@Georg5555 no. you can ferment a beer in a few days if it's light enough. Some beers can take up to 8 months or more to properly ferment but it's not common, especially in optimal conditions. Basically, the more malt you have the more sugur there is. the more sugar there is the longer it takes to ferment.

I believe you missed the most important step. First you start with a freshly rinsed glass. The glass has to be WET on the inside. Second the head should be the shape of a mushroom, slightly elevated over the top edge of the glass.

@fatsachs IPA's aren't really any stronger alcohol than any other beer, right? I drink them all the time, but can drink just a few of those damn Steel Reserves, or 2 CRazy Horse 40's and I'm pretty well lit. Not sure about double's though, guess that is some potent shit.

@huntingwolf20 IPA's are higher alcohol than any light beer, nearly any pilsner and typically any lager. IPA ABV's are characteristically from 5-8% ABV. DIPA's (double IPA's) can be a lot higher in ABV hitting 10% or even higher sometimes. I wouldn't know much about the beers you mentioned, I've heard about the Steel Reserve though, I hear it's dirt cheap and it tastes of hobo booty. Probably what they brew it in honestly. Personally, I only drink craft beer. :D

There is no correct or incorrect way to pour a beer. Everyone has their own personal preferences just like everyone has their own preferences when it comes to what tastes good and bad.

I have beer books by Michael Jackson and Randy Mosher and they both explain how to pour a beer in direct contradiction with each other. So if these so called experts can't agree then there clearly is no one "correct" way to pour a damn beer.
