  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • this looks digital, not organic like what you would get from real lights in camera

  • HI , i have this Eiki 16C attach to my sony NEX5 but seem the screen too wide and your video test the screen look same only the flare .

  • can you make video tutorials :D I have problem about tracking the object.

  • This is NOT how they did it in Star Trek. In Star Trek the lens flares were created by using REAL lights. *sigh*

  • @SpyengoEen ... well to be absolutely precise: They did Real ones with flashlights, true, but they also did cg-flares an they did real flares that were pimped by cg in post ... watch the making of! And after all i never claimed this to be the way that they did in Star trek ... ;-)

  • @EsIschDe

Yes, you're right. Sorry fo the sighing lol

  • @EsIschDe Weren't the CGI ones for the CGI shots?

  • file under: artistic freedom ;-) ...

  • I hate unnecessary artificial lens flare, especially when it's supposed to make something look realistic

  • You forgot to correct the bokeh.

  • Lol this actually looks legit for it being fake/generated

  • Lens Flare is amazing.

  • The effect looks great! I have to try it.

  • All the lens flares in Star trek were real (type in lens flare on google and click the second result that says J.J. Abrams Admits Star Trek Lens Flares Are "Ridiculous") they used powerful flashlights and mirrors.

  • I'd much rather watch the UPPER one for an hour than the LOWER one.

  • That's why the lighting in Blade Runner looks so cool.

  • Thanx to everyone 4 for the Propz (also on behalf of alffarr who built the basic flare system) On popular demand i uploaded the ae-file for anyone to use it. Please note, that you will need the saphire-plugins and Knoll Light Factory to make it work properly. Experiment with the file at your own risk, i will not provide any support or update.

  • dude can you please share the folder you made for this?

I will even pay you at least $10 via paypal so I dont have to sit there and create this from scratch for each shot. Please let me know and thanks in advance!

  • @nuyoka ill pay 40 in paypal. i need to know how to do this

  • @FrankBensonIV Inbox me and we can talk it out.

  • this kind of effects are prominent in michael bay movies and i love it in star trek they look very beautiful

  • good job man.

  • nice work!

  • so this is what they did in startrek

  • @BlackSupraC2

i guess they had some more sophisticated routines ... he he

  • @EsIschDe yep just using an anamorphic lens

  • @EsIschDe They just used an actual anamorphic lens, and lights. All real.

  • @BlackSupraC2 No. They used real flare guns pointing at the camera.Yes, i'm SERIOUS.

  • @BlackSupraC2 No.If you watch the making of you wil see that they actualy use strong flashlights at the camera for a lot of shots.I believe VCP is a better solution.

  • @BlackSupraC2 nooo haha they used real anamorphic lenses haha

  • @BlackSupraC2 Some flares were digital, but most were done using big lights and mirrors on set.

  • @BlackSupraC2 they actually just used flash lights during the shoot. Only some of the lens flares were added in post. watch?v=hiAToA3qZcI

  • @BlackSupraC2 They used real lights in Star Trek.

  • with what didu color graded this video?

  • @iltonkdr

good old magic bullet looks - kick ass soft worth every buck!

  • Whoa, looks amazing! Always good to see someone use my tutorial, and you gave me credit too, so I'm pretty sure that makes you awesome.

  • @alffarr
