War zone is BADLY Based off the Punisher MAX line which is a standalone comic line that is unrelated to the Classic or Canon Punisher Line. The 2004 Is far closer to the year one Punisher when he first started out, and Jane himself is a dead Ringer for Jim Lee's Punisher and the scene where Jane/Frank fights the Russian is ripped straight directly from the comics.
