Buying Gold may not be such a good idea. The US President FDR signed executive order 6102 in 1933 which ordered all US citizens to surrender their gold coin, bullion and certificates to the Federal Reserve, thereby transfering a majority the gold wealth of the US to the privately run Fed. This was supposedly done as a means to help pull the US out of the Depression. With the severity of this financial crisis, it it conceivable that gold could be 'confiscated' again.

MSS: Which period of inflation or hyper-inflation do you have in mind which followed the deflationary period of the '30s in America?
If we're on verge of absolute meltdown of the US economy, then there will be deflationary sector, and inflationary sector. Things that are not needed will be worthless, e.g. 50" TVs; things needed will be out of reach: Eg. loaf of bread: $10,000. Point is, only small minority of people will participate in this new type of economy.
"Death and resurection of the dollar" Article from 06'
Bases for a New Dollar.
A Monetary Unit convertible into Gold at an official and mandatory rate of exchange fixed by the US Federal Reserve Bank, in coordination with the Bank of England.
The Gold backing the New Dollar will not be just any gold. Only special officially approved New Dollar Gold Bullion will be used and accepted, which will be specially minted and proof, ensuring total control by the monetary authorities.
The disconnect already exists between phy. and paper gold, without the masses understanding this. The masses would also not have any problem with any government issuing "certified gold". They could also say that us gold bugs got what we wanted in the end (a gold backed currency) but we would understand the scam, while the masses would have no idea. Not saying this is what will happen, just a thought.
I heard a saying, The smart buy Gold, but the super smart buy Silver. I also heard that anyone that owns 2000 ounces of silver will be very wealthy some day!
We have to move toward a moneyless world, like it says in the movie "Zeitgeist Addendum." There is no other way. The money world is only going to destroy us. If money is backed by gold, guess what, the criminal Rothschilds have most of the gold, and they will still be in power. Knowledge and technology is more important than gold.
Mate, glad you stressed "physical gold", as in coins or bullion buried in your backyard. Check out Max Kaiser's radio interview during which he talks about rumours about the crash of the COMEX in December. All that glitters is not gold.
Don't see a run on the Comex in the near future. These rumours are being fired up by Max Kaiser and Bob Chapman who are not stupid people but have been known to always take the extreme negative view. On the other hand here in Canada Gold is already too expensive to buy. $1200-$1500 per oz for coins or 1.5-2X spot in Canadian dollars. No point buying it now.
You forgot to add about 1,000 other people to that list of people who think there will be. The idea is that they have all this paper gold that is sitting at 700 an ounce, and if they make them deliver it they make about 500 dollars an ounce. The problem is the comex doesn't have the gold, and everyone knows it.
You may be right but the price to buy gold or silver coins here at 2x spot pretty much negates the ability to get in at this point. Silver is $20-25 per oz and Gold is $1150-1500)per oz in coin form. If we could buy it reasonable price it would definitely make sense to get some as a hedge. At our prices risk/return ratio makes it questionable
Great to see you back on MySpace. Yes load up on precious metals and food. Do you think the talk of the COMEX bust come November 28 and leading on into December is likely to take place? Many thanks
I agree with you Myspace, the FED should be abolished because this centralbank is rather badly managed by a greedy private banking cartel. I think privatly conducted centralbanks are remnants of the age of feudalism. All creation of money should be run and owned by the state and must have a reasonable conduct.
hope you are not offended with my post. These videos are intriguing. How come you know what is going to happen. You are more accurate than anyone on YT... what is your secret??
come this December when COMEX unable to deliver the gold and silver you will see a collapse of paper gold and real gold will double the price in a day.
many precious metal mining companies and individual investors are pissed off by the fact that COMEX is artificially keeping gold and silver prices down. they would love to see COMEX collapses. once that happens the stock price for those companies and investors will hit the sky.
Great post again. Thanks for chatting about gold. Do you buy allocated or unallocated gold from the Perth Mint? Do you think there's any chance the paper gold will default? e.g GOLD on the ASX or other types of paper gold.

Silver is currently trading 1:78.
This is historically a huge ratio (chasm) between gold and silver.
Unlike gold, above ground silver is almost running out. Very difficult to find.
It will be difficult to speculate on how many dollars silver will be worth per ounce if (when) the dollar collapses. (Infinity?).
