nice video, I don't really appreciate the stereotypical witchcraft photos, the photo at 0:50 is very interesting to me can you tell me where you got it? other than those few photos, the rest were very good pictures of Ireland's Pagan history
This is great. But there is a version on their CD "Sidewaulk" that is punchier and more rousing. Check it out. But thanks for posting this. I LOVE Capercaille!
Alasdair Mac Colla Ciotach Mac Dhomnaill was born c1610 on the island of Colonsay in the inner Hebrides of Scotland. He is known in Scotland as the last great Catholic general and died fighting for the Gaidhealtachd in 1647 at cnocnanauss in Ireland
@collaciotach Correct. He also fought along side James Grahame the Earl Of Montrose but was in no way subservient to him. Mac Colla was the real tactician behind most of Montroses victories. He saw Montrose as a means to an end , that being the driving out of the Campbells from Mc Donald lands and, being a devout Catholic, the return of his faith to Scotland. I wish there was more information on him, most of his life is pretty mysterious.

Great version.
The Julie Fowlis version is completely different but I'm torn over which I prefer.

Best waulking song EVER!!
I do like the Clannad version too tho. Its different and they get the harmony right. Capercaillie is more fast paced.
