I remember back in the day when this movie came out, I thought it would be more focused on Ray, JR, Gary and Bobby, Pam and Cliff youth and sort of more of the history of the family we knew in the series, I am glad they when back to Jock's and Ellie's and Diggers youth but I was hoping more a deeper story like with the killing of Hutch on Southfork and Jock's first wife Amanda and the Ewing kids growing-up ...
@whirlpool28 they did not portray jock ewing the way he really was. in th early yrs film they made jock be this noble do gooder who did no wrong. When in reality jock was almost as devious as JR. Jock black mailed people, made up dirt on people to get what he wanted. he taught jr everything. thats the only thing i hated about the movie. I would have loved to of seen a young jim davis play ben cartwrite. i love lorne green but jock ewing rules

I was wondering they should do another show called SOUTHFORK That tell the story of the early life of the Ewings starting from 1960,this is the time when Ray Krebbs arrived at Southfork and JR graduated from the University of Texas and joins the army and Gary had started daing Val. It's been done before with the show Ponderosa that told the story of the early life of the Cartwrights. What do you think?

@WWAHP A movie would suffice. Plenty of good drama there though. Jock wouldn't be portrayed in such a positive light.
