  • There has to be a blu ray extended uncut edition(listening MGM/WARNER Bros?) Cause there was a long love scene In flashback where Miriam first seduced John Blaylock-seen only stills from that scene and even more Lady loving with Miriam and Sarah ,Still a beautiful thriller, but always felt it was TOO short,Tony Scott had to cut alot of stuff to appease the MPAA

  • "I don't know WHY I'm here" uh.... LESBIAN SEX MAYBE? WORK IT!

  • i got wet 30 seconds into watching this shit. This brings back some wonderful memories, such a classy vampire movie, just wonderful

  • I love that look of passion they give each other in 1:55. So hot.

  • This film, if only by happenstance in parts, rates as a ode to the powers of adaptation germinated and germane to what the modern age's first biologist and early celebrated invertible species zoologist ... having delved into the underpinnings of HEME, re today’s RNA communication to DNA -- metaphor -- err: misappropriated work of Jean-Baptiste Pierre de Monet de la Marck, Chavalier by Darwin & Neos: once majestically rich sovereign de la Marck dynasty | xeno-transfer consanguinity mythos.

  • So how did vampires become so boring in the 2000s? Maybe the sparkles did them in.

  • Catherine Deneuve <3. Spending the whole eternity as a decomposing living dead locked up in a coffin may be worth if you get to spend couple of centuries with Deneuve.

  • sarandon led me here and deneuve is what i left thinking about. two amazing woman, fabulous film and one hot scene...

  • Dude seriously, Could someone tell me whats the name of that song?, really i want to hear the full song but i don't know the name.

  • @Xl3attousaiX Flower Duet, from Lakme by Delibes

Translation: Under the dense canopy Where the white jasmine Blends with the rose On the flowering bank Laughing at the morning Come, let us drift down together Let us gently glide along With the enchanting flow Of the fleeing current On the rippling surface With a lazy hand Let us reach the shore Where the source sleeps And the bird sings Under the dense canopy Under the white jasmine Let us drift down together!

  • @Xl3attousaiX Catherine Deneuve gives u the name and the history of this most beautiful song. Pay attention..lol.

  • My goodness... Janet Weiss has grown up, hasn't she? ;-)

  • i am a 75 year old irish priest. i have felt many temptations since "joining the priesthood" however this video, god forgive me, makes me hornier than ever before. god bless all in hollywood and their wonderful work bringing us these excellent stories and very beautiful altogether.

i did not have any brothers.

  • This is the Blade Runner of vampire movies.

  • @jessicarc14 i believe you xD

  • This scene was badass 20 years ago and is still badass.

  • S: Is it love song?

M: I told you it was sung by two women.

S: ... it sounds like a love song.

M: Then I supposed that's what it is.

That is off the charts smooth. All of us dudes really need pick up lines like that.

  • @Xubose i love that part, too. very smooth. i would have melted if i were susan. just being in such a dim room, music playing, wine, catherine like a foot away, i would feel totally intoxicated.

  • okay, this might be a stupid question, but what's the name of that song??

  • @apl07782 Song = Lakme - Leo Delibes

  • i love how deneuve sits down in that chair. it's just like "well, c'mon take it off."

  • @Pineapple5064 I honestly don't know if I'm laughing because that comment was epic and took me by surprise, or because that is EXACTLY what I said when I saw it.

  • OMG..Catherine can seduce me anytime!

  • fake and gay

  • @CRAZYWeirdNSCARY10 That is hilarious.

  • @MegaLangosta

    my comment?

    Thanx :-)

  • ctherine is amazing. Most sensual woman out there.

  • This film ends when Bowie's character leaves the screen. The early scenes are far more enchanting than the later ones.

  • for a second I thought they were talking in telepathy

  • @yelmprincess Have you read the book? It's wonderful. Very detailed. Usually, the movie never measures up to the book, but in this case it does. The movie condenses the book.. makes it visual, but the beauty exists in both. Read it if you haven't already!

  • @juniper709 Yes I have I loved whitley strieber

  • Catherine Deneuve.....The most beautiful woman in the world...

  • Wow this is one of the most erotic things to have been committed to celluloid.

  • tony "master of epileptic camerawork" made this movie!!! unbelievable...

  • Nooooo....you can't cut the scene there!

  • the name of the opera is "Lakme", the composer is Delibes, french end of the 19th century

  • DAMMIT JANET.

  • What's the name of that operatic piece at the end? Anyone help?

  • What's the name of that operatic piece at the end? Anyone help?

  • where is a continuation?!

  • "Whoa Beavis . . . she's NAKED!" "Yeah . . . hehhehheheh . . . I'm gettin' a stiffy." The uncut version of this scene is spankbank material for sure. Screw the arguing over which one is more beautiful. There's not a straight man on the planet who would turn down either of these women.

