@ShadesBelow03 That's strange.. Same thing happened to me.. Me and my friend was listening to the Andromeda LP the same day he passed, and talking about how incredibly underestimated John was!
Now we are deffinately doin' a cover version of the song "Hobo" by Hard stuff.. Probably the most overlooked band in rock history!
hard to believe its been 40yrs since these records were played on the jukebox down at the local pub those times were fantastic what a different britain back then didn,t need loads of money to enjoy yourself have a brilliant night on less than a fiver
that's got to be one of the best albums of all time, I can still remember the day I bought this, it is retired in the cupboard now, with the rest of my albums
I saw them in the late 70's at reading...they were dreadful the keyboard player threw up on stage and then...they cut short a painful set...and they were gone.
I totally agree about Atomic Rooster, a much under rated band. Remember Alan Freeman "Fluff" plugging "Tomorrow Night" on Top of the Pops. It came into the charts and was going out again but he played it and eventually it soared into the top 5. "Devil's Answer" followed and was a monster hit as well. Never forgotten.
I met john cann a few years ago he wanted me and my band to reform atomic rooster, sadly our guitarist wouldnt and so it never happened and that was the biggest mistake we ever made. john disappeared not long after that (into norwich i believe) but we lost contact. so if ya out there john long may you live mate and get in touch
One of the best bands ever. Paul Hammond is almost totally unknown, yet I think his drums topped Carl Palmer.Real shame. I never get burned out on those 1st three Atomic Rooster albums.
My brother played this the first song I heard at my first high school dance after drinking and smoking weed for the first time in my life, two months after our father died unexpectedly. I'll never forget it.
pete french was on "in hearing of" which to me was their masterpiece...song for song....but of course the "self titled" lp and "death walks behind you" were classics in themselves
This is an incredible recording with Vincent Crane on keyboards, Jhon Cann (or Du Cann) on guitar and Paul Hammond on drums, maybe the best line up of Atomic Rooster.
Amazing, I've never seen footage of this group in this lineup before. I bought this vinyl LP in the 80's (Death Walks Behind You". This is probably one their best albums and best lineups. My other fave songs are Nobody Else, I Can't Take No More, & Sleeping For Years.
What a great memory!! This is one of the all time best songs of its time. Atomic Rooster never got the fame they deserved. (Yikes, I have their Dr. Sardonicus album on vinyl.)

The only song they played by them on the radio in upstate NY. You had to discover more on your own. The Top 40 was WAY different then.

Atomic Rooster will remain the most under-rated band ever, they were so full of talent they couldn't stand it...

Strange, it's not as heavy as I remember it. I probably conflated it with Devil's Answer, which *is* heavy.

The singer looks just like a young Howard Stern. I guess that you really can tell who's Jewish from their looks.

LOL..no not always. I am one, but don't look like the "stereotypical." You are thinking of Ashkenazi, but there's other "types." Look it up
