Saving lives isnt even the greatest atvantage, its the the ability of the fire sprinklers to lower the property damage from a fire.

@maczaen Although partially true, the first fire sprinkler was invented in 1874 to protect a piano shop. Back then the main focus of fire sprinklers was to protect and save property. You can read up on it via wikipedia if you'd like. Smoke detectors are the most effective at alerting people during a fire.

If thats the case, then why have sprinklers in large warehouses where there may be smaller numbers of occupants than other commercial premises. Stock and property protection.

Indeed, if they are not to protect property, then how would you feel if your property was destroyed by fire, even though it may have been empty? How would that affect insurance premiums and any claim history you may have?
