Yeah, that happened to me once. I tried to download an mp3-file, however it was a 55 year old man who wanted to push his pee pee in my poo poo.
Seriously, there's NO WAY somebody with a little xp about computers can get hurt by downloading. Pirates help each other. And if you are too dumb to realise that "SRZLY NO VIRUZ!1.mp3 - 4 kB" may not be such a good idea to download, then i guess you don't deserve to have a computer. At all. Ever.

While your statement is somewhat true, not nearly to the extent you imply. The arts, software, music - all that stuff that you can DL illegally, is but a small portion of North Americas GDP. Its effect would be barely noticeable, but yes, it will have *some* effect. Perhaps in a place like Hollywood where the economy is heavily dependant on the entertainment, it will have noticeable impact, but will not cause a depression.