  • That sherry turned awfully red on her tit.

  • Creo que este libro es uno de mis favoritos H.P. Lovecraft, adoro esta pelicula, nada que ver con las chatarras que ahora hacen pasar por "peliculas y libro de vampirito"

  • Why is it hard for me to get wood from the women I love? I love Deneuve.

  • leider ein horror film ...

    doch flowerduett lakme ... include

  • wow X_X

  • i could listen to catherine's english all day. i love the deepness of her voice.

  • this is an art film thats why most people did not like it, the movie was above the heads of the average movie goer.

  • What a horrible place to stop the video. Thankfully this moving is streaming on netflix.

  • AND THAT'S WHERE YOU STOPPED THE VIDEO?!!!! Good thing I saw this way back when - what a great seduction scene. Two beautiful and brilliant actresses.

  • I saw this when it came out. Was 18 at the time. Do the math: 18 year-old boy's imagination + Catherine Deneuve + Susan Sarandon + Lesbian Love Scene = Perma-Wank. Their memory is spot-welded into my brain.

    (Sorry.)

  • Kate Walsh looks like Catherine Deneuve so much!

  • What is this music???

  • @1Th1617 Catherine said about it in the film ) It's Flower duet form Lakme by Leo Delibes ))

  • Anyone thinks this movie was an inspiration to Twilight? i mean the vampires in this movie are similar to the ones in Twilight where sunlight doesn't kill them, they are beautiful people, they are romantic and they have no fangs but razor sharp as blades teeth like the ones in Twilight, only difference is that they don't sparkle in the sunlight.

How come Bowie and Miriam didn't sparkle? or is it because they are Egyptian?

  • @Johnlindsey289 calling them Egyptian would DEFINATELY offend some Afrocentrics. Haha. That is just a sign of the times, showing the vampire as an archetype move from disgusting voodoo zombie to creepy old foreign guy to sexy but slightly scary recluse to teenybopper high school student.

  • @PataponRose

There has been plenty of other vampire movies that show different kinds of vampires that are unconvential and not of the Dracula stereotype on film before Twilight such as this, Lifeforce, Near Dark, Innocent Blood, Planet of the Vampires, Sleepwalkers, The Keep, Ravenous, Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter etc. seen those?

  • @Johnlindsey289

Of course. I mentioned. There was the whole phase of the Anne Rice-esque vampire, such as in this movie, and that, sadly moved into the faddish Twilight kinda thing, which probably will prove to be no more of a phase than (and be forgotten like) gay vampire pornos.

  • @PataponRose

Don't forget Anne Rice made vampires gay. And how come these vampires can walk in the daylight without being killed yet don't sparkle? i mean come on man, David Bowie is bisexual and loves glitter. There's also Lair of the White Worm, Martin (1977) etc with unconvential non-stereotype vampires.

  • @Johnlindsey289 Martin and those other movies deal with more of the psychological vampire than the supernatural kind. A junkie theoretically could be a vampire.

  • very good old movie

  • are you making a pass at me misses Blaylock?

  • I love sexy French women :)

  • yeah, baby, let's get it on!!

  • Deneuve is far too beautiful. It's truly amazing to see how her beauty just deepened from Les Parapluies de Cherbourg. She was perfect in this role.

  • Hottest love scene ever omg!!

  • Deneuve in her best performance.

  • denueve cold, cold like the ice...

  • i have watched this movie 100 times.

  • Sarandon is beautiful, but it's shocking how plain she looks next to Deneuve.

  • @anemone9 with longer hair and a little make-up, susan is actually quite beautiful...

  • I love Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon !! Great artists ...

    Kisse$, Jane :)

  • I just finished watching Belle De Jour, the time span between that movie and this one is 15+ years and my god, it is as if Catherine Deneuve doesn't look a day older, she is ageless in her films

  • @trickmastermonkey

    i totally agree with you

  • oh man...just....

  • 'hey ashley, just got ur msg. k ill tell u. i got it at twilight4free . info

  • this is the greatest seduction scene of all time.

  • I gotta say it, Susan has great nips.

  • @brassflower you got no class.

  • Susan Sarandon does such a good job being "awkward" in this scene. Catherine just has amazing presence.

  • Another patriotic idiot that doesn't read all the postings gone before and jump to conclusion. I am neither French, nor English so you can quit the holy grail shit and drop the croissants. Go read the point that i was trying to make and next time dont open your gob again 'till you know what you talking about.

Now, go and take your medication: you have been brain washed.

  • croissants are delicious.

