@Netwriter You'll find scriptures in Paul's gospel that Christ fulfilled all that was written about Him and scripture that explains how the law faded away and scripture that says the law was nailed to His cross. You find in the book of Acts Jewish followers of Christ still going to the Jewish synogogue to pray and make sacrifice as well as keeping dietary law. The 10 & the other 603 faded away as the 12 disciples died off and Paul had begun his ministry to the Gentiles.

Actually, the Ten Commandments were part of the First Covenant with the Hebrew people. Most of the laws God gave them were meant to keep them alive and together as a nation in the long run (it seems to have worked, doesn't it?)
The Second Covenant, which was established by the crucifixion of Jesus, basically says that, as Christians, we can do whatever we want and we'll still go to heaven (although such urges would be dulled in Believers). They're still a good moral basis to believe in, though.
And for the last Commandment, the full verse is "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour's". You can DESIRE things, but you can't lust after someone or thing that belongs to someone else. Just sayin'

People follow mans laws more than anything because it is the here and now... In the bible it also states to follow the laws of the land and if the law of the land does not have a law for some of the commandments then I guess people still think they are ok. This is especially hilarious since the first set, the ones you know about, were broken shortly after Moses came from the mountain and he got an entirely new set from god, and none of them were good, nor incorperated into the law.
Thou shalt not mistreat animals is in the First version of the 10 commandments. When Moses first tells the people of the laws he never states that there are 10 but reading it you can see that there are 10. The 10'th was something like not boiling a lamb in their mother's milk. So I guess boiling an animal alive is wrong and we view it as wrong. I mean there are 2 versions of the 10 commandments most of the laws overlap but some are different.
By being a US citizen i will not criticize your use of the 1st amendment and you have the right to your own opinion. However i will say this: I am a christian. By me following these 10 "Laws", as you said, i would think you would appreciate me not killing people, or lying, or wanting your lamborghini, stealing, cheating ext.

Actually Jesus summed up the law in two commandments. The second one being like the first. "IF" anyone where to obey these two commandments, it would be impossible to break God's or mans laws. @Netwriter You'll find scriptures in Paul's gospel that Christ fulfilled all that was written about Him and scripture that explains how the law faded away and scripture that says the law was nailed to His cross. You find in the book of Acts Jewish followers of Christ still going to the Jewish synogogue to pray and make sacrifice as well as keeping dietary law. The 10 & the other 603 faded away as the 12 disciples died off and Paul had begun his ministry to the Gentiles.

Actually, these are NOT the 10 Commandments. According to the Bible, the ACTUAL 10 Commandments are Exodus 34:14-28. Pay close attention to verse 28 where God says that these are the 10 Commandments. Read it if you dare and face the truth; and "Never cook a goat in its mother's milk..."

The Ancient Judaic punishment for Adultery was Death By Stoning, very immoral. if someone comes up with a reference to the 10 commandments, then just ask them what comes immediately after the 10 commandments in the biblical text. they won't know.
at the first 10 commandments it's some more commandments and then the slaughter of irsraelites by moses.
at the second 10 commandments it's even more commandements (the 600 more that make up Jewish law, the Torah)

Actually, the Ten Commandments were part of the First Covenant with the Hebrew people. Most of the laws God gave them were meant to keep them alive and together as a nation in the long run (it seems to have worked, doesn't it?)
The Second Covenant, which was established by the crucifixion of Jesus, basically says that, as Christians, we can do whatever we want and we'll still go to heaven (although such urges would be dulled in Believers). They're still a good moral basis to believe in, though.

When I say I'm a Christian, I mean I'm a born-gain in Christ Christian. I don't follow a specific branch of the Christianic "religion", I follow the Bible.
You seem to believe that you have to follow some set of rules to get to heaven, which is not true.
As for the Leviticus quote, who exactly is he talking to? Oh right, the Hebrew people. The ones I already mentioned.

@Zlarel Please don't quote Paul to trump Jesus. You just prove my point that christians are really Paulians and hate the words of Jesus. Read Chapter 25 of Matthew where Jesus tells what judgement day will be like and who will go to heaven. Find anywhere in that chapter where Jesus says belief or faith is the key. The gospel of John was not written till middle late second century by a greek fiction writer and has many contradictions to the earlier gospels. How do you know the bible is reliable?

