@dragonkeeper19600 Well seeing that Alucard's origin's is base on Bram Stroker's Dracula(with an alternate ending of Dracula being turn into a family servant for Hellsing) in the book, sunlight didn't harm Vampires(or at least not dracula himself not so sure about other vampires) just weaken them to a certain extent, its like a salmon going from saltwater to freshwater, they can tolerate sunlight, but the night is their natural environment

@fbiuzz Alucard mentions to Seras that going out in the sunlight means a "slow death," but we see him walking around during the day, no problem. I always thought it meant old, powerful vampires can walk in the sunlight and that younger vampires (such as Seras) can't.

Also its likely he is using it as an emphasis to explain to Seras that she is no longer human, but a creature of the night, and should stop acting as a human(as she was angry that her bed was taking out and replace with a coffin) and should start acting like a vampire(drinking blood, sleeping in coffin, etc)

@sweetblackblood1 Alucard is neither on the good side or the bad side. He is on the side of pure, un-hindered carnage. The fact that he is a servant of the Hellsing family makes him seem "good" for the time being. I personally believe that he respects Integra, but doesn't have the same emotions a human has anymore. Although there are times when he does show some of what he's feeling like with the queen or before he killed the SWAT team. That's my reaction, help any?

He's not good, because he kill without care if ordered to, but he's not evil either because he's not a psychopath that kills for no reason. He has a purpose to kill, which makes him a sadistic antihero.