  • AhaHhhAhAhA! True. But not shared with ThomasAkaspar, the lobotomy patient!

  • @ThomasAkaspar strange comment, what does it mean??

  • Um, why did u stop at the good part?! LOL

  • the music is lakme from delibe

  • This is such a good film. It's so stylish

  • when the first goth kid tried to skateboard only to suck at it...emo's where born

from then its gone from bad to worse and lo as the whole culture became gay

  • carherine thats what icall a woman!

  • wow what a hot scene....

  • Watched The Hunger last night, it's quite an impressive watch... A little dark, a little sinister, but sophisticated.

Just like the entire Goth subculture.

  • can someone tell me title and the author of the piece of music that starts from about 1:55, I will be extremely glad, thanks :)

  • this has got to be one of the best lesbian scenes ever made for film

  • Did you read tihis book? I AM WOMAN!!!!

  • at 3:30 they say "they sing how they follow the stream to its source, gliding over the water"

  • What does Catherine Deneuve think at 1:54 and say at 2:03? This was what I caught. "I'm sure.... but, I suppose you're very busy." "Me? .... Idol, I'm afraid." One last question, at 3:30, does she say this? "In a magical garden, they sing how they follow this dream between (souls?), gliding over the water."

  • "Me? ... idle I'm afraid."

I hear the second sentence as do you, "souls" is correct, and fits with the story of Lakme and Malika.

  • Comment removed

  • could someone please tell me what the song is

    ive tried looking it up

    and i cant undersand her

  • it's the song of the slave Mallika and of the princess Lakmè, from the opera Lakmè by Léo Delibès, a french composer of the 19th century

  • thanks

    its realy beutiful

    and i keep hearing it

    but never new its name

    thank you so much

  • It is sung in French.

  • i meant her accent

and the name is in french

    so i couldn't type it

  • Lady Di was cute..not beautiful...

  • if even

  • Catherine Deneuve = Imortal Beauty

  • Great movie !!!

  • the best version I've heard is in this movie. I've listened to many others and they seemed a bit fast. The slowness of the piece her makes it seem more exquisite and erotic.

  • Its the flower duet from Lakme by Leo Delibes

  • deneuve is undoubtedly the most beautiful woman on earth

  • Absolutely wrong, I cannot believe you would say such a thing. I think of many many more beautiful and elegant woman than her.

  • are you kidding? like who? models who use 10 pounds of make up on their faces? when denueve was younger she hardly everrr used make up to look beautiful. she didn't need it..she just naturally looked that way.

  • You've got to be kidding. I mean even Princess Diana in person was more beautiful than her, and I don't find her particularly great looking.

  • when denueve was YOUGNER

  • 36to173........blahblahblah: Yeah, that's because you are either jealous or you a have a particular bad case of myopia.

  • i'm not jealous nor am i one of those immature types that thinks women like megan fox are goddesses. i'm simply stating that she is not the most stunning ever...she is quite stunning, but there are several moreso

  • Princess Di more beautiful???You are kidding me??!!!Not a chance, whether CD younger or older!

  • Well the actual original argument was whether or not CD was the most beautiful and elegant woman ever. I should have said Di was more elegant and beautiful. That probably pisses you off more huh....

  • Not pissed off at all: just sad that you cannot see the difference in class & looks [or...elegance and beauty] that Deneuve has compared with Diana.I guess you're American and Americans have such a sad love affair with the British aristocracy. One day you'll have a history too & will realise your mistake :) [Yes I know the USA has no monarchy etc.,am just winding you up!] :)

  • You obviously haven't spent much time in the States. We constantly deride Brits for their ugliness, especially the Queen and Prince Charles. It would be ridiculous to assume an American would find a Brit elegant and beautiful just because she was a Brit. Princess Diana was such, IN SPITE of being British. However, I don't think you're arguing CD as the most beautiful/elegant of all time like the other loon, I'll give you that credit. But honestly, compare Di and Deneuve side by side, please

  • Aaagh...my reply was longer than the max 500 characters...what a waste of my time:suffice to say there are several weaknesses in your argument:missing the point,mis-reading what I wrote,stereotyping...

  • Perhaps you see elegance as an attitude rather than some tangible thing you can point to (like money, clothing, social status). In that regard Deneuve's characters may be of comparable elegance to Diana, but they are imaginary. Diana is a real human not some amalgamation in yawalle's mind of all the characters she's played in Cinema. Perhaps it is you with the stupor towards FRENCH elegance. I don't care if CD modeled for whomever, Diana was more elegant, and unbelievably beautiful.

