I'm sure this has been said here already but the Daft Punk Alive tour definitely was inspired by this intro for their "robot rock" song. It's very similar. I'm surprised this kind of sound was around in the late 70's. Pretty cool stuff

This is so much more than a musical masterpiece. It celebrates how the Autobahn or Motorway opened up the country (eg @2.58) to many ordinary folk and could enjoy the open road, without risk of people walking around etc. (before roads got clogged up of course! :-)) A brilliant track.

They appeared because they where lit with the same kind of blue light. When those lights turned off the blue of screen behind Kraftwerk gave them personal shadows making them unknown. Of who they are in specific.
