@SpyengoEen ... well to be absolutely precise: They did Real ones with flashlights, true, but they also did cg-flares an they did real flares that were pimped by cg in post ... watch the making of! And after all i never claimed this to be the way that they did in Star trek ... ;-)
All the lens flares in Star trek were real (type in lens flare on google and click the second result that says J.J. Abrams Admits Star Trek Lens Flares Are "Ridiculous") they used powerful flashlights and mirrors.
Thanx to everyone 4 for the Propz (also on behalf of alffarr who built the basic flare system) On popular demand i uploaded the ae-file for anyone to use it. Please note, that you will need the saphire-plugins and Knoll Light Factory to make it work properly. Experiment with the file at your own risk, i will not provide any support or update.
dude can you please share the folder you made for this?
I will even pay you at least $10 via paypal so I dont have to sit there and create this from scratch for each shot. Please let me know and thanks in advance!
@BlackSupraC2 No.If you watch the making of you wil see that they actualy use strong flashlights at the camera for a lot of shots.I believe VCP is a better solution.
Great video keep up the good work.

This is NOT how they did it in Star Trek. In Star Trek the lens flares were created by using REAL lights. *sigh*

I hate unnecessary artificial lens flare, especially when it's supposed to make something look realistic
