  • Very good vid mate I have tried to explain the difference to many people over many years...good work.

  • So for Coon, Fox hunting a .22 bullet is the best choice....logically.

  • @79Testo put the pellet in the head and it will break the skull and kill the coon, that is if you use the right pellets, ive killed a coon with a .177 before, i used crosman destroyer pellets, vicious little monster these pellets are, the best energy transfer ive seen in any pellet rifle PERIOD! but you only get one shot tho so make it count :)

  • @free00to00ryhme

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna use a .22 Crossman with hollow point next time. I can buy the 495 FPS model here in Canada without a firearms license. In the U.S. you can buy the 1000 FPS if you are over 18 and there is no license required.

  • well you're using a regular 22 bullet. CCI Quick Shocks are pre-fragmented and rape shit

  • i agree with you, i have shot squirrels through the chest with a .22lr and sometimes i dont get them becasue they dont bleed, but when i use a 14.3gr pellet and ny bejamin trail np xl 1100, and hit them in the chest, the lungs get pulverized!!!

  • Excellent demonstration of a valid point.

  • If the object is solid enough (dense enough) to slow the bullet a little more than an orange can, you'll get a similar energy transfer and explosive effect.

  • very good vid!!

  • I see on one of the other users vid he say the reason why he shoots so well is bcuase of you. please make a vid telling us youre tips. thanx!!

  • @pureprotea1 well just send me a message of what you shoot and how well your shooting and I will do what I can to help you. Everyone is different and what works for someone else might not work for you.

  • @NTEESUPREME try putting the 22 LR bullet into the pellet rifle....if you want lol

  • I own both a .22LR and a .177 break-barrel. I have similar results when shooting cans full of water. I would still take the .22 hunting though

  • @ultimatevideowatcher Whenever it is safe to use my 22lr that is what I prefer. In the video I meant to say I can use pellets on animals up to 25lbs, but prefer to use it on pest less than 10lbs.

  • @NTEESUPREME

There are some coon that can go up to 35 pounds...can you take them out with a pellet gun?

  • this is on oranges though. you put a bone in there which animals have then it becomes a different story

  • thats whats called, overkill

  • Nice work!

  • jordenkl i gather your referring to the purplepunisher and not me.

  • I'm sure he was referring to the purplepunisher

  • you get be kidding me, the "purple punisher"

  • Good videos Neet, keep em coming! The shape of the round(i.e round, hollow, flat or bulldog) has lot's to do with the energy transfer as well. The more resistance there is on point of contact, the more energy transfer. Would you agree?

  • The target was just too soft for the bullet hollow points I usually use them on raccoons and large groundhogs. The bullet still passes threw but it leaves a large wound channel. The tips of different pellets and bullets do play a role in energy transfer.

  • I have killed a 50 pound javelina with a pellet gun but it is not an easy thing. I saw It staring at me from 15 yards away and headshot it. it ran about 15 yards and then died. I used a ruger airhawk elite with 1000 fps and a gamo rocket pellet. I wish I had my ammo for the 22 pellet gun. mine is the second most powerful pellet gun in the world.

  • What do you have? The Daystate Air Ranger, Sumatra 2500R, Evanix AR6, Career707 or Air Force Condor???

  • @NTEESUPREME sorry I worded it wrong it is the second or most powerful SPRING AIRGUN. It gets like 1100 fps with those slow flat or wadcutter pellets but with that pba stuff it would get about 1350 fps. How many fps does yours get?

  • Well again what rifle are you using?

  • the really powerful one is a springer called the walther falcon hunter edition. With this gun you can't hit all that much it's not very accurate. The ruger airhawk elite is another one I have and I used it to kill the javelina. The next squirrel I am going to try to get with my daisy model 880.

  • Well unless you did some serious tuning in your rifle the spring version of the.22cal falcon hunter should average around 1,000fps with hobby pellets & a max of 1083fps pba raptors. This is still impressive power. What was the average temperature when you cronied your pellets?

  • that's cool do you own this rifle? I don't have a chrono:(but i think the box said something like 1100 fps.

  • No I don't own but I have seen the actual test over a crony. You can't believe what the box says they always over exaggerate velocities.

  • yeah in fine print they may say aomething like to the nearest 50:)

  • Oh and i found out why it is so unaccurate. I use crap daisy pellets that suck anywhere over 20 yards.

  • @NTEESUPREME Oh yeah the one i killed the javelina with was a ruger airhawk using a .177 rocket pellet by gamo.

  • if you think the ruger is the one of the most powerful in the world your kind wrong, i think i could kill a javelina with my falcon hunter .25 but still

  • @HerpMastertheFirst I don't think it is the most powerful in the world. my walther falcon hunter .22 is quite powerful though.

  • the theoebn eliminator can put out 26 ft pounds and thats a break barrel, thats about 1300fps with hobby pellets

  • I see your a novice that only plinks. I am a professional I believe in only using the most accurate and humane ammo available. I have shot groups as small as .214" at 50 yards you would be lucky to get 2" with what you use.And please don't try to put everyone out to be ignorant that shoots a .22

  • Ntee totally agree about the subsonics we shoot foxes over here in UK and always use them, i even use subsonic 410 shotgun shells as i have hushpower suppressor on it to keep noise down.

  • i have friend that their job is to kill varmints, they use in this kind of ammo, they have 338 rifles and 357 cal,

you know shit, then shut up

  • They have 338 rifles?! holly shit thats a lot, they must make a killing at their jobs...