The path I took is reflected in many of my videos. Also on my channel page are a few of the books I studied and tested against the bible that helped me find my way to reality and reason. @1978dagreat You are correct. Too bad that christians don't pay a bit of attention to the words of Jesus, They instead trump Jesus with the words of Paul. Romans 7:6 We are delivered from the law, that being dead. This is but one of hundreds of blatant contradictions in the "PERFECT WORD OF GOD".
Makes one wonder why a light doesn't come on in the head of theists, but I guess being in the grips of the death cult of christianity wrecks the brains ability to think logically.

The law of God I feel are to protect us from doing stupid things. For example if you sleep with someones wife or husband you have the chance of someone killing you also you destroy a family and destroy trust. If you cuss someone out like God or your friend you have the chance of having your butt wooped by them or even dead. Covet something and it rules your life like most are ruled by TV or Computers and so on. There is more to life than the things we make.

@Netwriter the ten commandments are from the old testament, we dont abide by them anymore, we are to follow the laws of the new testament. after jesus was crucified, making sinning repentable. the new testament was written, making the old testament outdated. thus in the new testament there is no ten commandments instead you are to follow what jesus and his prophets advise in the new testament.why people target the old testaments Ten Commandments, or why christian churches tell us to follow idk

Jesus believed that the Old Testament was divinely inspired, the veritable Word of God. He said, "The Scripture cannot be broken" (John 10:35). He referred to Scripture as "the commandment of God" (Matthew 15:3) and as the "Word of God" (Matthew 15:6). Since he was dead before the new testament we have to assume he was speaking about the old one.

@Netwriter it even says in the new testament that satan will try and use the old testaments Ten Commandments as a tool for evil. so looking at what you made in a different perspective you can see the evil in which the Ten Commandments are being used for. as i believe in god, and that the bible is the word of god, i distrust a majority of todays churches, as the mislead and misinform their blind followers. the blind should not lead the blind, for they will fall in a pit.

People follow mans laws more than anything because it is the here and now... In the bible it also states to follow the laws of the land and if the law of the land does not have a law for some of the commandments then I guess people still think they are ok. One thing is most Christians know Jesus/Yeshu died on the cross for us so we may be forgiven by the Lord our God if you ask for forgiveness. It also states it is better to listen to God than man.

@SuperAvaiz Of course you wouldn't, you plug up your ears and don't even watch the video, not taking notice of how he talks about how the laws of the U.S., which is not a theocracy, are not based on the Ten Commandments.
This is especially hilarious since the first set, the ones you know about, were broken shortly after Moses came from the mountain and he got an entirely new set from god, and none of them were good, nor incorperated into the law.

Thou shalt not mistreat animals is in the First version of the 10 commandments. When Moses first tells the people of the laws he never states that there are 10 but reading it you can see that there are 10. The 10'th was something like not boiling a lamb in their mother's milk. So I guess boiling an animal alive is wrong and we view it as wrong. I mean there are 2 versions of the 10 commandments most of the laws overlap but some are different.

By being a US citizen i will not criticize your use of the 1st amendment and you have the right to your own opinion. However i will say this: I am a christian. By me following these 10 "Laws", as you said, i would think you would appreciate me not killing people, or lying, or wanting your lamborghini, stealing, cheating ext.
Point: Although the US laws are not founded directly from these commandments; I see no point in believing there is anything wrong with them.

@cabrian1 There is plenty wrong with the big 10. They are stuck forever in the immorality of the bronze age. There is no condemnation of rape, child molestation, polygamy, slavery, the repression of women and gays. Bigotry and hatred are built into christianity and the big 10 does nothing to improve that situation. All improvement in morality since the bronze age springs from secularism, not the bible and not the big 10. It is a pitiful life guide for the modern enlightened world.

Actually Jesus summed up the law in two commandments. The second one being like the first. "IF" anyone where to obey these two commandments, it would be impossible to break God's or mans laws. I've never met any individual to date with that much wisdom or on a lesser scale....insight. BTW, bondservants were allowed (as some wrongfully call a slave).

The world shouldn't be divided into atheists and non-atheists, but rather can be divided into the ignorant and non-ignorant. Ignorance exists everywhere and people shouldn't spend so much time arguing with one another that their beliefs are correct; rather, the focus should be on educating people and trying to understand the fundamental question: "Why?"