  • Comment removed

  • It's ok. I never once said Deneuve wasn't a goddess in her own right. But she is an actress. Princess Diana was royalty. I know that in and of itself does not justify my argument, but that about sums up this debate as to who is more elegant. It's simply a difference in opinion. Lauren Bacall and Ingrid Bergman were more beautiful than Deneuve too in my opinion. But its just opinion.

  • 1.Elegance is not tangible:it is so obviously diffferent from money, clothing etc that your first premise is completely undermined..2,Diana was real but not to the public:she was given an 'amalgamation' of beauty, elegance etc by the world's press which she manipulated brilliantly, exploiting her aristocratic position & royal marriage;Diana was just as much a model as CD.Attractive to some, yes, elegant & beautiful...no.

  • Actually no we don't constantly deride the Brits because they're ugly. There are ugly and beautiful people in every society. Brits have one thing I wish all Americans had- they don't take themselves too seriously.

  • Oh come on. Maybe not you, but we as a society constantly make fun of the Brits looks and the French cowardice. It's not right nor fair but you have to admit it occurs.

  • 36517repubs....Yeah? And ALL Europeans collectively laugh at Americans' stupidity. Ah, and did i mention their loudness, crassness and ignorance? And how about that symbol of American culture that is: Sarah Palin?

Please dont get me started. You want stereotypes? There is nothing better then one big, fat, ignorant, loud, racist, gun tooting, christian fundamentalist American to fit the stereotype. See?

It's not right nor fair but you have to admit it occurs.

  • Welllll...oddly enough I happen to go to church every Sunday and lynch black people. Hahaha, just kidding.

  • Yeah? Well... dont leave the day job yet: you are not funny.

  • Listen i'm sorry but my conversation on this video was far too long ago to remember what could possibly give you this level of indignation. I apologize for being the spawn of satan and a completely disgusting human being. But i really don't care what you're upset about.

  • No you dont. You are one big, American ignorant, who happens to fit the stereotype. Word of advice: travel more, learn other languages, be open to other cultures, widen your horizons.... meantime do not comment on things you know nothing about. You end up looking like the fool that you are. Sad.

  • Again, what in the world are you talking about? Ummm...okay. I'm an ignorant American...????

  • Go back and read your preposterous comments. "The ignorant American' is just an ironic example of your own stereotyping. You really need to start thinking before you talk boy.

  • OMG, Deneuve!

    Sigh...

  • This movie turned me on to classical music. Best vampire movie ever.

  • Yeah i know i kinda wanna download the music so everytime i hear it now i'll think of this movie:)

  • I only discovered this film a few days age

    ......Catherine is so beautiful.

  • Catherine is just so pretty.....This is an excellent clip

  • Catherine is so sexy that it should be against the law!!!

  • I LOVE their interaction from clips

    1:45 - 2:00, and

    2:22 - 2:55.

I am so in love with Catherine in this scene!

  • why did her lovers come back at the end i didn't really get the story...

  • I was a little confused, too. I think it's either that her blood isn't strong enough to keep them alive more than a few hundred years, or that when she falls out of love, or gets bored of them, they die. I'm not sure. I think she promises them eternal life, but can't really give it, one way or the other. If there's a book, it would probably be more telling.

  • Miriam is a true vampire, her lovers arte not. She promises them eternal life but since they are human her blood does not give eternal youth. After a few hundred years their beauty withers rapidly, leaving them unable to satisfy their hunger because they can barely move, yet they can't die. So she keeps them in their coffins where she talks to them occaisionally.

The book is really good. It's by Whitley Streiber.

  • After the first few- why can she not figure this out & keep others from the same fate? Surely their is a way to satisfy her need with theirs without condemning them & turning them into not-eternal vampires.

  • i remember how distrubing it was to see Miriam shelf Bowie towards the end. Why not just kill them and spare them an eternity of being buried alive. Crazy.

  • because there is no death for the. her soul is tied to theirs, they cannot die until she dies. Although the ending leaves a great question mark as to what has happened with sarah.

  • One of the first movies I watched that let me know that I really love girls...I fell in love with both of them!

  • I'm not a lesbian, but I find this scene (and the one that follows it) to be totally hot! (Of course, the actresses are not lesbians, either -- well, at least not Sarandon!)

  • Perhaps asy4, but Sarandon refused to play the love scene "under the influence". As Sarandon put it, she couldn't think of anyone gay or straight who wouldn't want to get it on with Catherine Deneuve.

  • I totally agree with you !!!! Im not gay but I would totally get it on with Catherine she's so hot !!!!!!!!!!

  • Catherine is not gay either =) lol But in "8 women" she kisses another actress and I find it pretty sensual too even if I'm not a lesbian. =) This movie is amazing if you have the occassion to see it =) (it's french as me lol )
