You're a fucking idiot. The first sound you hear is the sonic boom produced from each round. The second sound you hear is the gun itself firing each round. You hear the sonic boom first because nearly directly after the round passes, you hear it crack. And then you hear the gun sounds after because that sound needs time to catch up.

Another way you can pick this up is how the first sound is coming from back left whereas the second sound is from the front right.

It's then followed up by the 30mm firing. You people always think the same thing: that you always hear the impact first and gun second. That's not true, as relative position is everything with sound. You should really learn about the "Doppler Effect".

You can CLEARLYsee in the very last 2 clips of the video that the sound comes BEFORE you SEE the impact...If you are actually hearing the sound of the bullets impacting you should hear the sound AFTER they hit. @Paintball4lyfe92 actually there might be as many as 3 different sounds. The impact sound depends offcourse where you stand in relation to the target. If you stand close to the target the first sound could be the super sonic travel of the ordnance. the second sound might be the impact and the fart (muzzle sound) heard last. Offcourse for the pilot this is the first sound he hears.

I have watched 18's drop 1000 lb bombs (containing a smaller marking explosive) and while they do make a hole big enough to fit a large truck in, you can't hear them hit at the same distance...Do not tell me an A-10 bullet can make a sound so loud at 1 mile away that it can make you shake the camera, when a 1000lb bomb cant even be heard impacting.

I live by the Warren Grove range in NJ, and before the big fire from a few years ago They used live weapons shooting at ground targets. You WERE allowed to go up on the tower and watch. It was awesome! The bombs were just smokers, but the gunfire was real. Ill bet there is warren grove footage on youtube if you look it up.

Third thursdays in July at the Dare County Bombing range (near the outer banks of NC). Its a small but really cool event. Also, dummy bombs are dropped. Multiple Navy aircraft can be seen doing fly-bys and targeting. Usually, somebody is there with food and even some military guns, but its been a few years since I've been out there. Definitely worth the trip though as you cant see this kind of live fire at even the biggest air shows.
