as it does have a groovy energy

  • What is the meaning of the song?

  • @Babyymonkeyy Nothing profound. A couple of guys crashing a party in a big city, one meets a fine chick that gives him dancing lessons; "fine chick" is going to be his "confession" (something he'll have to mention to his priest during confession); police are tied up "dancing" with a "stone party" so they don't have to worry about their party getting interrupted; meanwhile the guy is getting more and more impressed with his fine chick and how she boogalooed it to him.

    End of song.

    :D

  • best song

  • I quite enjoy this one. Brian was damn talented, sure, but the other guys could write a good song too, even if we're talking about a simple little rock song like this one.

  • 0:53 to 1:04 is my favorite part

  • Lo mejor de este album es la creacion de Brian Wilson, la voz de Carl Wilson y el keyboard tocada por Bruce Johnston en la canciones:

How She Boogalooed It y Wild Honey mis favoritas de este gran album.

  • Idk what u guys r talking about. This doesnt sound that bad

  • carl sounds like a southpark character here. ugh.

  • u suck

  • The Beach Boys are the greatest ever. Even their worst songs(with or without Brian) were and still are more fun to listen to than at least 90% of anything on the radio. The Beach Boys are all American music. Carl was amazing and Dennis was gritty Rock-n-Roll at it's best. Mike's lyrics and approach are catchy and fun. Al Jardine is a talented musician and the California Saga is incredible. Bruce Johnston's voice is beautiful. Brian is just genius. Best Band Ever Pure,Honest American Music

    You said that right

    Groovy

  • @BeachBoy420Beef amen

  • @BeachBoy420Beef I could'nt have said it better myself.

  • @BeachBoy420Beef Could not have said it better myself. They were one of the only bands that had the rock AND the soul!

  • Deirdre from Sunflower really gets my goat - this one at least rocks, and has a kind of off-the-cuff, home-recorded charm...

  • I love Dierdre!

  • Student Demonstartion Time from Surf's Up would get my vote. Just embarassing. Sitting alongside some masterpieces (Surf's Up, 'Til I Die, Long Promised Road, Disney Girls...), it's an odd mix. It is a Mike Love song, mind. In the old days it was a pain to go up to the LP and 'skip' the track. These days of CD's and mp3's, it's easier to pick and coose, I guess.

  • Only the words to "Student ..." are by Mike. The song itself is by Leiber and Stoller. And to tell you the truth, I love it.

  • @FatherTiresias surfs up is my favorite of their albums. disney girls is gorgeous and don't go near the water is haunting. student demonstration time is a musical cover though the lyrics are original (like surfin usa) so its not my favorite. Long promised road may be.... love those beach boys.

  • @FatherTiresias

actually the "skipping" the track wouldn't have applied to Student Demonstartion Time as it was the last track on the first side of the album anyhow(thus you would either need to flip it over or start that side over anyhow)

  • mine would would have to be gettin' hungry from smiley smile, but the remixed version released in the 80's was a slight improvement

  • Oh God, the 80s version is awful.

The original is alright, I don't see how it could be anywhere near the worst.

  • Is this the 1st original Beach Boys tune not at least partly written by Brian?? (not really counting 'Denny's Drums' though)
