If anyone that knows about animation could explain this to me

At 0:48, why does parts of Dr. Faciler randomly disappear in some frames?

I was kinda guessing that those are parts where his body is completely still. So they just leave it blank and let his frozen body sit in another lair that they'll put back together in clean up animation.

But Im still learning things about animation so im not completely sure :/

@driojas actually they used 3d particle effects for the water and integrated 3d elements in Houdini and I think Blender with the animation. I was at a convention where they had a Disney animator discussing it about a year before it came out.
