  • such a tragedy

  • and we all know vincent committed suicide on valentines day

  • and we all know who the first drummer was dont we

  • especially for a 3 piece band

  • i agree. one of the most underrated and underplayed band ever!!!

  • @ShadesBelow03 That's strange.. Same thing happened to me.. Me and my friend was listening to the Andromeda LP the same day he passed, and talking about how incredibly underestimated John was!

Now we are deffinately doin' a cover version of the song "Hobo" by Hard stuff.. Probably the most overlooked band in rock history!

Rest in peace John.. Give my best to Vince

  • And now, one year later, I add RIP John... you three were the greatest...

  • atomic rooster kicks black sabbath's ass.....

  • hard to believe its been 40yrs since these records were played on the jukebox down at the local pub those times were fantastic what a different britain back then didn,t need loads of money to enjoy yourself have a brilliant night on less than a fiver

  • The only song they played by them on the radio in upstate NY. You had to discover more on your own. The Top 40 was WAY different then.

  • good! thanks for the lyrics....

  • These vids of Atomic Rooster really makes me happy

  • This song has the perfect ammount of cowbell

  • that's got to be one of the best albums of all time, I can still remember the day I bought this, it is retired in the cupboard now, with the rest of my albums

  • @kopynd You should bring them out of retirement!

  • heh these mothers are cool

  • I saw them in the late 70's at reading...they were dreadful the keyboard player threw up on stage and then...they cut short a painful set...and they were gone.

  • my uncle helped found atomic rooster, Nick Graham

  • i love prog rock but not prog politics

  • I totally agree about Atomic Rooster, a much under rated band. Remember Alan Freeman "Fluff" plugging "Tomorrow Night" on Top of the Pops. It came into the charts and was going out again but he played it and eventually it soared into the top 5. "Devil's Answer" followed and was a monster hit as well. Never forgotten.

  • I LIKED THEM THEN- I STILL LIKE THEM NOW!

  • I met john cann a few years ago he wanted me and my band to reform atomic rooster, sadly our guitarist wouldnt and so it never happened and that was the biggest mistake we ever made. john disappeared not long after that (into norwich i believe) but we lost contact. so if ya out there john long may you live mate and get in touch

    all the very best

    kenny (still in dereham )

  • @sirjester09 too bad you couldnt get Atomic Rooster going again, that would have been awesome!!!! Good luck to you and your band.

  • Blimey ! this is the band at it's heaviest. Fantastic !! John Cann at his blistering Hendrix/Blackmore best !...The best line up for me.

  • ATIMIC ES DE LOS MEJORES GRUPOS QUE HE OIDO AUNQUE EN MEXICO TARDARON UN POCO EN LLEGAR

  • this video kills. atomic rooster is tops!

  • the other great band from the this time is hawkwind

  • a classic ...

  • the greatest British band of 70s era.

  • Atomic Rooster will remain the most under-rated band ever, they were so full of talent they couldn't stand it...

R.I.P. Vincent and Pul, we still love you...

  • One of the best bands ever. Paul Hammond is almost totally unknown, yet I think his drums topped Carl Palmer.Real shame. I never get burned out on those 1st three Atomic Rooster albums.

  • Good band

  • My brother played this the first song I heard at my first high school dance after drinking and smoking weed for the first time in my life, two months after our father died unexpectedly. I'll never forget it.

  • Strange, it's not as heavy as I remember it. I probably conflated it with Devil's Answer, which *is* heavy.

  • The studio cut seems pretty heavy, must've been SERIOUSLY heavy at the time !!!

  • Thanks for the correction .

  • Tomorrow Night!!!!

  • no problem keefek.....loved this band from day 1 also.....

  • pete french was on "in hearing of" which to me was their masterpiece...song for song....but of course the "self titled" lp and "death walks behind you" were classics in themselves

  • Always adored this song.

  • I was thinking that Peter French sang lead on this lp

  • hell i though this was emerson lake and palmer

  • I have this album ... I'm amazed there is actually AR stuff posted !

  • Killer video man, great song from an underrated band!

  • Plain and simple....In Hearing of .....is the bands masterpiece.

  • classic classic classic!!!! Great to see some video of this band! THANX! Keep it coming if anymore available!

  • The singer looks just like a young Howard Stern. I guess that you really can tell who's Jewish from their looks.

  • LOL..no not always. I am one, but don't look like the "stereotypical." You are thinking of Ashkenazi, but there's other "types." Look it up

  • dude this guy fucking sherds. some early shreddding

  • This is an incredible recording with Vincent Crane on keyboards, Jhon Cann (or Du Cann) on guitar and Paul Hammond on drums, maybe the best line up of Atomic Rooster.

  • Amazing, I've never seen footage of this group in this lineup before. I bought this vinyl LP in the 80's (Death Walks Behind You". This is probably one their best albums and best lineups. My other fave songs are Nobody Else, I Can't Take No More, & Sleeping For Years.

  • I have the original vinyl too. Class stuff!

  • forgive me. Sardonicus was a Spirit album. got my vinyls confused.

  • What a great memory!! This is one of the all time best songs of its time. Atomic Rooster never got the fame they deserved. (Yikes, I have their Dr. Sardonicus album on vinyl.)

  • wasnt dr. sardonicus by spirit? the 12 dreams of dr.sardonicus?

  • Of course, you're correct.

( I did correct myself after my first post!)

This is from the album Death Walks Behind You.

  • Awesome vid! Thanks for posting!

  • Thankyou for posting!!! Just been looking at my old music papers from 1971 full of Atomic Rooster articles and pictures Great to see this!!!!
