It's not the camera man doing the zooming, they probably shot wide all the time and then they do the zooming in video editing. The video editor also selects which (of the probably several) camera views that go on the DVD ... so it's probably more the DVD director/editor+management who decided to be up close and personal.

Even so, it does border on the tasteless at times ... on the other hand, they try very hard to be sexy and they're victims of their own success :-)
