yea im torn on the subject... on one hand no one can ever compare to layne staley that guys a friggin god but .. on the other hand the band was way too good to just quit playing because he passed away. i agree they need new music that can be attributed to the new guy but of course everyones gona wana hear the classics so he has to try, give him props for not totaly fkn it up

Give Duvall some respect! The guy's voice isn't quite as fitting as Layne's, but it isn't much of a step down.  Better than most singer's i see, and I think people need to stop hating on Duvall just because he seems to enjoy himself on stage. He is a different person than layne, therefore he should act different. This isn't so much comments on here, as it is on every other AIC video. Thanks for letting me vent!

I saw them play at the UK leg of the Sonisphere tour this year and although I was disappointed they didn't play this song, Duvall was brilliant, both on the new material and on classics such as Rooster, Angry Chair and Them Bones.

While William's style is different to Layne's it still works very well with Jerry's backing vocals.

Its wrong trying to compare the two and we should just be glad the band have decided to continue.

It was a powerful concert the other night with their new singer ,with Lanye well gone, it was decided by Jerry after a few years whether to continue the A.I.C. legacy

and let's not forget, J.C. i use the term loosely, sings over 50% of the songs!

It was an absolute killer concert, the roars

from the crowd, was like the concert amazing stuff! With the crowd roaring approval with each song need i say more!!

I think everyone should just be glad that this amazing band is back from the dead. ACDC did the same thing along with INXS and many other bands, if they wanted to start a new band they would have and plus, dude sounds fantastic. Here's to many more Alice in Chains albums to come!!

I don't mind them coming back as a band and whatever but at least have a different name because it is not alice in chains and it never will be. Once they lost Layne, it was over. And i really don't like how William is singing Layne written songs, they are Layne's and no one elses.

First, Layne Staley was only 25% of alice in chains, as well as Jerry, mike, and mike, but 75% over rules 25% so get over it..Layne will always be a legend, but it's time for great music to hit our ears "again & again"

Jerry Cantrell WROTE most of what layne backed up singing. Alice in Chains was Alice in Chains, Layne Staley was Layne Staley. I think its bloody great they're moving forward, albeit cautiously.

I hate to be critical but being a musician/AIC fan its my job.. Noone will ever replace Layne, but this is definately one of Duvall's better jobs. I'm still excited to hear new material, it'll never be as good without Layne, but that doesn't mean it won't be enjoyable :) i just get real sad everytime i see them with someone else as a frontman...

a reminder of the past unchangable. In the end Alice In Chains is the definition of grunge to me.

These guys have played in front of several million fans now so I think you should keep your mouth shut about "bands that never went anywhere" or "solo careers that didn't work." The quality on this clip is pretty good for a cell phone? Decent sound, and no crowd noise ruining it, cool visuals too; I like the blue and green lighting. I also saw this concert (not this show but...) it was excellent. Good post.