  • i think pellets are more humane for small varmits

  • Plus You can eat them because the pelt isn't completely shattered. One clean headshot does the trick.

  • so your a pro varmint hunter..do u get good pay in the states??btw..nice vid

  • ntee how old are u man

  • visit my channel

  • have you seen those videos on the barnes varmint grenade? pretty cool.

  • Those are excellent rounds I am looking into getting some for my AR. Hope to get a good sized groudhog job to put them to the test :)

  • Could you redo this video for us? I would like to see the orange when you actually hit it with the 22, not graze it. You did not get a good shot with the 22long, you just nicked it, the pellet was a direct hit. Just my 2cents.

  • The 22lr hit the center of the orange as did the pellet. The orange was just to soft to retain the energy. Now if I used my 17 hmr then there would be a big difference.

  • Darn good video excellant job!!!

  • Use a copper hollow point... that transfers the energy much better...round nose bullets are ment to go through things and not transfer the energy hollow points are ment to expand inside the target causeing more damage.. just wrong 22 lr round selection..

  • Don't think you noticed but HP is short for Hollow Point :D LOL!

  • I bet if you used a 60 grain bullet at about 1,000 the comparison would have been a bit more interesting.,..

  • is the air gun .22 or .177

  • It says in the beginning of the video. The air rifle is also .22cal

  • Great video. :>

  • is just cruel. If you shot those coons with a Airgun then you should seriously look into how the movement of energy works before shooting again. If you used the .22 then good on yea. I also saw some of your other videos and your ruger is pwn

  • How can you make this accusation. I understands my rifles capabilities, energy, and ballistics perfectly. I also have a very good understanding of my target wildlife pest and their anatomy's. I started shooting pest 22 years ago and have learned a lot over the years and am a firm believer of ( 1 SHOT 1 KILL! )

  • yes, 1 shot 1 kill is a great philosophy, after all even though your just killing a pest i still believe in being humane... i hope i'm not contradicting myself.

  • No your not contradicting yourself. It very ethical to be humane it defines whether you are a savage or civilized.

  • very true, they're just trying to survive, they dont have to suffer, btw great shooting :]

  • This is a good video but so many things are wrong with it. First of all the pellet only took out half the orange NOT because it transfers its energy better but because it is transferring its energy slower. The .22 only rips though it because is is going though it at what ? almost 1200fps ?. .22 are also infamous for not expanding at all. My .270 hollow point 110 grains i use for gopher at long ranges just passes though mostly. Yet when i shot a coyote with the same ammo it leave a nice hole.

  • The other factor that needs to come into play is weight. A .22 40grain isn't gonna transfer 104 foot pounds into a 1/4 pound orange. Its just simple physics. Now i know what you are thinking. Some companies like barnes have created a bullet that will expand on a grape, lets face it though that's just engineering. I also would not recommend shooting any game over 5 pounds with a pellet unless it shoots over 850 fps and is very heavy. but common using a .17 9grain pellet going 1000fps on a animal

  • What you just explained is what I explained in this video just worded differently. The reason I use the.22 air rifle on small to medium sized pest over the .22lr is due to my years of experience. Even with hollow point 22lr bullets they tend to over penetrate causing me to use a follow up shot. With the .22 pellet all the energy that is needed is used the result 1 shot 1 kill. What it is all boils down to is the shooter if you don't know what your doing then don't do it!!!!

  • this is a great video and it really does have a clear explanation i was thinking i love pistols so much and i was looking at one and it looks really interesting. it is a crosman 1377c or the *american classic* im wondering what kinds of pests it could clean up. if you could search it up that would be great it is a multi pump pistol please answer back :p

  • small pest species of birds and small rodents

  • my pellet looks like yours except it has a point at the top its 177.cal

  • really nice video dude

  • That is a really good video. Short but really makes its point. (I had thought of doing that with different pellets, obviously, I haven't.)

  • I think I might do the same test between .177pellet & a .22 pellet to what the difference is :)

  • Would a .177 pellet at the same air gun power setting have a destructive effect somewhat near the .22 pellet? Or is it not nearly as destructive?

  • No not as much. The S410 in .177 will have a maximum power output of 23ft/lbs. The crossman premier heavy's at 10.5gr will give you the highest b.c. rating and possibly the best accuracy.

  • it makes great sense. i don't own a pellet rifle, but i surely pass about thirty bricks of .22 bullets through my remington about every three months. very informative video, but it relies on personal preference. in your line of work, a pellet gun is great. for just passing the time, a .22 is the perfect round. if you kill a wild hog with a pellet, then i will certainly be impressed.

  • you can kill a wild hog with a pellet. A tuned Airforce Condor can take a decent sized hog. I'm sure a stock one could too.

  • Very interesting. I wouldn't have guessed it would be that dramatically different.

  • I was a little surprised myself. But it makes sense.

  • Nice video i like it interesting ,educatable and just cool to watch

  • excellent vid mate 5*

  • Perfect!

  • Supreme always has good videos.

  • Nice informative vid. Well done!

  • Great little vid there. 5*

  • Interesting and a great explanation for all of us who need things to be explained "in apples and oranges" (Literally) very cool and informing man!!

  • nice ! is that a pumpkin your shootin?

  • lol!

  • Very interesting. I knew the pellet would tear it up more but I wouldnt have predicted that. 5*

  • I did what ZEROSKATER19931 wrot here ;) and I'm very happy after watch vid like that ;) you know why.. Greetings! 5.
