I wonder if there's any unused maps or exit data one could find through hacking. For some reason this game doesn't seem to be very well documented when it comes to that kind of stuff.
Did a bit of hunting after reading this comment and put up a video about it. There seem to be a few unused ones, there are many that don't load anything (even the hero). In some maps there are extra exits blocked by map pieces, the woods near Storkolm for example.
lol, they SHOULD have hidden something there, that way, several decades later (now), haxxors could find out how to enter Cape Town and discover a treasure of city that was just waiting to be discovered by us curious explorers!
@giantturdburglar it's sort of easy, just look for changes between being in a boat and being on land and just active the boat HEX code while walking on the surface :))
is this a game genie or action replay cheat or something? I remember that as a kid, I always wanted to do that even though i knew there would be nothing to enter.
I didn't check the entirety of both maps, the code works on both. I do that you can visit some of the human settlements before the plants are supposed to exist using this.

@ViperKirby There are a handful of unused items in the game that you can get by hacking, but few have descriptions and none of them do anything.

Action Replay... The codes work for both over worlds. I read one too many speculation theories about it and had to see for myself.

This also allows you to take the boat on land and visit some invisible towns that have not appeared yet in the story.
