  • Hey Tony I have one of these and its great for recording the more romantic type stuff than the banjo itself. Although I'm a banjo nut (only have 12 now) this dojo is great and gets some weird looks when you play it in folk clubs Phill UK :)

  • @phillbjo I think it sounds like a banjo with a bad cold! TR

  • What a great sound! Beautiful instrument!

  • I'm impressed. Great playing and now I want a dojo

  • @Keefterdam Thank you. I'll sell this one! TR

  • wonderful

  • Excellent !!!!!!!!

  • Hey Tony, fine job on that tune. I guess I didn't realize you could play anything with strangs. Years ago you set up my new $300.00 1988 Sigma DR2 over at Green Acres at a festival. That was when Talmadge Law and Clarence Yoder were involved with the park. That Sigma is still the best guitar I've owned, and I still have it. I bought and soon sold a 1993 Martin HD 28 Custom 15 cause it didn't suit me. You are the guy to go to even if it's a cigar box with balin wire..Stan Bennett...St. Joe, Mi.

  • smashing

  • My Dad always loved this song. He would have loved your interpretation. Good job!

Folks, he has one for sale. You need one... Jack

  • Fantastic! I had never heard of such an instrument. Now I want one! Thanks for posting! Jack

  • If you combined Earl Scruggs and Josh Graves and turned them into a single person, you'd get this guy. Amazing performance!

  • Please stop trying to make me dance while I'm at work. Great song, enjoyed it.

  • This clip was sweet and colorful........I will try to copy these runs and take weeks of practice maybe months Thanks for this posting I,ve watched it 20 times.....and really enjoyed your playing will be a life time Fan !!!!

  • This was fantastic. A very nice performance on a great little instrument. I've watched it over a dozen time now. It really showcases what a dojo can do. I love it. It is unique -- comprising the melodic qualities of the banjo and sustain of a resonator. I belive it would be very vestatile. Are you still playing this thing? Any chance of some new videos?

  • Thank you. I sold the one shown here, (I have a music shop) But Have another just like it. If I ever get some free time I'll post some more. TR

  • great! keep on bluegrass!

  • Definitely adding this to 'My Favorites'!

  • This is sick! nice job, i really enjoyed this song :)

  • awesome, well done!

  • Hi Tony, I never get tired of listening to your playing the dojo, although you have only one posted, and your talent on so many instruments. Love watching them. Thanks for sharing. I recently got a dojo, and learning it, with the banjo, so will try and share 2 videos with you of my playing. No comparison at all with your talent, but hope they will be O.K. to listen to. Thanks Gwen

  • I'm seriously considering purchasing one of the DoJo DLX. Are you happy with yours and the performance of it? You are really selling me on it. You are great with it. Gwen

  • Nice. Sir, I would LOVE to hear this song played exactly the same on a regular banjo. The dojo is sweet, but my ears are craving a real banjo. Your style is really the kind of playing I aspire to. Thanks

  • All I have to say is, Sweet... I like it, ben palying five string Mastertone, but am really tempted to try the dojo... keep playing, you're good....

  • Tony, I get a kick out the boatswains pipe comments. I just keep coming back to this and love it.

  • This is great!!! I have a dojo and it's my first banjo which acquired through a trade. I have been trying to decide if I should sell and get a traditional banjo. However this video made me decide to keep. Thanks Tony!!!

  • that was fantastic,,,

  • Hey Tony, It's been a couple of months since I watched this video, but just watched it again now and was blown away all over again. You really are the master and it is just a lovely tune played very very well. I can't praise you enough. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Steve.

  • It's sort of like certain foods, tastes better if you don't eat it every day! Thank you very much for your comment. TR

  • I love it. If only I could play half as good as that, I would be happy. I'm still struggling with the banjo, learning to play. I may have waited to late in life - 64. This can be my next instrument. Put some more videos with the dojo.

  • Thank you. It's never too late, keep picking. TR

  • Thats just awesome. Keep it up!!

  • Wow, that's great! Thanks for posting.

    Rick

  • Thanks to you I've got a Dojo on order. Even my country music hating son thinks it sounds sweet!

  • pretty nice =)

  • super....

  • Well done! So nice to see any instrument played competently.

  • Great, great playing,i love the sound of Dojo!!!!!

  • I had no idea that those were being made anymore. I think I'll purchase one with my stimulus check- ha ha! Seriously, you make the instrument sound wonderful.

  • FANTASTIC !!!!! As you can see from my username, I am a fan of the Dojo. I own an Ozark Dojo, and am just learning to play ( as with the 5 String Banjo). If I can ever reach the standard of your playing in this video, I'll be one happy fella. Many Thanks for posting and showing me what is possible with this great instrument. All the best, Steve.

  • A very nice job, but I can't get to like the instrument. It would sound much better on a banjo to my ears.

  • The dojo is kind of like an unwanted speaker demanding equal time! TR

  • far out! normally i would avoid an instrument like that at all costs.haha. but you do a real nice job on this classic and pull some great tone out of that thing. thanks jtraske

  • I had to come back a visit this again. It is such a pretty tune. I'm amazed at your talent. I have watched many of your videos and I can say your NO.1 in my book!

    I'll always be a fan!

    Great Job!
