The problem is that Alexa thinks she is a real artist she even compared herself to Vincent van Gogh or Picasso) That's why she thinks she can do whatever and people have to take it or leave it!
Doing Make Up is a craft, nothing more..so you listen to your client.
I'm a studied artist and the way Alexa talks makes me sick.
Anybody ever notice how the girls from glam fairy and jerseylicious do mostly smokey eyes? I'd love to see them do some other stuff with eyes besides a smokey eye

I'm a professional makeup artist from Chicago & you really need to stop thinking you can do makeup! You are caking it on, and making your clients look like cheap hookers. Please, learn how to do makeup the correct way!
@jessiccahart24 The client base in Chicago is way different from NJ/Staten Island. Her clients are happy and satisfied with what they pay for. Maybe your clients wouldn't be, that doesn't make her a bad make up artist.
@metrominty I also work in New York. Even the mua's I know out there cringe when the "glam fairy" is brought up. All in all, makeup is the same wherever you go. It's about quality, not just slapping a ton of makeup onto a face. I've seen her show as well, I would be so embarrassed to present myself & my business in that manner. Also, my clients don't need to look like they are caked with makeup. Even with their full coverage looks, it's still not cakey looking & it is CLEAN makeup.

I'm only 18 but I can confidently say that I can do a smokey eye much better than you can. You have way too much eyeliner on and the last place eyeliner [or any dark color] should be is the inner corner of your eye. It closes it up and makes your eyes look dirty.

I think this is a great video!!!! You like alot like Victoria Beckham... and however Olivia is treated good or bad... (there's obviously editing in the show)... you're still a great makeup artist. The GLUM fairy. A fairy is make believe, not make up. W.W.A.D? Prob walk about with a step ladder to apply make up to the 4 yr olds so she can be eye level with them. Alexa is an good makeup artist, But, I have seen better. I love how she's not afraid to say whats on her mind, i respect her for that. But most importantly, everyone has their way of doing their own makeup, and everyone is different.
I LOVE this look. It's sophisticated, hot, and provides the right balance and contrast to your facial structure and tone. I'm curious to know why you're still in NJ though? This is much more suited for us NYC girls . . . xx
FYI to all the girlies out there.... DO NOT apply your moisturizer and makeup using downward strokes or outward strokes... this pulls on the skin, stretching it!!!! It will create premature wrinkling!!!! Always apply moisturizers and makeup in an upward/inward sweeping motion- using your 4th finger (ring finger) and pinky fingers the most because they have the lightest touch. Hope this helps! :o)

After seeing your assistant A2 scrub the bottom of the sink with your brushes to clean them, I would never recommend anyone to you. I think you need to come to LA and see what real makeup artist can do and take notes!

Alexa I think that for the most part you do makeup very good although the under eye liner all the way to the corners of your eyes makes your eyes look smaller. That's my biggest pet peeve when doing makeup. I think you would look better if yuou stopped your under eye liner halfway and not to the corners. Big fan of the show and hope you don't take my comment the wrong way.
I love love the makeup but I wouldn't go with the pink lipstick. I think that's what ruined the look a bit. I think it would look better with a peachy or almost nude color. That way it'll compliment the eyes better. Regardless I'm lovin' the look :0) I subbed.

FYI to all the girlies out there.... DO NOT apply your moisturizer and makeup using downward strokes or outward strokes... this pulls on the skin, stretching it!!!! It will create premature wrinkling!!!! Always apply moisturizers and makeup in an upward/inward sweeping motion- using your 4th finger (ring finger) and pinky fingers the most because they have the lightest touch. Hope this helps! :o)

I'm a make up artist and I hope to god your a little more sanitary with your clients then you are with yourself. After seeing your assistant A2 scrub the bottom of the sink with your brushes to clean them, I would never recommend anyone to you. I think you need to come to LA and see what real makeup artist can do and take notes!

Alexa I think that for the most part you do makeup very good although the under eye liner all the way to the corners of your eyes makes your eyes look smaller. That's my biggest pet peeve when doing makeup. I think you would look better if yuou stopped your under eye liner halfway and not to the corners. Big fan of the show and hope you don't take my comment the wrong way.

I love love the makeup but I wouldn't go with the pink lipstick. I think that's what ruined the look a bit. I think it would look better with a peachy or almost nude color. That way it'll compliment the eyes better. Regardless I'm lovin' the look :0) I subbed.
