@aquinyc Setting up the account is not difficult. First setup your kid's name on the LeapPad so he/she has a profile setup on the unit. Then install the software CD that came with the unit. It will ask you for an email so it will email you updates. Plug the unit into the USB, and the unit will talk to the software and the software will show you it found the profile setup in the unit.
@iamjadsn The one I got came with 4 free apps which you can setup the account and login to download these apps. Besides any free ones you may get with the LeapPad, there are no free apps you can download.
